    Hey guys, sorry I've been MIA, had a tooth pulled, didn't know it was gonna put me out of commission for 2 days!!! Globetrotter thanks for keeping the post going! Today's food for me is still mushie since my jaw is killing me! Stopped the pain meds since they made me coma-like, and sick to my tiny stomach! PreB- Protein shake B- Yogurt w/ blueberries L- no ideas D- no ideaa vites- already gone water- going down (keeping a log so I at least get to 40 oz trying to increase) exercise - will take a walk outside at lunch, it is going to be near 70 today! NEXT>>>>>

    Mom Advice!! Please HELP!

    Honestly, I wouldn't wait on this! You will be out of commission for what a week tops! You had how many kids? I'm telling you from experience, 1 natural and 1 C-section (twins) the sleeve was much easier to recover from. The pain after is almost a non issue. the biggest pain is the week that you cannot drive! And I really didn't adhere to that, my mom gets lost going around the corner so that ended real quick. The biggest thing I can see standing in your way, is if you need to lug the equipment around for your kids, or put your kids in and out of the car. And i'm guessing that if they are participating in sports, they do not need to be lifted and buckled into the car. My girls were 3 at the time of my sleeve, and needed to be put in the van and buckled in, which I quickly taught them! Just make sure while you are sitting (strolling) at practice, you are sipping on your water. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone, drink, walk, and get better! You really should not have a problem! Just my opinion, hope it helps you make you decision! Patti

    At 5 weeks out I was starting to incorporate solids. So I think I was having bites of hamburger. I do not think at that point I was eating more than a few bites of food per meal. If you weigh out your food, 2 oz is not a lot. most of the time it was like 2 TBSP. I was still eating creamy soups and yogurts. Now, my yogurts are about 4 oz but it takes me like 30 minutes to eat. my meat roll ups are 3 oz but takes me 30 mins to eat. I eat so slow that when my mom cooks dinner, I never even bother to heat mine up when I get home from work cause by the time i'm on my 3rd bite it is all cold again anyway! LOL!!! I cannot eat any more that 3 oz per sitting of solid food! Patti

    Morning all! Hope you all had a good Valentine's Day! Globetrotter, we have these mini challenges that we set our own goals and try to achieve them, the next one is for Easter! so that is 10 weeks away, so what do you think you can get down to by then. there is a whole thread for it, and it is kind of motivational and challenging at the same time. I also love seeing what everyone is eating so I know where I am with how much I am eating and get ideas of what else I can try! That is why I started this thread, i love some of the things that you come up with! Ok so here is LND and Dessert: 1 turkey meatball and 6 strands of spaghetti.... 2 slices of chocolate covered banana 4 medium chocolate covered strawberries (we melted the chocolate and covered our own fruit) the kids loved it! PreB- Protein shake (choco powder, 1/2 banana, PB, SF caramel, milk) B- yogurt w/ blueberries L- roast beef roll ups & cantaloupe D- i'm making: smothered chicken with bacon & cheese vites - as soon as i get the yogurt in Water - need to work on getting more in exercise - need to work on this more NEXT>>>>>>

    Dentist Visit

    Well, my teeth are literally falling apart since I had my band 3 years ago. I think it is a combination of the constant throwing up, and the Vitamin deficancy (sp). Early out I was lacking in lots of vitamins! I have had at least 4 root canals per years for the past 3 years, my insurance has maxed out each year! the dentist finally told me to start using a fluoride rinse this year! I also think that drinking Crystal Lite lemon aid and other SF drinks had contributed to this. If I eat something that is too hard my teeth actually break in half! it is really bad. if you are new to WLS, i suggest that you start using a fluoride rinse now and take extra care of your teeth before you get to the point of no return!     carbonated beverages

    I'm 4 months out and plain old water is just nasty to me. i now drink Sobe life water the zero calorie kind, and crystal lite. Nothing carbonated, but my husband made some beer a few weeks ago and it is finally ready to drink, so of course i HAD to try it! i told him that i really didn't want to, but he said please just a sip. i barely wet my lips, and the burps to follow were killing me! so at 4 months it still hurts like heck, and i will not be partaking in the home brew festivities any time soon!!!

    You are doing so AWESOME! Keep up the great work and congrats on finding the love of running! I hear it is a love it or hate it thing, i'm glad you love it! good luck on your 5K you will be running marathons before you know it!!!

    Easter Sunday - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

    Got it, i think this will be a lot easier than copying and pasting everyones info. Especially since we are getting a lot more participation now!! To bad we do not have a separate Challenge board that we can use a spread sheet like form to keep track of our goals and make it a sticky for the new challenges. That would be cool! I love these little challenges to keep me motivated!!!

    Easter Sunday - WHAT WILL YOU WEIGH???

    I'm in! I am not going to be too aggressive, but want to get to an even number so i'm picking 140 as my new goal! that is 17.3 pounds in 10 weeks. I need to get my butt back to the gym! or at least go for walks at lunch instead of eating!!! Now, how to do this little ticker thing??? DUH forgot to add the ticker in...     You did totally awesome on the V Day challenge! You did not realize that you made goal and went over by 20 pounds!!! WOW you are rockin that sleeve!!! Hope that baby is feeling better! Don't you love when you go out to eat and you can just pick off of everyone else's plate to make your meal! it saves so much money!

