Good point TulipStar. I forgot to mention - I have no restriction yet. Maybe things will change once I have a few fills.

I agree!<O:p</O:p <O:p</O:p Not only is this site a great wealth of information but it's also a great source of support and encouragement.<O:p</O:p<!-- google_ad_section_end --><!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

Nana - I've recently donated a bunch of clothes to Goodwill, thrown out some, and have some listed on ebay currently. Getting things tailored never really occurred to me. Does anyone know if sizes at The Avenue are off? Earlier in the week I was marveling at getting into size 20 jeans and I then got a pair of 18's at The Ave yesterday!! They are a little tight but still .... I was blown away!!!

Mine says 3 meals, no Snacks. I snack though and they haven't given me any grief over it. A normal day looks like this: Breakfast 10am lunch 1pm dinner 6-7pm Since I eat dinner kind of late, I need something between 3-4pm. I almost ALWAYS have a 1/2 cup cottage cheese and/or fruit ... occasionally a yogurt. If I eat dinner too early, I end up looking for something sweet later at night. If I do indulge (2 to 4 days per week), I TRY to make it low carb and under 100 calories. (4oz pudding or 100 calorie pack or a few hershey kisses) You'll figure out what works best for you.

Not feeling any "different" after having surgery ??
Candle replied to Mrs SmartyPants's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're not abnormal. I'm 3 months out and only had 1 small fill so far ... I don't feel any different either. I still wonder if they remembered to put a band in there - lol. I didn’t have a lot of pain or gas. I feel very blessed to have had such an easy recovery. I've been working really hard and seen rapid weight loss, despite my lack of restriction. You’re doing great. It’s a little out of the ordinary to have NO post-op diet instructions. Please take it slow. -
For me, I hope there's at least a difference - doesn't have to be a big one - lol. Fill # 2 is on 12/17 and I'm praying for at least a little restriction before Christmas so I don't eat like I did on Thanksgiving :phanvan

I did kinda bad yesterday too - you aren't alone. I even had a piece of pumpkin pie. (Wish I'd looked up the calories on that BEFORE I ate it :faint:) Luckily the scale didn't show it - stayed the same as yesterday. I think the only thing that saved me was that besides dinner, the only thing I had eaten that day was 2 deviled eggs. And then right after dinner we took the dog for a long walk. Oh well - back on the wagon today. I'm going for my 2nd fill on 12/17 - I hope and pray that it at least gives me a little restriction before Christmas!!

ProForm seems to be the way to go. The search continues ...

Melissa - you look awesome! I can see it in your face and even your shoulders. I cut my hair since being banded too. 12 inches!

Has anyone ever heard of needing donated blood for the surgery?
Candle replied to thundandlight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As others have said, it would be REALLY out of the ordinary for you to need a transfusion. To put your mind at ease, you could always donate blood to be used if you did need a transfusion for some reason. Talk to your doc. -

PB2 is a powdered Peanut Butter. You can mix it into things - I mix it in my oatmeal a lot. You can also mix it with Water and use it as a spread like regular PB. My boyfriend says it's not as sweet as regular PB but I think it tastes the same. On the website, click the nutrition tab. It has a 1/4 of the fat and calories of regular PB.

I have a full band yet can eat anything!!
Candle replied to Seaman's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was also going to say possibly a stretched pouch? (or a slip - could be the cause of the reflux?) Your doctor should be able to tell under floro. How much confidence do you have in your new doctor? Recommending you take bigger bites and chew less concerns me a little. How experienced is he with the Band? I hope things get better for you. -
No one else wants to share thier pics? (If you haven't taken any yet, I recommend you do. It's the only way I have seen my loss so far. It really does help)

I tried a few different Protein powders and unjury was by far my favorite. I didn't like the vanilla but the chocolate and unflavored are great. You can order samples on their site. I blend mine with a few strawberries or a little banana.

I felt this way too. It passed pretty quickly. Hang in there!

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
Candle replied to MissNilsa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow - glad to hear it wasn't too serious. Please take care of yourself. -
I think I can already tell a difference after my first treatment. I'm paying the same - $150 per session. (neck, chin & upper lip) I took the RX for the numbing cream. It was only a $10 co-pay.

Candle replied to sherilynn's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I think that's correct. If you reply to the email then they will obviously have your email address.
