OMG, that one you had in the hospital is too funny, but the other one, I would have had a heart attack! HOW SCARY!

I LOL'ed at your dream I had weird dreams too, that were very vivid right after surgery. But mine were all about food! I had dreams that I ate tacos and brownies and things, and in my dream I would eat really fast and then panic because I remembered I had surgery. I would wake up thinking I really ate all the stuff and it would take me a few mins to realize it was a dream. I would even wake up and my stomach would hurt. Im glad those are over with! Diva is right, it takes a while for all those drugs to get out of your system. I thought my dreams might have also been because I was so hungry, and I was sleeping deeper as I lost more weight and could breathe better.

I am 9 weeks out and eat grapes. I LOVE them right now. I was allowed to add them at 7 weeks out. My favorite kind are the huge green seedless ones. She told me to cut them into 4 pieces, but I just take tiny bites of them. I hope you can enjoy grapes soon! I know I could only have canned fruit when I first started adding food. If you find out why you can't have grapes, please let us know. Now I am curious too

I was so proud of myself today. I got professional pictures taken I HATE getting pictures taken, but I wanted to do this so bad. I am going to make my Christmas cards out of one of these pictures, probably #8. If anyone has a favorite, please let me know. I let my sister take a picture of me the other day which was a huge step for me, and now I did this! YEAH! Maybe I will do it again June 8th.... it will be my 33rd birthday and Izzy's (fawn boxer) 6th birthday! I don't like looking at these pictures because I still have so much to lose, but I can't imagine what I would have looked like 72 pounds higher! I need to be happy about that 72 I have lost so far. Hopefully by next Christmas I will be to my goal weight! http://smilestore.picturepeople.com/PR3/Orderpage.aspx?pi=YH4C07EP000000&po=0&pc=15

SarahS replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
OMG, I can't imagine being smaller than 160, LOL! I just wanna get out of the 200's right now! It's crazy to think about having a 1 in front of my #!! And a size L on my clothes! LOL, or even a M! -
Are you taking pain meds? After surgery when I was taking the pain meds I would get super hot too. Not sure why. I hope this passes for you!
-
My first goal for myself was to get under 300. I thought it would take awhile, since my highest pre-op weight was 369. Date of surgery I was 356. Today, I stepped on the scale and LOOK!!!!!!! Surgery was about 8.5 weeks ago :)

SarahS replied to mp8btpc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure why it didn't post all of my comment..... Could you be pregnant? Not sure if this is even a possibiliby and I hope I don't sound like an a$$. My friends think its crazy because I always know when someone is pregnant before they tell anyone I am hungry A LOT too!!!! I will eat and be stuffed and then about 30 mins to an hour later I will be hungry again. I am glad I am not alone. I was starting to think I was a FREAK -
Anyone taken an appetite suppressant post op?
SarahS replied to mp8btpc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im glad that you are not going to take any appetite suppresants. I abused anything with ephedra in it years ago, and its now off the market. I lost mass amounts of weight, but once I was off it, I blew up again. Thats what happens. Once you are off it, everything slows way down. Just remember that if you get the idea of taking something in your head again You mentioned that if you lose 15 more pounds, your BMI will be under the range for your height. So, I was thinking, maybe your body is happy at the weight it is at right now. Sometimes I wonder if everyones body has a set weight it should be at, and maybe you are at that weight. You probably don't want to hear that though. Just a thought -

You look GREAT!!!!!!! I can't wait to fit in a size Large! When I was 160 pounds (7yrs ago) I was in a size large and people said I was thin! LOL. But I am 5ft 10inches tall. How tall are you? And if you don't mind me asking, what is your current weight? I guess I am dumb because I can't figure out your tickers, LOL! What have you lost just since your surgery date? Again, you look amazing!!! I hope you feel as great as you look! -
Awesome job! You look great!

