I found the post you were talking about and read it, it is so nice to hear other hypo-thyroid people having positive things to share with us. Thanks for sharing the information. I am like you when I see the huge losses in the same time when I am following my doctors orders exactly and am losing so slowly, but like you I am thankful for what I have lost. Good luck on your journey!

I am glad that I am not the only one. I am wearing a size smaller in jeans, but my shirts are not changing much yet. I hope that you are right about the scales showing added muscle weight instead of me weight. I am working out in some way everyday and have wondered if I need to take a break for a day or so, might do that this weekend. The instructor at my gym always says that you can weigh 250 and look like you weigh 200 if you are losing inches and toning up, so for now that will be my thought to. Thanks for the encouragement and the understanding. Good luck to you in this journey.

There is one of those at my doctors office, he had me get on it at my first appointment, but hasn't mentioned it since then. I may ask about it at my next appointment. Thanks for the idea!!

Thanks! I like your saying and will keep it in mind as I make this journey. This journey is going to teach me patience as well I think.

I had the same problem as you did. My surgery was on 4/22 and on 4/17 I got up with a terrible sore throat and sinus infection. Went to the doctor on Monday to get meds to try and clear it up. The nurse at my surgeon's office told me that as long as my lungs were clear on surgery morning it would be no problem. The meds did their job in 4 days and I was banded at 8:30 that Friday morning and on my way home at 11:30 the same morning. Good luck and be sure and drink lots of fluids to stay hydrated. Let us know how things go for you!!

Hi, I'm not sure if it is offered in your area or by your provider, but my surgery center in Texarkana, TX has an agreement with Care Credit Health Care Finance for 12 month no interest. It is basically a credit card for health purposes if your doctor/hospital accepts it. I was approved for the amount that my insurance wasn't covering in about 3 minutes and I have a year to pay it off with no interest. It might be worth checking into and good luck with finding a way to complete your process. This link takes you to their site and it might help provide some more answers for you. My link

Hi All, I was banded on the 22nd, a little sore the next day but nothing major. I went back to work on the 25th and am looking forward to getting back in the gym. I am on liquids until May 6th, but it is really not being too bad, I have started thinning down cream of chicken soup for dinner and it is great. I go back for my first visit on May 10th and hopefully everything will be going like he expects. My steri-strips are still in place and not peeling yet so I'm not sure what my incisions are looking like. I went to my PCP this morning for routine blood work and according to his scale i am down 8 lbs from surgery morning, so I am a happy bandster. Good Luck to All, Leslie

Hello All, I am waiting for my final phone call with the time that I have to be at the surgery center in the morning. I am nervous, anxious and a little scared, but am hoping that a slight sinus issue I have had this week will not cause a problem. I started taking meds on Monday trying to keep it from getting too bad, has mainly affected my throat and my lungs are clear, no fever at all, so I am hoping that my surgeon says come on in. I have been on my pre-op diet since the 7th and really can't stand the thought of doing it again or worse yet staying on it til I am rescheduled. Well really just wanted to share my worries with some that would understand while I am waiting for my phone to ring. Hopefully this time tomorrow I will be posting that I am a bandster!!

Surgery tomorrow....I hope!
Fessie replied to Fessie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am officially a bandster....woot woot. I got home about 1:30 this afternoon, did the breathing thing they sent home with me, took a nap. I woke up feeling good and could even sleep on my side. I did get out and walk about 1/4 of mile to work the gas out after my nap but think I will just veg out the rest of the evening. I hope all the others banded today had the same kind of experience. I hope tomorrow is as good as today or maybe even better!! I will be waiting to hear from everyone that was banded today on their experiences. -

Thanks for the good thoughts, got the call finally. The nurse told me to be there at 7:15 tomorrow morning unless she called me back after talking to the Dr. about my sinus issue. I will post with results tomorrow!! Thanks again!! -

I finally found that the soy protein from EAS is the one that I can stand enough to get thru this. Good luck! I am looking forward to following each other and keeping track with our progress!! -
My NEW lease on life arrives in 3 weeks

Hi, I am relatively new here myself, have only made one other post, but I have been lurking like crazy trying to learn everything I can. I am on day 7 of my pre-op diet and go this afternoon to do all my pre-certification and registrations for surgery on the 22nd. The pre-op has been easier than I thought it would be and I have lost 10 lbs so far, but I am already looking forward to the mushy food stage. I am starting to get a little nervous, but I figure that is normal. Good luck with your pre-op diet, hopefully it will be easy for you too. I plan to take a before picture the night before my surgery so I can keep a good record of my body changing, I will post pics soon as well. Hope to hear from you again soon. -
