Peanutbutter balls
pattimomof3nj replied to SuperMom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Kelly, Splenda measures spoon for spoon to sugar! so if the recipe calls for 1/2 tsp of sugar you would use 1/2 tsp of Splenda Granular. We only buy the Huge Econo bags too, but since my dad is diabetic, i do most of his baking with it! HTH Patti -

OMG! BEER would be so wonderful! I got the bill for the pool repair yesterday when I got home from my horrible day at work and I just had to drown my sorrows in something! so i opted for a bowl of ice cream! I had 3 small scoops of mint Cookies and cream with 3 cheeries! Well let me tell you, I DUMPED so bad that I passed out on the couch and had the worst cramps all night that i was awake! totally didn't make my day or night any better! should of just blasted the music and danced my sorrows away! I'm sure a cold beer would have been nice, while i floated around my newly fixed pool to the tune of $2k! that would be $17K in the past 4 years that we owned this stupid house that we have dumped into this pool!!!! UGH! -

First of all you are doing GREAT! don't let a .2 up get you down. it is just a little Water, or salt. and second, I love that you were able to go home to spend your daughter's BD with her and go to her favorite place to eat with her and not feel like a FREAK! Isn't that GREAT!!!!! it is so worth all of the other CRAP that we go through, choking down those now nasty shakes, and chuggin all that water! Now, i'm totally in shock that you can even drink a soda! I still cannot, trust me I try, but I just burp and hurt! I did manage to drink a Smirnoff Ice Grape over the weekend, but I had to pour it over ice in a big cup and drink it very slow! And they are not very carbonated to begin with! Guess I will just stick with my CL strawberry lemonade! Have fun on your trip! -

So, I'm here! I have 11 pounds to go! Finally broke my 5 month still at 150. thought I was going to have to change my goal weight to be 150 that my body was just going to rebel and stay there forever. But, for some reason, not too sure, I just started losing again. Here is a little back story. I started this journey in 2007, a year after my twins were born at the highest weight of 241. I got my crap band on Feb 8, 2008. I got down to 169 with that and really like it, but hated the constant fill, unfill every other month! Then my son got sick in 2009, cancer, and I'm going to assume that my band was just a bit too tight. throw in the stress of almost losing a kid, and BAM, not able keep anything down constant throwing up, and band slipped all the way up the esophagus. Had the band unfilled and it never moved back down. Removed that sucker in July 2010. Gained 40 in 2 months! Went to see Dr Aceves on October 15, 2010, the start of my new life!!!! So, here I am 8 months later and 11 pounds to go! I am down from a size 18/20 to a 6, xl shirts to a m, 40DD to a 36c and i have more energy than i know what to do with. But I cannot get these last 11 pounds off!!!!! My mom wants to join Weight Watchers cause she is finding all of the weight I am losing, so I was thinking of joining with her for moral support. Hey, it couldn't hurt right? They do not need to know I had surgery, but my mom would probably blab to them!!! Wow this turned out to be long! I'm going to use this to journal and keep my food like Miss Diva! I think this is a great idea!!! Thanks chicky!! Patti

Hey all, had a wonderful weekend! Went to Sesame Place with the hubby and the kiddies! Walked around all day in a bathing suit and felt AWESOME! Then went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and hubby said I ate like a somewhat normal human being! He was proud of me! I had brisket (the best), and a few fries! It was really good! Sunday, my parents and I took the kids to the outlets to get them Crocs for vacation, and I ate a bunch of crap, but that is ok! I felt great and got some awesome clothes at GREAT prices! At the GAP outlet, I got 3 sun dresses in size M for 60% the marked down price, and they all looked great on me! my hubby cried when I put them on for him! when we were in HS, the only time he saw me in a dress was at Prom or when I was cheering! And I got a pair of short shorts in a size 8! they are a bit big, probably could have gotten a 6, but didn't really feel like trying them on, the place was a mad house!! I'm ok with the 8, my son said I looked like my 15 year old nieces!! And when we are rocking the roller coasters in Busch Gardens in 12 days the 8 will feel great! And I got 2 pair of Jammies in a size S!!!! Mom gave me a great idea for the sun dresses this morning and I think I'm going to go for it! I have the saggy boobie problem, you all know breast feeding 3 kids then loosing so much weight, i totally cannot go bra less, so have to do something!! so she said to just go get a bikini top and wear it under the dresses and everyone will think I just have a bathing suit on! no need for a bra!! Brilliant! Love that woman!!! Let me tell you all! I never in my life even LIKED to go shopping for clothes, even when i was a size 9 in HS, wore jeans and tshirts all the time! I am now a total shopping nut! I love trying on clothes! I feel so pretty now! I even got my hair cut again! I LOVE MY SLEEVE and everything that it has done for me, I don't even care that I miss some food! if i want to try something a bite is all i need and i'm over it so fast! it si such a great feeling!!! Oh and I'm only 5 pounds away from GOAL!!!!! Ok that was long winded!!! Have a great day! i'm going to!! -
Changed my goal and now I'm in the home stretch!
pattimomof3nj replied to Shanny's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Isn't it weird how when you are closer to the end you pick at the crap! We were shopping this weekend and the kids had those damn Auntie Ann's pretzels, Oh my Goodness they are so f*cking good! of course I had a few of the bits from the girls! They never finish, but never want to share!!! I still lost a pound over the weekend eating the crap and drinking the McDs frozen lemonade! love them too, only they give me MAJOR heart burn! need to remember to take a Zantac before I drink another one!! Good luck to you!!! -
Thinking about changing my goal
pattimomof3nj replied to Shanny's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You know, i have been seriously thinking about changing my goal too! I have been struggling to get to the goal I set for myself of 135, and when I reached 150 it seemed that my body was comfortable there, now i am down to 146! I think I'm going to change my goal to 140 which will still put my in the 'normal' range of the BMI scale. It just seems that these last 10 pounds are going to be the hardest to get off! But I will, if it kills me! Like you said, our bodies will let us know when it reaches where it wants to be! Good luck in your journey to your goal! Patti -
I see you all are using an iPhone or iPod app for this, do any of you know if there is an Android app? I just switched out my iPhone for an Android and would love to do the C25K! I want to get rid of my thigh giggle! I just discovered that I LOVE wearing dresses, especially those little cute summer ones!!!! Thanks, patti

