  1. I am 8 months out and the only time I do not take my PPI is when I forget to buy it and run out! DUH! but I do have a concern, as I saw on a show, not sure which one, about long term use and liver damage. Do any of you have the same concern? I would love to wean off, but do not want the hunger to return, I do not get heart but but do get the noisy acid churn when I forget to take it, so I know that I am still producing lots of acid.

    Click Protein Powder

Ok so to answer your Question about CLICK! I make it palatable by doctoring it up, I always use milk in my protein drinks. Then I add some flavor, caramel latte anyone, throw some SF caramel ice cream topping in there. Or maybe a half a banana. Hey how about some peanut butter. If you have any of the Torani SF syrups you can make any flavor 'coffee' you want. You can make the Click hot by using warm milk or warm water, notice I said WARM, not hot! OH and I also increase the protein of the drink I am making by doing 1 scoop CLICK and 1 scoop of another protein powder. I still need my morning fix, I usually have it in the form of hot tea, but sometimes if I am not eating good I have a shake!

    Possibly adjusting my goal weight

You could be like me, and have your body tell you when it is happy! I have been at 150 for about 4 months now! Eat the same damn thing every day since surgery! Can't drop another pound to save my damn life and if I do, it is back the next day! I think this is my body's way of saying I'm done for now! I'm in a size 6 jeans, but they are getting loose on me, so maybe in a few weeks a size 4 but who knows! I'm happy a all heck, and I feel freaking great!!! I feel a heck of a lot better than I did at 240 before I got the crap band! so, that is a major plus!!! You will know when you are at your GOAL! Just go with it! I'm going to keep on trying, i just want to have a 'normal' BMI even if it is for 5 minutes just to say I DID IT! But I'm not going to beat myself up to get there, i'm having too much fun enjoying my life right now!
  5. Well, today I had to renew my work ID and take a photo of myself. I have been putting this off for months now because I am totally hating my hair! LOL But I got the hate mail again and this time they copied my boss, so it had to be done! I took a self portrait with my cell phone and up loaded it, but compared it to the old one and WOW!!! what a difference, the old one is almost 5 years old. I could not take a shot of the old one, the security words blocked out the picture. But I was able to find this shot of me from the Devils game that I went to in April of 2010 on my work computer, pretty big difference here too! Even though I have had the band in that time and only lost 50 and gained the same 50 pounds in that time! The huge jersey does nothing for the figure either! LOL
  6. HOLY WOW! Your Head even shrunk! How can you NOT see that! You look amazing! Your before looks like my hubby, and the after looks like he did in HS, mind if I show him what he could look like now!!! keep up the great work!
  7. I like how someone told you your girl won't like you if you lose too much weight, UUMMM how the hell do you know what MY GIrl likes????? thank U very much! Some people are just clueless and need to be bitch slapped in the head. Personally my husband Loves that he can feel and see my bones again like he could when we were in high school, and that I have the energy that I did back then *wink*!!! keep up the work and reap the rewards!

That is so great! you know what is even BETTER, like there can be a better, when you put those size 6s on right out of the dryer and they are loose!!!! Happened to me this morning!!! i'm freaking out today!!! A size 6 is loose on me! NO FREAKING WAY!!! AND I'm not even at GOAL yet! Great job on getting off all those meds and that CPAP machine! keep up the great work! patti

    A visual NSV finally!

AAWW, thank you all! the only reason I am hating the hair is because it takes too long to do it in the morning! the longer hair was more of wash and go! now i have to blow it and style it! Ah the price of looking sweet! And the Jersey, I only was wearing it because I was at the game! I never wore baggy clothes, hated looking like i was wearing tents! You guys are the best!!!
  10. Wow Sarah, at first I thought you meant 2 boxer men, glad you said dogs in your post! those pictures are amazing! you look fabulous!!! can you even remember what it was like carrying around all that extra weight? I have lost a little more than 1 of my twins and when I have to carry her it is like HE**! I can't even fathom being that big all the time! Keep up the great work! those pooches are too cute! Patti

    Lowest weight in 5 years

that Birthday goal will be a drop in the bucket! i bet you will be lower than that come your birthday! You are doing AMAZING!!! Keep up that great work!!! Patti
  12. I hate chewable anything, so i just waited until i was 2 months out and started taking pill forms, but most were way too big for me. Just recently I saw on HSN a multi that is perfect for post-WLS peeps. it has extra D and extra B12. I still take an extra calcium. This is the smallest of capsules and goes down easy. There is no after burps, or tummy troubles at all. Here is a link: http://tinyurl.com/5wkl46e Here is a comparison to another complete: http://img.hsni.com/...Essential-1.pdf It is called Essentials 1! I have so much more energy just after taking it for 2 weeks, and it seems to be all in 1 pill! I really was taken with the way they are made and have no added stuff to hold the pills together. That is a big thing, I am allergic to a lot of that! Forgot to add that it is HSN and if you do not like them for any reason you have 30 days to return whatever you didn't use for a refund!!

    Hit a huge milestone!

That is great, but you can't just say that and leave us hanging!!! What did you change up, slow losers want to know, badly!!! Patti
  14. I have been hypo since i was 13, that is 26 years! Since my sleeve, my level of synthroid has been adjusted 1 time, in 6 months! Prior to the sleeve, it was being adjusted every 3 months. We could just not get it right. I have to say, that losing the initial weight was really easy, a lot easier than with the band, but I am stuck at the last 15 to go for about 2 1/2 months now. But that has NOTHING to do with my thyroid, it has to do with my carb monster and my inability to follow the rules. I have so much energy, it is sick sometimes, my husband doesn't know what to do with me anymore, i am always on the go instead of always on the couch! Life is so much better, and I am now down from 150mcg to 118mcg. It is amazing!!! And my PCP is very happy with my numbers now.

