Hi Megan and welcome to LBT! Congratulations on being banded! I was banded 3 weeks ago and am doing well. I did have my share of gas pains though. The things that really helped were gasx, walking, and the heating pad. I am also a nurse. I work at Hasbro Children's Hospital in RI. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted on your recovery-Gigi

Hi Michele! Welcome to LBT! I was banded on January 30th and am doing well. Sad to hear that you had problems with blood clots. Are you on medication for this? Wow, your fill is soon! Good for you? How much weight do you want to lose? Did you have a pre-op diet to follow? Best of luck to you! Gigi

Hi Tonya, I just commented about your awesome progress in the before and after thread, but I want to tell you again. I think you are doing GREAT! You sure are an inspiration. I was banded on 1/30/07 and have lost 25 lbs to date( that is including a pre-op diet). So, in about 1 month, I have lost 25lbs. I am very satisfied with that. I also feel alot of restriction. I am on full liquids and soft foods- cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, sf puddings etc. I feel very satisfied for now anyway. I am not scheduled for my first fill until the 3rd or 4th week of March. Anyway- thank you for sharing your experience. You look WONDERFUL! Gigi

Hi Pamela- Welcome to bandland! Congratulations to you! You seem to be doing very well. I was banded on 1/30/07 and am doing well. I feel the same way about the weekends-they are so hard, but honestly since getting banded, I have not had any trouble. I eat what I am supposed to and I am satisfied. I am full and it is a good feeling. I didn't weigh myself until I went for my 2 week post-op appt. I was pleasantly surprised to have lost 24lbs-that's including the pre-op diet too. Hi Gret- Congrats on your upcoming surgery and welcome to LBT! I too am a mother of 4(3 boys and a girl) I was banded on 1/30/07 and am doing well. It is only normal to be a little nervous. I am sure that you will do fine. Keep us posted and best of luck to you! Gigi:)

Hi E Mara and welcome to LBT! Congrats on your surgery! As far as the pain and soreness goes, it's different for everyone, and also depends on what you are doing. I was banded 13 days before you and I am no longer sore. Give it time. You just had surgery. Best of luck to you! Gigi

Hi and welcome to LBT! I was banded on 1/30/07 and had my fair share of gas. I agree with what has already been said-gasx,and walking. I would also add a heating pad. All of these really helped with the gas situation. Best of luck to you! Gigi:)

Hi everyone! I am finally able to check in. I was having some problems with my computer. Anyway, I was supposed to have an appointment with the nutritionist on Wednesday; however we had a snow storm(more like an ice storm) and my appointment was cancelled. I did go for my 2 week post-op appointment on Thursday. I am glad to say that I was down 24lbs and the doctor said that everything looks good. I am feeling well. I've been exercising-only 3x last week. I am not feeling 100% today though. I have an awful cold. I am sure that this too shall pass. I think I'll rest today and go to the gym tomorrow. Anyway, just wanted to update everyone. I hope everyone is well. Gigi

Hi Dr. Johnny, Congratulations on your GREAT weight loss! You have done wonderful! I was banded on 1/30/07 and feel great. I haven't stepped on the scale yet, but I see my surgeon tomorrow for my 2 week post-op appointment, so I guess that I will find out how much I lost then. I was wondering if there were any banded doctors out there. Have you have any trouble with your band or diet? Have a nice day-Gigi:)

Hi! My doctor put me out for at least 4 weeks. I am a RN on an adolescent unit. My job requires alot of lifting, so I am out for at least 4 and possibly 6 weeks-Gigi

Your weight loss is WONDERFUL! You are doing great! I love to walk also,but it is in the single digits here in RI, so it is a little too cold for me to walk outside. Where are you from? I am going to see my surgeon on Thursday for my post-op appointment. I am a little nervous because I have to get on the scale,and I'll see how much weight I lost.(Even though I know that the first 6 weeks is for healing, I still expect to lose.
