  1. I had my surgery on Oct 15, 2010, almost a year. I hit my goal about 7 1/2 - 8 months. my goal was a normal BMI, so for my height that was 140. I can get in a size 4 jeans now, I can wear a bikini, and I love life! I need to tone up a bit, and get the girls refilled like Irene did, but hey all in due time! Go for it you will not regret 1 second!!

    Breast Loss

I'm right there with ya! Breast feeding 3 kids (twins for that matter), and a breast reduction in between! I now have raisins. Hubby is all for a lift and fill up! It was funny on vacation to Virginia, we were walking around the Water park and he would say "that's a nice size, those look good, they would look good on you!" it was so funny. Then he would say " you know not that i'm looking or anything cause you are so much hotter than they are anyway, just comparing sizes for you baby!"

    What is considered Failure??

Maybe it means failure to complete the 6 months of medically supervised diet. Like if you start then stop and start again 3 months later. You know what I'm getting at here. Like if you are a habitual re-starter, someone that has a slight gain, quits, then restarts, gains, quits starts again. That is a waist of their time and resources and someone that is not going to take WLS seriously and will be a failure in their book. At least that is my interpretation of it. I got lucky, I started my 6 months and my work changed insurance company, then I didn't have to do it, 2 months into it, go my lap band the next month! Good luck! Patti

    Vitamin Suggestions

All of the gummies made me so sick! As soon as I was able to, I started taking pills. I just skipped the Vitamins until i reached that point. You are not going to get deficient in a few weeks. And your Protein shake if it is worth the milk you are putting it in will cover the vitamins you need until then. My whole entire life I never took vitamins, and never had a problem, but I figure now that I am not eating nearly as much real food, I better supplement. So, I found these on HSN and I have to tell you that my hair and nails have never looked better. I no longer get that LCN crap on my nails and they are just as long and strong naturally. I also feel really good when I remember to take them every day. I do forget some days, but hey I am human and have 3 kids running me in circles in the morning! Hope this helps! Patti

    What are your favorite.....

My absolute favorite thing is that I can take 2 bites of something/anything an be totally satisfied with it. Totally pisses my mom off! We go out to lunch and I just take a few bites of her meal. People call me skinny, and I just keep walking like they aren't talking to me. Saw my friends husband the other day and he gave me a hello hug and nearly passed out, said where the hell did the rest of you go! Shopped in Victoria's secret for the first time in my life and my husband didn't care that I spent $150 on bras and panties. Can shop at the Gap again, hadn't since Jr High. OH had MOM pick me up a pair of size 4 pants today when she went to Khol's to return the cheapo bras I pick up there. she was really pissed about that too!!! the thing that I HATE most is that I am always FREEZING!!! On vacation it was 100 degrees and I was wearing capris and a t-shirt and was just comfortable! Good Luck! You will LOVE your sleeve!!!

    My "biggest" NSV Yet

OH that is so wonderful, and just think you do not get all the morning sickness, the sore back, the sore b@@bies! You just get the adorable after, the cute little baby!!! You are so Blessed! God does work in wonderful ways doesn't he! Remember age is only a number it is how you feel that determines your true age, and from what I've seen you are still a very young healthy person!!!
  7. OMG, are you eating cantaloupe??? when i was that early out I was eating so much of it, it tasted so darn good!!! soft and sweet and YUMMMM. well anyway.. the acid burn got sooo bad. couldn't for the life of me figure out what the hell was doing it. talked to the pharmacist at the supermarket who took notice of the 3 in my cart. she said 'are you eating all that?' to which i responded 'oh yes, i just has WLS and it is so good'. she said sweetie that is your problem, too much of that will eat away at your tummy. i never knew it. Cut way way back and the acid stopped. JUST A THOUGHT. check what you are eating and drinking!!!

Coming up on my one-year anniversary

Congrats on your awesome loss! I cannot wait to try that awesome soup!!!
  9. Well, it did take me about an hour. I was watching tv, hubby just told me we owed the township $1500 for the sewer bill seems he was forgetting to pay it. And the kids were out riding their bikes. I grabbed a sleeve and went to town!
  10. I'm in the same boat as you. I started taking my master's classes again, and on top of full time work and parenting. I'm overbooked. so I've been stress eating and gained 3 pounds. I have realized what I am doing and I am trying to nip it in the bud before it becomes 5 or 10. I finally reached my 100 pounds down from when i started my WLS journey with my lap band in 2008, and I really do not want to get back to where I was. I have not been exercising, and have not really been drinking too much water, mostly iced coffee! I know I have been adding carbs to my diet and I know what I have to do to get rid of them, i do not think the pouch test will help is as we do not have a pouch, we have a stomach all be it smaller. we have to do a cleanse or cold turkey it to get the white carbs/sugar out of our systems, and it is going to SUCK big time!!! Last night i ate about 15 oreos, then I felt like crap for 2 hours! but today the scale showed 1 pound down, but tomorrow it will be back! I just have to stop and get the crap out of the house like Kelly said!!!

    eggface's awesome recipes

I make her 'bites', but never get a chance to freeze any of them as my kids and husband eat them all! the last batch i made them with cheese steak onions, peppers and Colby jack cheese. YUMMY!!! those things were gone in 5 minutes, even the 4 year olds LOVED them!!! that is what is great about them, you can add whatever you are in the mood for at the moment! I am not into trying to make protein donuts, so I just get the real thing and have a bite or 2 and give the rest to one of the kids when the mood strikes, but really I would rather be a skinny b***h than have a donut! LOL
  15. thanks chicky, but i want my saggy butt to look like yours!!! You are looking so freaking HOTT!!!!!
  16. Ok i'm game! 10/15/2010: Just shy of 10 months I've lost 62.5 pounds, .5 away from GOAL!!! (NORMAL BMI) Edit to add that since i started my lap band journey, i'm down 99.5!

