Mine is about 3 inches above my belly button and then about an inch to the left. I've never heard of it being high up on the chest like the OP. I would think that would be visible. When a friend of mine was having chemo that's where they put her's and it was VERY visible.

I'm not a morning person so I could never take my own advice -lol - but could you guys try walking in the morning instead?

I discovered I like the canned chicken too! I buy the generic brand at Wal Mart or Swanson's from the groc store. They both taste the same to me but the brand from Wal Mart has (in a 2oz serving) 10 calories more but 1 gram more of protein. It does smell like tuna when you open the can and drain it but not fishy when you eat it.

My burping is out of control too - lol!!

I don't know if we're allowed to post links here, so I sent it to you via PM. There was just a thread about this on OH.com

Does the sipping ever end!!! and other reasons to compain.
Candle replied to sweetspot021's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 8/27 and I was able to move on from the sipping stage after about a week. I drink the same as I always did at this point. I just try not to "gulp" because I think that contributes to a lot of air going down. I have been burping A LOT as it is. (it's a joke in my house at this point). I try to get between 80-100ozs of liquid per day. I transitioned to solid foods this week. Are you still on a liquid diet? Not even mushies? Dave – the mug warmer is an AWESOME idea! Could you put a little saucer plate on there? Since I just started solids I am taking it very slow with my meals and noticed most times things get cold before I can finish. -
Are things of this nature (fizzy) ok to drink or is that in the same vein as carbonated drinks? During the winter I usually drink an Emergen-C every morning.

In addition to all the stuff going on in your head - TRUST ME, I'm right there with you ... it could be the anesthesia. It stays in your system for up to 2 weeks. For some people it can cause a slight depression. You've just made a MAJOR life change - you are allowed to feel the way you do right now. You are completely normal and it will pass.

So I know that this is on the food board...

Shelli - sorry to hear about the stuck episode!!! I've heard papaya enzyme tablets help too. I bought some to have on hand at the Health food Store. Can you tell me more about spaghetti squash? I keep seeing that mentioned but I don't know anything about them. When you bake it and the insides are soft, then you scrape it and it comes out looking like spaghetti noodles? -
Just because you CAN eat the same size bites/portions that you could before, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Even if you aren't worried about damaging your band (!) at least for behavior modification. Take care of yourself. I know how hard it is. I don't have any restriction yet either. (I actually dreamed about eating sugar cookies last night - lol)

Yeah - that is a lot! We're doing all 4 Disney parks and Universal. My boyfriend has never been and I've been twice ... once as a kid and last time in my late teens. The little one is my nephew, he's 8, so it should be really fun. He's excited!! We're flying in on a Sun and leaving on a Sat. That doesn't leave time for much else. My boyfriend also wants to go to Cape Canaveral but sadly, I don't think we'll have time. I didn't know there was a Medieval Times in Orlando - I'm adding that to the list. I've never been to one. Are you looking at Windsor Hills? I know there are a few similar places in that area.

The link has been posted but as far as "use" goes - just like regular PB. You mix it with a little Water to use as a spread (on sandwiches, fruit, etc) and I've mixed it dry, in with my oatmeal and Protein shake. I'm going to try a peanut chicken recipe in the crock pot this week too. It's pricey (with the shipping costs) but was worth it to me. I LOVE PB!

The PB2 is REALLY REALLY good. I mixed it as powder in oatmeal and in my choc Protein shake. You can add a little Water to make it a spread (like regular PB) and I put it on a banana and an apple. My boyfriend put some on a sandwich with jelly today to test it out and said it tasted no different than using the Skippy he normally uses. <O:p</O:p I'm going to make peanut chicken (from the recipes on bellplantion.com) in the crock pot with it in the next few days. I'll report back.

I need advice guys!

Like others said - everyone is different but I had almost no pain at all. I felt a burning sensation on my stomach when I was in the hospital. By the time I got home, it was gone and I never needed anything other than liquid Tylenol. I was amazed. I was sore for a few days - like I had done a million crunches. I had some gas pains on days 3-5 but they weren't even that bad. You have to move around A LOT. I'm sure you'll do fine! You'll have someone with you, right? Having my boyfriend right there when I woke up, really helped me feel at ease. -
We're going to Disney in 3 weeks. It's 3 adults and a child and we rented a townhouse in Windsor Hills. It's 5 miles from Disney. I'll post my experience when I get back - I'm still a little nervous about renting from an individual. We found people that live near us so my boyfriend says he will go over there and raise some hell if we get screwed somehow - lol! (we paid with a credit card) Here's the listing: Windsor Hills Resorts - Townhouse I thought this was a cool site too!! Magic Kingdom At Large

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
Candle replied to MissNilsa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm trying to built up the courage to join a gym. (I've NEVER done that before) I'm about to switch to solids and I don't want that extra 200 calories per day to catch up with me! -
Ok - it's been another 2 weeks. I've lost 6 more lbs and have 10lbs to go by vacation on 10/21! *fingers crossed* I have increased my walk with the dog to 1 hour every day. That seems to be about both of our limits right now. I'm hoping to be brave enough to join a gym when I get back from vacation. I do have a Gazelle that I've never really used - I guess I should try to get my money out of that stupid thing in the mean time - lol. How's everyone else doing??

I didn't know they were showing this on Discovery Health. I started watching about 1/2 way through the season when it was originally airing on TLC. Thanks for the heads up - I'd like to try and catch the episodes I missed.

port site pain and burning post surgery
Candle replied to alandork's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do you have a fever or any puss/fluid coming out of the incision site? I think it just takes awhile to heal. I felt that burning pain when I was in the hospital but once I got home it was mostly just sore. It will be swollen and tender for awhile. I kept ice on mine almost constantly for about a week. I'm a month out and twisted wrong in bed the other night and mine's been sore for a few days. I hope you feel better. -
Good to know - I don't feel any restricton and I'm about to go to solids. I'll be careful. Did you try and eat it in one bite?
-
I swallowed a small piece of gum

How are you? Has it come out? -
I had to have one. It wasn't a big deal. They should put you under for it and it only takes about 10 minutes. They put a little camera down your throat and take some pictures. I had to take the day off work and couldn't drive for 24 hours because of the anesthesia. All doctors are different; some only require an upper GI be done. Even though I got whacked with a surprise bill for a $500 co-pay for this procedure because it's "in patient", I'm glad I had it done. They found I had the start of 2 small ulcers which seem to be ok now. She thinks I had been taking too much Advil. (which I had been)
