Juno-610-Best of luck to you on selling your house. Do you have another home that you are interested in? It sure is hard keeping your house "show ready". Good luck to you! I have been on a plateau for the past month. I can't figure out why though. I see the nutritionist in a couple of weeks. Hopefully she can help figure it out. Good luck to you! Gigi:)

Hi Everyone! I am just checking in. I was up 2 pounds on the scale yesterday, which was very disappointing, but I got my period today, so hopefully that is the reason for the gain. I've only walked one day this week and went to the gym once. It has been such a crazy week and now the weekend is here, but it is my weekend to work. Hopefully next week will be better for my exercise schedule. Have a great weekend! Gigi

Hi Everyone! It has taken me about an hour to catch up on this thread. I have been so busy over the past 8 weeks(since the kids have been home from school). Their schedules have been so busy all summer. All three boys have basketball camp every day from 10:00 to 12:00 and my daughter has gymnastics from 10:00 to 11:00. Then they all have swimming at all different times, then the boys have basketball again 5 nights/week at different times. On top of that, my daughter has cheerleading 3 nights/week, so no wonder I feel like I have no time for me. I also work 2-3 days/week as a nurse at the children's hospital. Anyway, I apologize for not checking in more. I am going to really try to make more of an effort because I need to and enjoy this forum. I am on another plateau and told myself that I wouldn't weigh in until friday. I have been slacking on my water intake lately. I'm not sure why. I also have not been eating my protein like I should. I think it's because it is so hot out and honestly I don't feel like eating when it's hot out. Unlike most people, when I don't eat enough, I gain or stay the same, not lose. I am going to go back to having 2 protein shakes/day. Thanks for listening to me. I'll check in again. Have a good night. Gigi

Sunshine- You look WONDERFUL! I am so proud of you. Have a great time on your cruise if I don't get to talk to you. How long will you be gone? Gigi

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to check in on my 6 month anniversary of being banded. I absolutely love my band. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself. It gives me the something extra that I've always needed- kind of like assurance. Anyway, I have lost 57 pounds in 6 months and I feel great! Although I lost a little slower than I wanted to, I am very happy with my weight loss.( I wanted to lose 10 lbs./month). I have to go pick up the kids, but I just wanted to let everyone know how much I love the band. I'll check back in later. Have a great evening. Gigi

Hello to my band family! How is everyone doing? Well, I finally got off my plateau and was down 2.5 pounds today. Thank goodness because I was getting very frustrated. It is even that time of the month again(I'm due tomorrow). Anyway, It is amazing how my weight affects my mood. I was so much happier today. I hope everyone is well. Sunshine- Good luck to you tomorrow when you get your fill. I'll be thinking of you! Take care- Gigi

Good morning Everyone! Just checking in. I went to see my surgeon on Thursday. He was pleased with my weight loss but wants me to see the nutritionist. He thinks that I am not eating enough for all the exercise that I do. I will call and make an appointment next week. Anyway, I am still on my plateau which is so discouraging, but I am trying not to let it bother me too much. How's everyone doing? Bandida- So glad to see you're back. I've missed you! Congratulations on your success-You look FABULOUS!!!!!! BabyGotBack- You look AWESOME! Glad to see that you are back too. Sunshine- How are you doing? How did you make out with your band? I was also wondering if you could give me some info about the Body For Life challenge. I hope that all is well with everyone. Hope to check in later today-gotta go for a walk. Have a great day- Gigi

Hi to all my January Bandsters! I apoligize for not checking in for so long. I have been so busy with the kids summer schedules. I've been waking up early to go to the gym so I am back before my husband leaves for work. Then I am busy with the kids all day long. It has just been crazy. Anyway, I hope to check in more frequently. I am at my first plateau. I haven't lost in about 2 weeks, but I did start lifting weights about 4 weeks ago. I have to go see my surgeon tomorrow, so we'll see what he says. I hope that everyone is doing well. I miss checking in with everyone. I have to catch up on how everyone is doing- I have alot of reading to do. Have a good night- Gigi

juno610- That is a great NSV! Congratulations to you:clap2:. I am at 2 cc's in a 4 cc band and feel just right for now. I tend to get things stuck once in a while. I was eating a grape the other day and I guess that I didn't chew it enough and I got that feeling. It passed without any slime or PB episodes. Gigi

Hello everyone! I hope that everyone is well. Marie- Congrats on the 90 min. walk- that is awesome. Once you get back into exercise you realize just how good you feel when you do it. Best of luck to you on starting a family! Tonya- I know they say that the scale doesn't lie, but sometimes it isn't accurate. I bet that you're just retaining a little fluid. You are doing so GREAT. I am so happy for you. You are almost at goal. That is AWESOME! I am so proud of you! How is your back feeling? I am doing well, but I stayed the same this past Friday.TOM came to visit this weekend, so hopefully by the end of the week I will notice a drop on the scale. Have a good night, I have to go out for a walk. Gigi

