  1. Thanks everyone!!! This is definitely a learning experience! I hope that when I get to solids I will start "reprogramming" also! Someone on here said they question why I had the surgery. I had it because I feel like a whale!! I weighed 293 and I'm 5'2"! I had no energy and HATED feeling so uncomfortable in whatever stretchy pants big shirt I could find! I have list about 14 pounds since first pre op visit and I truly have more energy just from my Protein Shakes. I just wonder what it's going to be like when I get to solids and frankly I'm a bit afraid of the "whole plate" issue I discussed earlier.

  2. Thank you everyone! I did not have any kind of psych eval I am a self pay patient. I want this to work for me more than anything in the world! I was on a preop liquid diet and followed it to a tee. Now post op and am on full liquids and feel satisfied with that and my Protein Shakes. I do have the problem of finishing all of my cream of chicken Soup and then just feel VERY FULL! then I'll go walk so I don't feel so miserable. I have no restriction now and the swelling is gone from surgery.

Do I really sound crazy to you all?

  3. I'm newly banded 3-31 and I want to know how long after surgery were u able to eat your favorite meal again. I love food, I think I'm a food addict, and I just keep fantasizing about the time I'm gonna get to sit down with a plate of my favorite foods! Then I think, omg! Am I gonna even enjoy myself? I picture myself getting my huge plate of food and just devouring every last bite and savoring the delicious flavors! And I'm scared I'm not going to be able to finish it but still trying to stuff it all down because it tastes SO GOOD..., I don't know... This is all new to me and I'm just trying to put into words some of the emotions and fears I'm going through...I'm realizing I truly LIVED TO EAT and now I'm afraid some of my joy of life will be lost.

    Thanks for listening. :)

  4. Hi my name is Teresa but I have been called Snoop since I was 6 months old. I was born, raised and live in the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS!!!! :) I'm 37 years old. I have been married to my soul mate for 19 years and we have 3 kids 18,16,14. 2 dogs both chiauaua/shih tzu mixes. I've been big since right after marriage and have recently gotten HUGE! I work as a 9-1-1 operator and stay chained to my desk the entire 8 hr shift. I was banded 3-31-11 and am SO EXCITED!!!! I will say I'm scared of what my new past time should be since it used to be cooking out, going out to eat and drinking!!! :) my preop weight was 293 and today I'm at 280....not much loss for 20 days of liquid diet, but I'm hopeful it's gonna get going soon! I love this site, I love all your stories and I wish all of us success!

    Thanks for hearing my story!

  5. Hi all! I was banded 3-31. Everything has been great, not too much gas, I walked walked walked. I'm on full liquids now and have 2 Protein Shakes some sf popsicles and broth or Soup each day. At first after surgery I wasn't hungry and the Water would make me feel full. But not anymore! Today I was able to drink an entire can (plus 1 can 2% milk) Tomato Soup and didn't feel like I thought I should feel. That's A LOT of liquids! I thought I would of felt full as a tick! Instead I felt like my self pre-band. Is something wrong????

  6. [best of luck! I also have surgery that day, so I think we'll both be on this site a lot! :) where are you having yours done? I'm in Dallas Texas. quote name='REDsparkles11' timestamp='1301375562' post='1592896]

Cant wait for my surgery. Ive been doing so good with the pre-op diet, and just so ready. I am very grateful to be given the chance for some help with my journey. Thank you to everyone who have had great posts and commented on mine. They've helped me alot and been an inspiration :) Love to all bandsters! (Especially my March2011 Bandsters :D)

  7. Thanks!! I have been drinking apple juice, but I havent been watering it down. And I guess I have been missing my veggies cause that spicy V-8 was DELICIOUS! Do you know if it matters what color popsicles I eat?

they told me to avoid v8 unless i was really jonsing for some veggies. it's very pulpy and they said to just drink Clear Liquids or milk. here's what mine were, in addition to Protein shakes and water:

    - chicken, beef or vegge broth. buy a carton instead of cans, tastes better. you can also put a splash of milk in it to make it creamier.

    - sugar free Jello

    - watered down clear fruit juice (has a lot of carbs so just take a couple of sips of watered down juice, don't drink a lot of it). i used watered down white grape juice.

    - sugar free popsicles (definitely have these at home for right after the surgery too, will help with the scratchy throat).

    - non fat milk (i bought non and 1% and mixed because i couldn't tolerate nonfat alone).

    - crystal light
