  1. Thanks Meangene, you have put my mind at ease. I realize everyone is different, but I hope to have a simple transition back to work, knowing myself I think I will.
  2. I too use fitday, for about three years now. I like that you can put your body measurements and track certain goals, such as if you want to track your sodium, or something like that versus your typical fat, pro, carbs, etc. I know there is one on prevention.com too that I signed up for but never use. I might check out some of these others too, I have surgery on Thursday, so I would like to pick the ONE that I will use throughout.
  3. I have surgery in 4 days. I can't belive it, I too am having all kinds of crazy thoughts running through my brain including a silly dream last night about surgery. I just want to get it overwith and IN know the benefits far outweigh anything I get to enjoy now. I have had surgery in the past, but I was young, and this time with age I think I am thinking things through a lot more, so I think of everything. I with I was blinder almost going into this. I am prepared though, my kids are older, so I don't have to worry about taking care of anyone when I get home. I am looking foward to it, but a little anxiety about the surgery and recovery itself. Just want to be through the first 6 weeks and eating regular food and exercising. Good luck to everyone, take care.

Hey all, I am getting ready, 1 week out till surgery. I was questioning myself a little this past week, but as it gets even closer I am fine with it. I am ready to get it overwith! Good luck and hope that all are of you are well no matter where you are, before or after!

    Any January Sleevers?

Good for you, glad to hear that at 4 days out you are happy and doing well. I am in NY so I know all about the snow right now. How many days did you spend in hospital in all? Take care and keep us updated!
  6. I hear you, I am going through a little of the same, minus the Mexico part. I think about a week ago I really started questioning everything (I am less than 2 weeks out now). I keep telling myself no one on this forum seems to regret this decision. I think of it like having a baby, there is no turning back at this point. I know it is going to be a lot of work and I think that is a part of the anxiety as well. I know it will all work out, I have a supportive family, and luckily my children aren't too young and can fare well on their own. I wish you the best of luck and hope that you can feel more at ease as the time draws nearer. Take care! And see you on the other side.

    January 2011 Sleevers

I am the 27th also in New York! Good luck to you
  10. I am on the 27th, as far as I know I have a one week plan that is 2 pro shakes a day and 1 meal/1 snack. I think for my own sake I will do all liquids the day before surgery to be "lighter". I see the nutritionist on the 18th, so I will double check on all this with her. Good luck!
  11. Amazon you can get the individual packets by the case, convenient to stock up. You can also get at drugstore.com and soap.com. Today I mixed 1 packet of choc and one packet of van, pretty good! I am Pre op so drinking 16 oz skim and 2 packets CIB, suggested by my nutritionist.

    Any January Sleevers?

I am on a military installation, and will be having it here
  13. I too am doing this, but I think the holidays has something to do with it. For awhile I was doing so good eating small portions, limiting drinks with meals, and not eating after 7:30 pm and I was losing weight, but for the month of December I have really been overdoing it. Crazy thing is that I have been working out more because I know I am eating horribly. I really wanted to focus on weights for after surgery reasons, but have been trying to fit in a lot of cardio to burn these extra calories. After the holidays I am going to get serious, will have 4 weeks before surgery and that should be enough to get myself on track. As for presurgery I have a pretty simple meal plan, Carnation instant Breakfast (2 packs and 16 oz skim milk) for breakfast and dinnfer, then a large (500-600 calorie) lunch and one small snack. Looks very doable. I am supposed to do this for two weeks. So I am not worried about this, except for only having CIB for dinner, might be a little struggle but that surgery will be in my sights so I know I can do it!!! Take care and Happy New Year!

    January 2011 Sleevers

You know, I think you are right about the closer it gets, the harder it is to wrap your head around the whole thing and feeling like you're not ready. I feel like I get to that point with myself when I am comfortable about having it done, but then the closer it gets I get worried, I guess I don't realize it is real until it is about to be time. I am scheduled for Jan 27, and I think that getting through the holidays makes it feel all that closer, like a hurdle to get over, I have been saying after the holidays, but now that time is almost here.

    Any January Sleevers?

Hey there, I am also 5'7" and about 228 or so, I had lost 9 lbs, but then gained about 3 back. I am working out, but the holiday treats are getting me. Good luck with your surgery. I was wondering how that works with flying after the surgery, I decided to do January and not December because we are flying around Christmas. I also want to be in my own home afterward and not family, so that was another reason why I decided to wait. How long after the surgery will you fly home?

    Any January Sleevers?

Yes I have my date, it is 27 January. I think I am ready, as it gets closer I may get a bit more nervous, but it took me a couple of months to decide if I really wanted to do this. Once I decided, then I have been at peace with that and have only looked foward to it, but at the sametime enjoying some treats now, as I know that I won't be able to have them after.

14 DAYS POST OP ....WHAT TO DO ON THURSDAY

I have not been sleeved yet, but I think I would go with the sick plan, it is going to be too hard to expain this early on, and I see you don't want the judgement of your cousins as well.

    Any January Sleevers?

I am doing mine in January, I have a Pre Op appt. on Dec 2nd in which we will set the date. So I am thinking early to mid January. It has been a hard decision for me for some reason, I first saw the Doc in August to start discussing this. I am ready now and know that it is the best thing for me. Good luck to you all!
  21. I was told to sprinkle it on cereal, smoothies, maybe soup? I haven't bought any yet, but never would have thought of unflavored until the nutritionist suggested it.