Hello to all my January Bandsters! It has been a couple of weeks since I checked in. My life has been very hectic. My daughter was in a gymnastics show and also a dance recital over the past 2 weekends. My son graduated from 8th grade over this past weekend. It was a beautiful mass and graduation ceremony. I can't believe that he is off to high school. Anyway, I've been busy with end of the year things with the kids, but now I am back. All is well. I am still working out and I really do feel good. I recently made it to my half way mark of 50 pounds:clap2:. I hope all is well with everyone. Will check in soon. Gigi:)

Hi Laura and welcome to LBT! I am also from Providence, RI. Congratulations on your surgery! Glad to hear that you are doing well. Who did your surgery? I was banded on 1/30/07 and I am so glad I did it. Would love to hear back from you to compare notes. Best of luck to you on your weight loss journey. Gigi:)

Shawn, Thank you for your reply and for the compliment. I have the band that holds 4 cc's of saline (though I hear that it actually holds 5 cc's of fluid). My doctor was reluctant to give me any fluid back at the end of May. At that time I only had 2 fills- both .75 cc's. (My doctor is very conservative) I begged him to give me a little more- so he gave me .5 cc's, which brought me to 2 cc's. As far as the PB's go, hopefully it won't happen to you. It sounds like you are following the rules of chewing and small bites. Thank you for responding. Have a good night. Talk to you soon. Gigi

Hi January Bandsters! It sounds as if everyone is doing well. I am also doing well. I had my 3rd fill on May 24th and I have alot of restriction. I have 2 cc's of fluid in my band now. I think this is a good place for me. I have had my first PB experience this past Saturday night while I was out for dinner. I guess I swallowed too big of a bite without chewing it to a mushy consistency. It was awful! I started with chest pain and discomfort, then I slimed. After about 30 minutes, I finally got rid of the small piece of chicken that was causing me so much discomfort. Needless to say, it was a very low calorie dinner for me. I excused myself from the table and was gone for a long time. Friends that I was out with didn't know what came over me. I told them that I must be coming down with something. I learned my lesson the hard way. Anyway, I am still exercising on the average of 5-6x/week for about 1 1/2- 2 hours/day. I am totally addicted! I feel great! My clothes are getting big and baggy on me. I was in a size 22, now I am a 16- a few 14's. I have plenty of clothes. (my wardrobe ranges from a 22 to a size 8) I'm not sure where I'll end up. I'm hopingfor a 10, but who knows. I tend to be losing more inches than actual weight. Well, I hope all is well. I plan to check in more often. Gigi:)

5jacks- That is AWESOME! Congratulations! I had to work the entire weekend through Wednesday, but I'm back now! Gigi:)

Hi everyone! I've missed catching up with everyone. It sounds like everyone is doing well. I've been so busy with work and the kids that I barely have had time to check in.I went for my 3rd fill yesterday and am feeling very restricted. I hope it stays. I have 2 cc's total in my band. I have had trouble with chicken. I think I forget to chew it to a mushy consistency. When I don't chew enough, I get awful chest pain which passes in about 30-60 seconds. This has only happened 2 times- both when I was eating chicken. My doctor didn't want to give me a fill yesterday, but I begged him and he ended up giving me .5cc. It is also that time of the month- I woke up with TOM this morning. I am currently down 44 lbs, which I am glad about, but I really wish it was more. I've been exercising for about 2 hours 5x/week. I do 50-60" on the elliptical, then 20-30" on the bike, then 25-30" of weight training. I've been eating small amounts and keeping my calorie level to under 1000/day. I am just feeling a little discouraged. Anyway, I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend. (I am working for the next 4 days). I'll check back in a couple of days. Gigi

kacee- Are you sure you are ready to be banded? Hopefully you will not think that way once you are banded. You will not be able to eat a large amount of food and you will find that you leave food on your plate. Maybe you could try using a smaller plate. Best of luck to you! Gigi
-
Inner me- Congratulations:clap2: :clap2: -that is wonderful! You must be so proud of yourself-WAY TO GO! Gigi:)

5jacks- I am very sorry to hear about your friend's death. She was so young. To answer your question, I think that stress does make the band tighten up. I am on my 2nd fill and am not very tight. I'm going for fill #3 next Thursday. Right now I only have 1.5 cc's in my band that holds 4 cc's. My doctor is very conservative! Anyway, best of luck to you with your fill. Have a good day! Gigi:)