Ok so here I am day 1... Started off ok for a Friday Morning, normal khaos in my house got to work late as usual, but hey they don't care as long as I put in my 8 hours and get the job done! I just found out 2 weeks ago that my project was getting re-org'd, so I had until July1 to find another position, well I just got the news that I found one! start next Monday! that is good, but now a job that I would Love to do, but a job. there will be no stress so I'm happy with that, no need to eat extra calories! today's food intake looks like this: dannon light & fit vanilla 80 cal; 5g pro 1/2 cup blueberries 41 cal; .5g pro 2 oz roast beef 80 cal; 14g pro 2 oz colby jack cheese 160 cal; 16g pro 11 pretzel crisps 110 cal; 3g pro ?? Ultimate Breakfast Round 270 cal; 5g pro Not sure what I will have for dinner yet! -
To be honest my husband was always a long hair guy. Then when I had my lap band and got my hair cut should length once it started thinning, it never really got too thin (thick mane here) he really liked it. Now, when I got my sleeve, and it REALLY got thin and I went one day and told the guy that does my hair "now that I have a neck again, let's show it off" and he chopped it all of and gave me a short doo, my husband LOVES it! He says i'm so sexy now and cannot stop kissing my neck! So, just because he says he likes long hair doesn't mean he cannot change his mind. Once your features change and your hair accentuates your beauty intead of hides it, he my just LOVE it!!! Patti Oh yeah, and if he doesn't, it will grow back! and right now I'm due for a cut and my hair is growing back curly, never had curly hair in my life!!! Go figure!

I'm so right there with you! I give you so much credit for cutting out the snacks! I have tried so many times, but just cannot do it! I will say that I 'mostly' snack on fruit and healthy stuff, but the occasional cookie, or chocolate does get in there! I am only 8 months out and I have 11 pounds to get to my personal goal of 135. My Dr did not give me a goal and everyone keeps telling me I am small enough, but I want to be at a NORMAL BMI! and I feel that 135 is a good place. The summer is going to be the hardest with all the BBqs and parties, but i will do my best. Together we can do this honeymoon or not!!!

You look adorable! and you are right, we should all be proud that we are not in a box or on our way to be in a box six feet under! I for one do not care that my skin is saggy (I also have 3 kids (a set of twins)), my husband says I'm a sexy b*tch and so do my kids for that matter! I will be rockin my bathing suit and my saggy skin this year and if anyone has a problem with it they do not have to look at me! I worked damn hard to get where I am and I will walk with my head up way high and be proud of it!!! Patti -

Still craving carbonation
pattimomof3nj replied to AMLP's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I used to have a Lap Band so I haven't had soda or carbonation since 2008. When I had the band out for that 12 weeks, OMG i was in Coke heaven!! Everyday a 20 oz was in my tummy, can you see why i gained that 40 lbs so fast! But I must say that since I have been sleeved, I have had a few sips here and there. No real DESIRE to drink one, just needed a sip of something and one of the kids had it. The other day we were opening the pit (I mean pool) and it was about 95 out, and a nice ICE COLD beer was just what was in order. I drank about a half can in 2 nice long slow sips. Then back to folding that damn cover. By the time I was ready for my next sip the beer was hot and I was done! this past Saturday we went to the boardwalk and during a little rain shower took the kids to get some food, and they had half priced drafts, 3 sips and i was drunk! Not fun at all, especially when the kids wanted my 'skinny ass' quoted from one of the 4 year olds to go on the rides with her. Needless to say, mommy had a bad tummy ache and was hungover before we left! Oh yeah, I'm 8 months out!!! -

