I also have Cigna and was just sleeved on June 8th, my first visit of the 6 mos was in December and May was my last visit. My package was submitted on May 17th and approved on the 20th, so I could have scheduled surgery the next week, however I had to plan for time off from work so I waited until June. However my point is you should be able to schedule in November, or at least the first week or so of December since November will be you 6mos...hope that helps good luck

I think I'm doing too good to be true - no problem with frequent sipping
McKee replied to kristina's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am only 2 days out and I was actually wondering the same thing. I have had no pain or problem getting my fluids down hot or cold. So I'm just sipping through out the day on the fluids not counting the 30cc every 15-20 mins I really thing that is geared toward someone that maybe having trouble...good luck! -
Well my surgeon submitted my package today to Cigna for approval...hopefully I will hear something soon. Does anyone have any recent experience with Cigna and their response time?

McKee replied to Sheila RN's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My BMI is 40 also and I am hearing the same thing from my co-workers...their like what? You don't look big enough to have WLS...I guess it's just the misconception that you have to super obese and not be able to move before you should consider this route! However they are wrong I have struggled all my life with weight loss, lose a few pounds here and gain it back there! I hope and pray that this I'd the end and I can finally feel normal even though I'm not sure what normal feels like...lol -

Hi I am just actually beginning my process I am one month down of the 6 mos my insurance requires, however I am in the Houston area as well and I also have heard bad reviews of this doctor...I am using Texas Gastric Banding in the Woodlands Dr. Wilkenfled but having trouble finding a place to work with my availablity for the nutritionist appts...True Results is very limited on their times and I am scared to use my pcp because of the specific documentation.

Hi I also have Cigna open access, and my Bmi is right at 40, as the policy reads you can still be covered without a comorbit...if you are 40 or greater...now I have just been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the hips and knees with I understand to be considered by cigna as a comorbit...I'll keep you updated on the progress.
