    hot flushes

It kind of sounds like hypoglycemia to me. Ask your doctor, and maybe you can check your blood sugar at home while you have this "flashes". Keep us posted.

    Miralax

I put it in crystal light. I don't think it changes the flavor or consistency. Sometimes, I put it in OJ. I got some OJ that is 50 calories for 8 oz. I rarely do that though, mostly put it in the crysal light. Sometimes, I get a drink called PlumSmart. It's for digestive health, and they have a light one. I get that sometimes, and put the miralax in that. That keeps me very regular!! Sometimes that is too much and I just do the PlumSmart.

    Before and After Photos

Sorry I can't help with the pic gallery search, but I can share my before and now pic. I just posted recently in this forum, but here is a side by side view. I have lost 100 pounds so far and I am 4 months out. I am about half way to goal. I can't wait until I can post a REAL before and after picture! Good luck to you!
  5. Congrats!!! You look great!!!!!!
  6. OH NO!!!! Why did they change it!!! These were the only ones I liked!!! I have the old chocolate ones still. My mom just bought me the vanilla and I did notice the package was different, but I thought it was just because it was vanilla. I thought it taste okay, but it was the first time I had the vanilla, so I can't really compare. I hope they change it back before i need more chocolate ones!

  11. 1 IV and 5 incisions. 3 of my insciions are tiny and you can barely see them now. One is about an inch and the last one is almost 2 inches long. My stomach was so huge he had to make it bigger to get it out ) Good luck!

That is great!! What a great feeling! I was on the phone with my mom today and felt my lower leg, and was like, WOW, I can feel my shin bone again And I still have over 100 pounds to lose! Can't wait to see my collar bones again :)

    Protein Drunks

I like the Premeir brand. It is 11oz and 30g of protein, 1 g of sugar. Other protein drinks made me have diarrhea like you mentioned. I found out that I can't handle any products with soy in them. It's very hard to find a protein drink or bar with no soy and that tastes good! Good luck!

    Goal Number One Met

That's awesome! What a great feeling!!!! Congrats!
  15. I would stick with what you are doing now since you are losing. Like Diva said, Every BODY is different. Some people can't lose on carbs, some can. I lose on carbs. I never liked the really high protein and low carbs. For one its not a well balanced diet and hard to stick with (at least for me) and it is hard on the kidney's. But some people do well with that. Just figure out what works best for you and makes you feel the best phsically. Good luck!

    Home from Hospital

It all sounds totally normal! Glad you are home safe and sound! Good luck with your recovery. You will feel so much better in no time!!

    What could have triggered this

Stress is probably why you are at a stall right now. It sounds like your eating is just fine! 35 carbs is not high, at least not to me! Stress releases hormones in the body that make it just about impossble to lose weight. Just try to relax as much as you can. Come here and get everything out. And I bet once everything settles down, you will continue to lose the weight. Good luck, and big hugs to you.
  18. I am currently losing hair! I started at about 2 or 2.5 months out. I am now about 3.5 months out and it hasn't stopped. I am starting to worry! You can see how thin my hair is now! I started with thin hair, so now its super thin. I usually pull it back, and there are spots now where you can practically see my scalp. It's very depressing, but if I could go back and redo things, I would do the surgery all over again!

    premier protein shake

I love those, and I never noticed that either! Ha! I was just happy I found one that tastes okay, had lots of protein, and didn't make me sick! I have the chocolate, and my mom found the vanilla now! I can't wait to try those.
  20. Today I am 16 weeks post-op. I am getting so close to my half way point, I can, aahhhhhhhhh, smell it! I will post when I reach it but I am so excited that I am so close. I am going to do the 5 day pouch test starting wednesday. Does anyone know if it's okay to do it this soon after surgery? I just feel like I have been eating too much! And too many carbs! I don't really count carbs, but some days its all I want. I don't want to get back into that bad habit.
  21. Tiff- Where can you get the type of vitamins that you take? My NUT told me to get the kids chewable ones and I have been taking Flinstones and I HATE them. I stopped taking them for a while because I just couldn't stand the taste. I tried the One-a-Day pills, but I threw up after, probably because it was on an empty stomach.

    my amazing 3 month stats

Great job!!! That is so awesome!! 10 inches on the waist gone!! WOW!!!!
  23. I am 15 weeks out today. I lost 1 pound this week. I almost said "ONLY" before that 1, but I am not going to do that! A loss is a loss. It's ONE pound gone forever! I'm just going to be happy that the scale is moving in the right direction. I started working out this week, so maybe I am building some muscle. I think I was really dehydrated the week before, so this past week I have been drinking a lot more. I also ate some pretty bad stuff this past week, so I am going to make sure to stay on track this week. I weighed in at 278 pounds today! It feels so weird to say that. Last week when I was 279, I wrote 297 in my notebook where I keep a weekly record of my weight. Either I am dyslexic or just not use to that "7" in there. So, here are some NSV: Some I have shared before, but I felt they needed to be re-shared 1. I am up to 10 mins on the elpitical machine (HUGE FOR ME) 2. I went to the cardiologist for a re-check last week. Haven't been there since a few months before surgery. My BP, with no meds since date of surgery, was 122/84, and pulse was 72! Can I get a "WOOT WOOT"..........the doctor shook my hand 3. I could squeeze my butt into size 20 jeans Still tight, but I could zip them I put my size 24's in the dryer and they are still baggy. But I don't have any 22's and don't want to buy any. I went to a store where I know the stuff is cheap, and NO size 22's!! So, I just bought a few 20's. Just bought some sweat pants for $3 to wear until I fit into the 20's. 4. I got a job! Not a RN job, but it's a job for now. I got a nanny job for a family I have known for 8 years. It's just part time, but it gets me out of the house 5. I can walk from my basement (up 3 sets of small steps- quad level house) carrying laundry and still have the energy to fold it and put it away without sitting or resting! 6. While working, I can run up the steps to check on the kids, and not feel like my heart is gonna jump out of my chest I couldn't walk to my mailbox before surgery without the need to lean over the counter when I got inside to be able to breathe. 7. I can shower and get out and not have to sit down and rest. Sometimes, before surgery, I would have to lay in bed naked because I couldn't do anything else. 8. I shoveled the snow from my entire driveway and sidewalks with no break I couldn't even shovel 1 path last year. 9. I fit into a booth at a resturant without moving the table. 10. My periods are freaking NORMAL!!! 11. I met a friend for lunch the other day that I haven't seen since I was 6 weeks post-op and she said "WOW, where did the rest of you go" 12. I can play with my dogs, and run around (somewhat) with them and play hide and seek, which they love. I can take them for walks (which I need to do more of). Okay, now some # victories: 1. I am in the 270's! 2. I am 11 pounds away from being half way to goal!! 3. I am 9 pounds away from losing 100 pounds!! 4. Starting BMI was 53.... today.... 39!!!!! I know I say this a lot, but I am SO glad I have you guys to share all my victories with :D For anyone just starting this journey, trust me, it gets better, and it will all be worth it!!!

    Vitamin D Deficient

I am not sure why you couldn't get surgery because of that. I was defficent in vit D about 3 yrs ago and they just told me to take a supplement. I was VERY low. But they didn't even check it before surgery, so I have no idea what it is now. I guess I will ask the doc to check it on my next blood drawl. A lot of people are acutally deff. on Vit D. I would ask the dr. why surgery has to be postponed.... now I am curious!