YAY, I can finally post something in this thread again! Don't know if it is from the terrible heartburn or the fact that I have been working in the yard so much, but I will take the loss as a loss and be proud! Now to try to remember those numbers, wait, they've been the same for the past 5 months!!! SW 150...... CW 147...... Goal 140..... Lbs to Goal.... 7!!!!! -
Help!!! Ok, so I ran out of my PPI for.a few days, but I got some and am back on it, but the horrible heartburn will not go away! I have been taking Pepcid, Zantqc, and another gas meds in the house until I could get my Prilosec back in my hands! I cannot seems to eat or drink anything wiggly the lump in my throat, the burn, and pain in my chest. Problem is that I don't have a local bariatric Dr, so I do not know what to do!!! Any advice???? Thanks! Patti

Persistent heartburn HELP!
pattimomof3nj replied to pattimomof3nj's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No tums, just Malox, Pepcid, and Zantac! Another thing I noticed is that I threw up a few times in the past 2 days, never did that since surgery! Now, I just ate 2 shrimp, and feel so sick! Also been dizzy, light headed, my speech is all jacked like the words are coming out backwards, I told the girls to keep the Water in the pool instead of the tub! Weird **** like that. My hand keeps getting numb. So you think even if I just missed the Prilosec for 2 - 3 days it will still take 10-14 days to build back up?? I sure hope not!!! Thanks for your help!!! -
Anyone else at 8 months (or so) out?
pattimomof3nj replied to PamelaAM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For me, I have been stuck at 150 for at least 3 months. I have about 15 to go to get to my goal! I know I have been adding in carbs a lot more than i should be, having a sandwich here an there, but by that I mean a tuna on one of those thin things that they call bread these days?!? Then, I have been adding at least 4 servings of fruit to my day, I don't know been craving all sorts of fruit, could that be BAD?, better than candy, those are GOOD carbs right? I pretty much eat Yogurt with fresh blueberries for BFast everyday or a Protein Shake if I have time to make it. For lunch it is what ever left over meat or deli meat roll ups or chili. for dinner, what ever meat my mom cooks and a tablespoon of each of the sides that i never finish. I always measure out the meat to be between 2.5 and 3 ounces. I usually snack on fruit or nuts or beef Jerky, except when it is TOM then i have pretzel crisps with cheese or apples or PB on them! and I drink hot tea all day and LOADS of Crystal Light. I even pretty much gave up on my nightly cocktails since being sleeved! BUT I'M WEARING A SIZE 6!!!!! -
I weigh things like meat, tuna, dense Proteins. I measure things like fruits, veggies, Pasta and rice (when i chose to eat those). There are just some things that need to be weighed and some the need to be measured, know what i mean. Take 2 oz of strawberries and a 1/2 cup of strawberries, very different. Or 2 oz of tuna or 1/2 cup of packed tuna. I got the biggest loser scale from Bed Bath & Beyond with a 20% coupon, and have had it since I got my crap band in 2008! Just my thoughts!

You know, I never ever realized how much I depended on food emotionally until this past weekend. Let's just say that I have had a a BAD time, and I did try to turn to my old comfort more than one time, and FAILED miserably on every occasion except one! We opened the pool to find one of the underground skimmer lines has busted over the winter and we need to have someone come out and fix it, there is Water building up behind our brand new (last summer's heartbreak $8K)liner! So, I made a batch of cinnamon buns for Breakfast for the kids ya know, and tried to eat one, NOPE not happening! Then we were at the pool store so we stopped at smoothie King to get me some Protein and I order a Medium Gladiator Magosteen, thought I would chug it down (2 hours later), at least it was healthy! Tried to have a good humor bar or 3, got so sick I puked my guts up! Next day the kids want BK for breakfast on the way back to the pool store, i ordered a sausage biscuit, ate half got sick, drank half of the BK JOE, got sick. This drowning my sorrows is not good for my tummy!!! Thinks I'll just cry, it will be easier on me in the long run. Still have no idea what this is all going to cost us, just know that I will not try to eat my way out of it again! as is sip on my hot tea, and eat my protein rich foods that I planned out for the day!
-
I saw the same thing ans was wondering if it really worked! I would love to show off my skinny legs now, but they are hairy and would seriously need to be shaved everyday! and I really do not have time for that! but man $450 is a big chunk of change!!!

My "Ah-hah!" Moment...
pattimomof3nj replied to vanishingvixen's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
AMAZING! That is the EXACT reason why I first has WLS to have a better life with my kids. And having my revision to the sleeve is making that a reality! Your post made me cry tis morning! I can picture me going on all the rides with my mini me's in VA in July, my Keira wants to go on all the big roller coasters, and for some reason I think she will finally be tall enough, and I am skinny enough! YAY i love roller coasters! We are going to have so much fun with our mini me's in the years to come! Thanks to our sleeves!!! Patti
