I am actually having one of those days right now! I'm so depressed, annoyed, tired, etc.. I could go on and on. My mom and boyfriend are trying to encourage me, but its only making me upset. When I get out of the house, my days brighten up, it makes me feel like 100% better. I hope that you are feeling better.

After Surgery Questions
Candace2314 replied to Dadofpeace's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 16 days post op and the gas wore off, I still occasionally have issues with it, it's like every 2 days or so. I agree with Meggie on the Protein, but I've had a very hard time trying to consume Protein shakes all together. Its not see easy for me post op. I believe you need to consume at least 60 to 70 grams of protein a day. I know I was told at least 60. I hope this helps. P.S. if you are fearful of gas being a problem, get gas-x strips or pills. They are miracle workers! -
Finally found some protein that I can consume without nausea!

I'm 15 days post op. I'm SO HUNGRY! Well, not really- more like I smell food, and I want to eat it. I cooked for my boyfriend yesterday and it was the first time since before surgery, and I almost lost that battle! But anywho! I had the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup flavored protein- let me just say I hurled all over the counter- that was by far the nastiest thing I've ever tasted. Next, are the slim fast protein- too too sweet, I hate to have sweet drinks. Then I went and bought the Isopure water- this is finally something I can drink. I hate the after taste, but I can drink it. I also forgot that I could have skim milk or 1% milk- and I've been passing it up every day until this morning! Milk does the body good, and there's nothing like a cold glass of milk! The whey Protein unflavored is gross as well. I can wait to eat, I have my 2 week follow up appointment on Thursday and which is about 4 or 5 days off when I can eat and I'm hoping against all hope that Dr. Nick just lets me eat cause I am not enjoying the protein thing- before surgery, no problem, after surgery it- yuck! I have 2 questions for you guys: What are some good ways of getting adequate amounts of protein via liquids (excluding Protein shakes cause I'm going there lol)? and what were some foods that you guys ate during the soft diet phase? -
So I just realized I could drink milk... what the heck? OMG, thats 8 grams of protein I've missed out on for a while!

OMG! same here, I'm thinking about nachos right now lol. I am on full liquids til next Monday I'm really just missing food. Welcome to the forum!

CONGRATS!!!!!! -
So, Today is my first day back at work... alot of people are looking at me like hey I thought you had weightloss surgery??? It's very comical. I personally am enjoying the looks. I think it's funny that they thought I would loose like a billion pounds in a week and 4 days. I can't wait to go home either because the pain that I had avoided all this week has returned! Like sitting here at this desk is so painful, I can't wait to take my meds and sleep. Noon can't get here fast enough!!! How are you guys doing today? Feeling good? Candace P.S. I wanna go shopping....

Welcome Billie Jo, I hope that you have a great outcome with your insurance! Having the sleeve done is one of the best things I've ever did. It's a life changer! I know that once you are approved, it's only up from that point for you! Good Luck

Glad to hear you are doing well. I couldn't eat ice ships or drink water the first day it made me nauseous. I hope you have a speedy recovery

First Day Back At Work
Candace2314 replied to Candace2314's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Its weird because my pain has been minimal up until now. Like on a scale from 1 to 10 my pain level was a 1 for the most part since I left the hospital, but sitting here at work.... I don't know if it's the chair I am in or what but my tummy muscles hurt really bad. Then it doesnt help that I'm dealing with gas. Why me??? lol. My pain level is about a 5 or 6 give or take. It's manageable. When I feel like I want to scream, I get up and walk around, or pretend like I'm walking to the bathroom which seems to help. I have my protein, my water and everything but I am still experiencing pain, I really think it's the incisions area on the left thats causing all this pain. That is going to be your problem area if you are having pain. -

Praying for you -
Good luck on your surgery next Tuesday! Thanks for sharing your story. I never realized how many people actually had issues with the band. I know of 2 people personally and one of them is going to get a revision soon. Getting sleeved seems to be the way to go! I'm newly sleeved and I'm very happy that I did it. Take care.

2 Month Post-Op Drs. Appointment went Great!
Candace2314 replied to Diane's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That's great! Keep up the good work -
I spent the day trying everything I could think of to get rid of this gas. I accomplished the mission! YAY!!! It took, miralax, prune juice, and a freakin fleet's enema, but hey- tasked accomplished. I'm so happy now. I also took pictures of how I looked the day before surgery and I took a comparison pic just now (exactly a week after) and the difference is astounding! Like, my stomach area alone looks alot smaller. I started out at 312 pounds (pre-op diet) and today when I weighed myself, I was at 279lbs. I'm amazed. I intend on stepping away from the scale for a while because I know that soon enough there will be the "dreadful stall" and I'm ok with that. I think I'm going to go back to work on Tuesday, so tomorrow I'm going to spend the day resting. I hope that you all have a great week ahead of you and some interesting stories along the way. Take Care, Candace

Yes the gas has been bad (sorry for scaring you) lol. Also try gas-x, this too has been wonderful. I'm still struggling with gas issues and constipation but they are no longer ruling my life. -
