I feel the same way.. I had surgery Monday and I was ok the first few days. But the last 2 I felt that way. So I just have a protein shake in the morning and it stills lasts for a little while after that as well. I have no temp as well and I'm able to check my blood pressure by myself too and that comes back just fine. Interested to see what other vets say

Well its almost here!!!! Excited and nervous like the rest of them.

If anyone is not watching this show.. its on the oprah channel on Tuesday night.!!!!! Finally someone is paying recognition to overweight people instead of only anorexics and buliemics. I have waited for so long for people to realize that being this overweight isn't about just your liking of food, it is way deeper than that. This show helps me so much in just the two episodes that aired. Weight is a symptom of whats really going on. I will be having surgery Monday and I am prepared to be in therapy(have been) for the long haul working on my addiction to food. I can't wait to start this journey!

Hey there coops and Virginia. Thanks for replying. We shall now be sleeve sisters..lol. I have checked out what to bring. I've been stalking this website and OH for months. Sometimes I feel like I know to much!!lol. Well I guess that's better than not, right! Tomorrow the surgery coordinator will be calling me to give me my time. I will be in for 2 nights and released the third day. I know I will have a drain and a catheter oh geez! The third day he wants to do puree, I am gagging at the thought. That's sometimes scarier than the surgery itself. Can't believe its a week from tomorrow. I told my husband tonight as we watched food porn on the good channel....that nothing better taste as good as thin is supposed to feel. Got a little chuckle from him. I did not tell many people just a few friends. In fact no family knows they think its gallbladder surgery(lord knows what I will say if I really have to get that taken out). Upper GI is where u drink the barium, roll around on the table and they xray you while its going down.. egd is where they sedate you and put the camera down your throat

It depends on your own health status and ur doctor... I am 28 I am about 130lbs overweight but have no health problems besides being overweight my doc didn't make me get one

That totally sucks.. I will never say you are to young. I bet you most people on here would say they would of loved to have had it at that age bc it would give them so many years back that they lost due to being overweight... listen its hard for me to tell people bc some may not agree. And the problem with telling people is that all it takes is one little negative comment to plant a seed for questioning urself. You don't need to tell anyone why you are losing weight. Im just telling people I'm on atkins. Call me a liar I don't care. You were just looking for support when u told them and you got shot down.. it hurts and it sucks. Stay positive you are doing this for you and no one else.. good luck with everything

Thank u so much for the replies. I was initially preparing myself for liquids for two weeks after surgery and than I found out we were on to purees. I personally don't feel comfortable with that with all the research I've done.. my Dr. does have a zero leak rate. I have two and half weeks left till surgery. I'll figure something out..thanks!!

Well my time will be soon. And I love this forum for helping me to mentally prepare for what's to come.. I have surgery April 18th and I am obessively stalking the boards.. as for your question Ireland. My doctor does use a drain. It helps drain all the fluid and blood that comes out during surgery and helps them see if there are any leaks as well.. everyone says getting it out is a no biggie. Now some people it comes out day after surgery and for others they have it for a week.. some don't even have one too.. its the same with the catheter ur doctor will either use one or not

What exactly can u use the syrup in? Especially the first couple weeks after surgery. Thanku

Well this topic sparked a few plugs awhile back.. but what I can say is that it is your decision to tell and shout it from the rooftops or to not say a word and any in between. I personally did not tell anyone but my husband and friend. because its none of anyone's business anyways on how I'm losing weight.. its up to you in the end and there are repercussions for either way. So just wondering if any ladies can tell me if AF came for a visit when you were gonna have surgery. I'm so grossed out not sure if I'm allowed to wear a tampon.. I know they will be doing a catheter... double ewww!! Please help

I have surgery in a couple weeks on April 18. I have sat here and talked myself in and out of this surgery a million times since I found out my date in February. And then it hit me today that holy crap I talk myself out of it because that's what I do.. I have talked myself out of every diet and exercise plan telling myself that I will fail and what's the point, that it won't work, hey nothing else has, that I'm not worth it, I don't deserve it.Wow, its just unbelievable. That unfortunately was what I thought.. well it will take time but I refuse to think that way anymore. I deserve this, we all do!!

Thankyou all so much. It has certainly been quite the journey. I think I'm going to get the movie the secret to help me on this path of postiveness. It helps as always to know your not the only one who thinks in this way.

So I know we all go through this. My surgery date is April 18th. This may sound very vain but I am absolutely terrified of losing my hair so much that it has me seriously considering not getting surgery. All I have had this entire time of being 150lbs overweight is my hair. Its the one thing I always felt good about. I do hair for a living and its making me crazy. Now I don't need someone telling me that if that's what's holding me back maybe I'm not ready. So u can keep that comment to urself. We all have things we are scared of and this is mine. Anyone else super worried about this?

I have seen this happen before from other people and it seems that u will feel the most restriction when you r on solids.. don't be scared u didn't do this for nothing.. you are not eating dense things so I wouldn't worry

Also if you taking in little amounts of food eventually it catches up with you. Your body thinks your starving, goes into survival mode and holds on to anything it can. Which is sometimes the reason for a stall

Please tell me that we won't be receiving this shot prior to surgery. I heard a little rumor yesterday that certain surgeries they r now doing epidurals with and I was hoping that it was just for waist down surgeries. Please help!!! Scared first it was the catheter now this :-(