    Whatcha eating today!!! Monday

    Good Morning! Happy Valentine's day! Hope you all didn't go overboard with the treats this weekend! Well, I didn't make the V-Day challenge, I missed my goal by 2.3 pounds. I'm, not sad, I got my TOM this week, and I haven't been exercising. But that is ok, I know that I will make my next goal. No excuses! Back on track today! PreB - Protein shake, w/ banana, Peanut Butter, milk, SF caramel, and choco protein powder! YUMMY! I split the outcome with mom! B- yogurt w/ fresh blueberries L- trying some chicken salad from Top Tomato (it has cranberries and pecans in it, will report back later) S- mom packed me a mini red velvet cupcake for VDay! D- not sure yet! Have been totally not liking food lately, think i'm coming down with a sinus thing or something, but just thinking about food make be gag! Vites - waiting for the yogurt! Water - need to up this, didn't drink hardly any all weekend! exercise - hopefully hubby and i can get a workout in tonight!!!! NEXT>>>>>>>

    2 weeks post op today

    OH my, I just posted this same ? on the Whatcha eatin? post! I'm 3 months out and my periods are so bad now! My PMS is now EXTREME, lasting for 2 weeks and wanting to bite the heads off of everyone, and the cramps oh just put a knife in my tummy and rip it out! I think it must have something to do with the rapid weight loss and the amount of estrogen out fat cells are releasing! I read that somewhere, but have no idea where, so please do not ask! I read so much about WLS and the affects it has on our bodies and I have been for over 2 years since I got my band! this little bits just pop back into my head now and then!!! But WHY WHY WHY, I have so much work to do today and I cannot think about it with the pain I am in!!!! Ok crying over, back to work! Patti

    Happy Hump Day!!! I've got the worst cramps!! Is it me just me or has everyone's periods gotten worse since VSG? Anyway, just got finished choking down my Protein shake, just not in the mood this morning! I have food, just don't feel like eating eat today, so here is the planned menu, we'll see how much makes it in... B- yogurt w/ blueberries (this may get in there) L- chili (not likely) S- cantaloupe (maybe) D- pizza night at home (don't eat that anyway!!!) vites - i'll try to get them in they are staring at me! Water - it's going to be a struggle! exercise - can i count walking to the BR all day! NEXT>>>>>

    Body chemistry changes with weight loss

    I have noticed that my PMS is now extreme, and it is a LOT longer than the 2 days it used to be it is more like 2 weeks now. My poor family. And my anxiety is through the roof, I was taking Xanax maybe 1 to 2 times a month now I take it like 3 to 4 times a week. I have an appointment with my PCP next week to discuss all of this and get my 3 month blood work done. Maybe my thyroid is jacked up from all of the weight I lost, that would be nice since it took me 4 years to get my anxiety under control! Patti

    Dr Aceves

    Actually, when i was there in October, he mentioned that he had his first leak. He said that is was a revision and it was a band to sleeve surgery with lots of scarring and such. Noting that could be done, but the leak was caught right away and the patient was brought right back in to surgery and re-stitched and the leak was repaired. I would go back to Dr A in a heart beat!

    Is anyone having problems with bowel movement?

    I was having maybe 1 or 2 BMs every 2 weeks, then I noticed that I was going everyday! Thought I was coming down with a bug or something but felt fine otherwise. Then noticed that I was having a little acid back up in my throat and was trying to think what I was doing different that could be causing the acid, notice didn't worry about the BMs. I started eating 6 bite size pieces of cantaloupe at lunch everyday. the cafeteria at work starting putting it on the salad bar and it just looked so darn good that I had to have it! it cost over a buck a day for those 6 pieces, but they got the plumbing moving along! So this weekend I went to the store and got my own, and I will just deal with the extra little bit of acid, cause the weight is also starting to fall off again!!! Patti

    Happy Hump Day! Iced in the casa today! At least there is school although starting late! So far on the eating path i've been ok but it is only 10 am! B - a few handfuls of Honey Nut Cheerios L- i'm thinking tuna D - i'll find something to cook up Lots of hot tea today! vites are in exercise, i'm sure me and the girls will find something fun to do later!!     Well, here we go again with the SnOMG and ICE this time! Seems to be a weekly thing now! But in July when it's 100 degrees out and we're all complaining!!! So, last night mom made Hamburger Helper, my kids love the Crunchy Taco, and they eat it with Whole Grain Scoops! I had a small plate of mostly the meat! My tummy is not liking food for some reason the past few days, could it be PMS? not sure! PreB- Protein shake B- Light n Fit yogurt w/ fresh blueberries L- Roast Beef roll ups no cheese today D- what ever mom makes! hopefully warm and comfy food! vites - left them at home Water - going down exercise - scraping the car, shoveling the driveway! PS - I'm officially out of the 160s!!!! NEXT.....