This might not sound like a big accomplishment, but I am soooooo proud of myself. I went to the grocery tonight (which I hate to do because I just want to buy junk) and I didn't buy ANY junk food!!!!! I wanted to soooo badly. I walked down the ice cream aisle and looked and then started walking faster and told myself NO! I walked thru the candy aisle too, and I wanted a resses cup sooooo bad! I saw a pudding cake, and thought, OH YUM, that will go down so easily!!! I kept walking past that too! I even made it thru the checkout lane too without grabbing a resses or anything else! YEAH FOR ME!!!! I had a slip a few weeks back where I did buy a resses that I ate, and I did eat a cupcake too. I know it goes down easily, and doens't make me sick. I can't resist it, so I have to keep it out of my house. I am so glad I didn't buy it. I was so proud of myself, I just had to share! I also wanted to just drive thru Wendy's or Skyline (chili place) instead of going to the grocery because that is so much easier than buying food and preparing it. That was an old bad habit that I got in to. I didn't do that either!!! I attached a recent picture of me with my doggies from a few days ago. It was in the 50's then, but its snowing today! LOL! I have lost 56 since surgery, 69 total. I was 300.2 this morning. I hope to break the 300's soon!!!! Maybe tomorrow moring or the next day! I also added some before pictures. Don't look at my messy deck, LOL! I think I was at my highest weight in these pictures. I set the timer on my camera. I hated getting my picture taken, and I didn't want anyone to take my pic

How do you handle work?
SarahS replied to Fleur de lis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually have turkey sausage for breakfast. I got tired of eggs, and I don't like cottage cheese or oatmeal (things my NUT suggested). I asked her about turkey sausage and she said its fine. Its really filling and I usually eat 3 links or 2 patties. I think its under or around 140 calories, 7 g fat, and 9 g of protein (I think). Maybe try that if its something you like. I also tried turkey bacon and turkey pepparoni, all which are yummy. I put those on a thin tortilla and make pizza...yum! Just a thought. Right now, my snacks are protein shakes. My NUT still wants me on those 2 times a day, and 3-4 meals. I am not working right now and I am worried about going back to work as well. Good luck and congrats on the new job! Keep us posted on how you do. -
I LOVE boxers!!!! I will always only have boxers. They are the best dogs ever!!! Izzy was my first boxer, then I got Gus. They are my babies Awww, you are so lucky to play with boxer puppies!!!! I want another, but these 2 keep me busy enough.

Leak Test - Didn't get one
SarahS replied to Susanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i did not have a leak test either. I am in Ohio, USA. I guess they just watch for symptoms? -
Good luck with surgery!!!! Let us know how it goes when you can. Yes, it might be a good idea to have some miralax, just in case. The first 4-5 weeks I was fine. The miralax has helped some.

I am about 7.5 weeks post op and haven't had issues with constipation until earlier this week. I don't understand why I was doing okay, and now the constipation!! UGH! I can't remember how many days since I had had a bowel movement, but when I finally did, I had several in one day and they were HUGE, so big they hurt. Sorry if this is TMI. Later that night, I had severe pain, but it was higher up in my abdomen, kinda right underneath my breasts, and it went all the way across the front. It felt like the pain was under my ribs. It also hurt in my back too. I don't know if it was related, or gas pain, or what. But it HURT bad. It was hard to breathe because it would hurt everytime I did. I almost went to the ER, but then it passed. Anyway, I don't know if that was all related to the constipatin or not. Now, I have not had a BM since those big ones the other day and I am starting to freak out. That was on Wednesday, so its only been 2 days, but I still feel like I need to go and I can't! I only lost 2 pounds last week (I weigh on mondays), but I think because I was so full of crap! LOL! From monday-wednesday I lost 3 pounds. So, what can I take? Can I take benefiber? I thought the dr said no fiber, so I am not sure what I can take. I guess I could call the office, but I thought people here would be more helpful!

Very EMOTIONAL Eve of My Sleeve
SarahS replied to newnatalie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck with surgery!!! I will be sending you some healing healthy vibes tomorrow. I am sure its totally normal to be emotional before surgery. I was feeling all kinds of things and couldn't sleep at all!!! Like everyone else has said, walking is so important! I didn't get out of bed the day of surgery, but the next day I felt SO MUCH better once I did walk around!! Good luck!!! Can't wait to hear how it all went.