    2 years ago today

Congrats on your 2 years!!! I also chose Dr Aceves due to your rave reviews, as I am a band to sleeve convert. I too will not let that 20 lbs back on no matter what! I have 14 to go to get to goal, and it is all I can do to lose that!!! At the 2 year mark, do you still have restriction? do you get hungry? do you still take a PPI? Just curious!! thanks, Patti
  17. In a year, I bet you will be having that dress taken in! I'm only 6 months out and already down to a size 6 from a very tight, not able to button 18. Things happen, very strange things happen to you right after surgery... My brain is still on a forgetful tangent, but I think that is because of my 4 year old twins and my 9 year old. they do things to make me forget what i was thinking, like move my purse in the morning, take my phone and play with it, put my coffee on the table when everything else that i need to take with me is on the counter! You know they like seeing me run mad, they think it is fun!!! But, compared to the 2nd and 3rd month after surgery, I am so much better, I have so much energy that I can stay awake past 8 PM now! I hadn't realized there were such great shows on TV!!! LOL Trust me it does get better with time, you are still FRESH! Good luck, Patti

    bikini/two piece

I'm a tankini girl all the way. Between the scar from WLS and the stretch marks from twins, my stomach is a hot mess! I also love that the tankinis are easy to wear, when you are drinking or having fun, the potty problem always arises, and I HATE taking a wet one piece off to potty, it never seems to go back on right! Of course now that my thighs do not rub or look like boulders, I may skip the skirt bottoms and go for the regular bikini bottoms! But then there is the issue of landscaping!~!! what a dilemma we girls have!!!!

Hmmm...fell off the wagon it seems

I am very curious to see how the 5DPT works out for you. I am having such issues with carbs that I'm ready to just go crazy! I cannot for the life of me stop eating them. It wouldn't be so bad if they were all healthy carbs like fruit and veggies, but in addition to that i'm having Cookies, cake, donuts, English muffins, sandwiches, and just about anything i can get my scrawny fingers on!! If that 5DPT works for you to get the carbs out, and get you back on track, I will try it! But i'm starting to hate Protein shakes so much!!! Good Luck! Patti

    Anyone tried Mio?

Ok I have tried the sweet tea, and my son likes it a lot. but I have to add this, i didn't know what that glycol stuff Tiffy was talking about is, so I looked it up. OMG on the Wiki for it, these are the uses.... Don't think I will be using that stuff again!!! Propylene glycol is used: As a solvent in many pharmaceuticals, including oral, injectable and topical formulations. Notably, diazepam, which is insoluble in Water, uses propylene glycol as its solvent in its clinical, injectable form.[5] As a humectant food additive, labeled as E number E1520 As an emulsification agent in Angostura and orange bitters As a moisturizer in medicines, cosmetics, food, toothpaste, shampoo, mouth wash, hair care and tobacco products As a carrier in fragrance oils As an ingredient in massage oils In hand sanitizers, antibacterial lotions, and saline solutions In smoke machines to make artificial smoke for use in firefighters' training and theatrical productions In electronic cigarettes, as a vaporizable base for diluting the nicotine liquid As a solvent for food colors and flavorings As an ingredient, along with wax and Gelatin, in the production of paintballs As a moisture stabilizer (humectant) for snus (Swedish style snuff). As a cooling agent for beer and wine glycol jacketed fermentation tanks As a non-toxic antifreeze for winterizing drinking water systems, and in applications where the used antifreeze eventually will be drained into the soil, water, or a septic system.[6] As a less-toxic antifreeze in solar water heating systems As a solvent used in mixing photographic chemicals, such as film developers In cryonics As a working Fluid in hydraulic presses As a coolant in liquid cooling systems To regulate humidity in a cigar humidor As the killing and preserving agent in pitfall traps, usually used to capture ground beetles As an additive to pipe tobacco to prevent dehydration. To treat livestock ketosis As the main ingredient in deodorant sticks. To de-ice aircraft.[7] As an ingredient in UV or blacklight tattoo ink As a lubricant in air conditioning compressors. As a wetting agent, used to determine drying time in paints and coatings

    Here's Some Stall Info...

Thanks for the great info! I have been in this stall for about 6 weeks, and I read this over and over. I think my issue is letting the carbs back in! I have upped my calories and such and still remain the same, but I do eat quite a bit of carbs now that i can again!! I need to start religiously tracking my food again, i think it is mostly the bites here an there, we shall see!! Patti

    Ghrelin and memory / learning?

Funny thing, when I read that, I was like...HHMM that hasn't happened to me! But when I got to this post, I realized that I have been taking anti-deps since my twins were born 4 1/2 years ago. Maybe that is why I do not have foggy brain. But I do realize that my words stumble A LOT, but hey, I haven't slept in 4 1/2 years either!!!

TGIF!! I'm so looking forward to the weekend. Get to go to my all day crop with the girl friends! Starting Monday my ass is back on program for real! So today at 6 months out: B- english muffin ( in honor of the Royal Wedding! LOL) L- will probably be hard boiled egg on a sandwich thin with tomato D- need to scour the freezer to see what we have, mom is no longer watching the girls here, so I have to cook! Unless, i can talk her into cooking at her house! vites - taking right now! Water - on my 3rd cup of tea so about half way there exercise- unless i count folding laundry and vacuuming, probably none today!