Stop bringing food to my house!

Oh so you've got on of those too! My MIL brought some good ol' KFC to my house the day i got my lap band! Wasn't that just so sweet of her!! I mean my husband and kids need to eat, but my kids were 5 and the girls were 1 1/2 maybe at the time! And she brought over like 2 buckets of chicken and about 10 large sides! Hoe freaking sweet to have that smell in your house after you just had surgery and can only drink freaking water!!!! Not that I was hungry or anything, but really!!!
  18. Ok i have a really silly question. for a techy, geek, I really feel dumb right now. How do I find my Facebook URL? I didn't even know I had one!!! thanks!

    Breakfast Meatballs

These sound super yummy! Lots of Protein for someone that has recently turned to toast for breakfast ! Are they east to heat up in the micro, so I can take them to work? Also, when you cook them/re-heat them, does the cheese melt out? That would sort of defeat the whole point of putting it in there, right? thanks for sharing, needing some new easy non carb breakfast ideas!
  20. Well DARN, where has this been all this time!!!!! thank you so much for pointing that out to me!!! Love you girls!

How to eat at McDonald's after the sleeve....

Tiffykins, I had Moe's while on vacation last week for the first time, and I LOVED it. We do not have them here in Jersey! I so wish we did! I got a quesadilla and just ate the insides after i loaded it up with all the fresh free toppings, half for lunch and half for dinner. The kids even loved it! To the OP, at McD's I usually have one or two of the kids nuggets, but i'm not ever hungry so I just let the kids eat, and I'l drink my Water. On vacation last week, we stopped there for lunch before hitting the parks, to save some cash, so I got the yogurt parfait, I ate that minus the fruit. the fruit was mushy. I love the Wendy's half size salads and the chili, that is my go to fast food when I am out and about and need to eat, otherwise, i just have Jerky in the car. I can honestly sat that I lost 3 pounds on vacation eating a bunch of crap foods, pizza 4 times, hot dogs, McD's, Joe's Crab Shack, Moe's, park food and lots of alcohol. I made a promise to my family that I was going to have fun and not worry about what i was eating, and I didn't. the only problem I had was with ice cream that we had for dinner one night (the kids were really good and they picked that), I dumped on it! After that, I decreased my ice cream servings from 2 scoops to 1! much better! Oh, and after all that I am only 1 pound away from GOAL!!
  22. Ok so it was only in my back yard and in front of my hubby, mom and kids, but I did it!! A bikini top and 'boy' shorts (I think that is what they are called)! And when I walked past the sliding doors to the dining room, I had to walk back a few times to make sure I was really me! except for the scars on the tummy from surgery, I couldn't tell it was me! I wanted to cry! I purchased the top to wear under the sundresses that i got for vacation next week because I cannot stand to have my bra straps hanging out, and do not like the way the teens let theirs hang. I think that looks trashy! And at my age, I really do not need my bra showing! So I figured a bathing suit top looks much better! The girls may be empty sacks of skin, but they still need lots of support (c cup)!!!!! Only 4 pounds to a NORMAL BMI!!! and my personal OFFICIAL GOAL!!!!!! I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!
  23. My 9 month surgiversary is on the 15th but I will be on Vacation so I'm doing my update today! For the past 9 months I think I have been doing pretty good. I am 5 pounds away from having a normal BMI which is my ultimate GOAL! Once I get there I will see where I want to be. People are telling me I am way too thin now, and I am looking a little on the sick side. I think once I have my plastics, to get rid of the 'twin skin' that is what i call it, and get the boobies lifted I will look good! I an wearing a size 6 pants and shorts, and a size small/ medium shirts and dresses. I am so happy with my life right now i could not tell you! I love shopping and trying on clothes! It is the best!!! My kids love when i bring home new clothes and my husband thinks i'm totally HOT! food wise i can eat whatever i want! i found a new love of salad, I just need to slow down until my intestines get used to eating it, can you say SUPER GAS!!! Here are my stats as of today! weight 145 neck13.25 arms 12.25 bust 40.5 waist 31 hips 36.25 thighs 21.5 the difference from surgery date is: weight 58.9 neck 2 arms 3.5 bust 6.75 waist 12.5 hips 12 thighs 6 I think that is pretty damn amazing! so if you are on the fence or thinking, stop and do it! Patti on my way to Busch Gardens to party in sundresses and short shorts with tank tops, go me!!!!

    Some Serious Complaints!

OMG! I used to hate shopping with a passion! I never went to the store, would just give my mom money and tell her to pick me up something! Now I LOVE going in and trying to find size 6 pants and small and medium shirts and dressed to try on! it is like a fashion show, and my kids love it! then when i get home and try it all on for the hubby he is all in tears at how HOT i look!!! I tell you this, buying clothes at size 16/18 sometimes 20 sucked cause the choices were minimal if you could even find that size, now to find a size 6 is getting difficult because not every store carries that size either! I had to settle on a size 8 Gap shorts for vacation because they didn't have a 6! BOO HOO POOR ME!!!! ISN'T IT FREAKING GREAT!!!!!!!

    Peanutbutter balls

Someone mentioned Rice krispies, I would try one of the Chex cereals slightly crushed up for this. My kids LOVE all of the Chex cereals so, I'm thinking the Wheat or Honey Nut. Maybe even the Multi Bran sounds like it may be good! Just a thought, and the Honey nut are gluten free!!! Edit to add: I just checked the stats online, and the Rice checks actually have the best stats among them all!
