  1. I messed up big time!!! I had a few glasses of wine THEN went and had an order of chicken flautas with sour cream hot sauce and rice and beans. I'm so ashamed of myself but it all went down fine, big bites and all! I'm 12 days post op. Do y'all think I messed up my band? I haven't had any pain at all as a result of eating.
  2. I am SO STUCK! The night before last I ate some brisket and I guess I got stuck. The next morning I couldnt keep Water down. I tried taking my meds (before I knew I wasnt going to be able to keep anything down) and throughout the day I was spitting up and literally throwing up (the SUPER PAINFUL HURT YOUR BAND KIND OF THROW UP) at some point when i was throwing up little pieces of my pills were coming up too. All water I try to drink comes back up. Today I am DYING OF THIRST!!! I cant keep anything down. I have tried drinking hot water and I keep spitting that back up. I wonder if there could really still be brisket stuck in there or if my stomach is now so swollen from all the throwing up that everything just needs a rest. If yall have any remedy please post!!!! Thanks!
  3. what else is on your list of cant eat? I think my band is at a perfect restriction but I dont know what I should stay away from. I found today that deep dish pizza crust is a no no, and toast is out. I didnt know this about these vegetables.

    PB tighten band?

Thats intresting what your saying about not drinking anything when you feel a stuck episode come on. I did try and drink something and boy oh boy! The food and drink both come right back up! My first inclination was to dry and drink something to dislodge the stuck food.... not a good idea! But, now I know. And I will take it easy the rest of the day. Thanks yall!
  5. If you eat and it causes you to PB does that make your band tighter for a while after that?
  6. Hi! I live in Dallas and I used TLC Edge. I thought everything about them was great! I was banded on 3-31-11 by Dr. Jayzeelen and I go to Medical City in Richardson. Today was my second fill. The first was a month ago and they gave me 6.5cc and today they added another 3cc. I have lost about 30 lbs since the beginning of my journey. I am self pay so I had to pay 150.00 for todays fill and they do use flouroscope. Everyone in the office is very nice, it does sometimes seem a little rushed though. I would recommend them to anyone that is considering the surgery. Good luck to everyone!!!
  7. First fill today. Got 6.5 cc. They said my stomach must have been smaller than the Dr originally thought. I hope I feel some restriction now!!!!! I have been able to eat ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING I have wanted since about 2 weeks post op. Oh, I have lost 20 lbs since 3-23-11. So I am happy!!! THANKS FOR LISTENING!!
  8. I got my fill after 4 weeks. I hadn't had any restriction so they gave me 6.5cc. When they looked at the xray they said my stomach must have been smaller than my doc first thought and that was the reason for such a huge fill. That day I felt restriction, but since then (4 days later) I don't really feel it anymore. I go back in 4 weeks to get another fill. Everyone is different so who knows!!! Good luck!

  10. I got my first fill Monday, 6.5cc. I am supposed to be on full liquids a week. Well last night I lost control after doing great all day. (1 protein shake and a campbells soup at hand) then I ruined it all by binging on jack in the box at 2am. I had a breakfast jack, some bacon cheddar potato wedges and a taco. I thought I had some restriction after the fill, I guess that was just swelling cause all that food went down fine. But today in addition to the disgust I feel about myself I have slight pain in my left side. Any ideas about what that's about? Sorry everyone, this is my confession post, so thanks for hearing me out.

    Alcohol

I can tell you, the alcohol doesnt affect me any differently than before, BUT it definitely makes you say "to hell with this diet" and eat things you arent supposed to. Thats what I did last night and after going out drinking I stopped at Jack in The Box and binged on things Im not supposed to eat. Especially since I got my fill on Monday and am supposed to be only on full liquids for a week...so be careful!

    Filled with regret....

I can promise you, it gets better!!!! I too sat and cried over what I couldn't eat. I kept reading on here and learned, it's not that I cant eat it, it's that I can't eat it NOW. try telling yourself you WILL be able to eat everything in time. That's what helped me. Good luck! I swear each new day things get better and your choices get easier!

    1st Fill!!!

Wow. Now it's hours after my fill. I feel like TOTAL RESTRICTION! I'm sipping some tea and even that ends up causing a bit of pain/pressure, like I need to let out a monstrous burp!!! My stomach sounds like it's growling super loud...is all this normal???

    1st Fill!!!

Thanks!!! I don't know how big my band is. I was told clear liquids today and full liquids for 6 days then move up slowly. And boy am I glad they confirmed I wasn't feeling any restriction since surgery. I thought I was gonna be one of those that this spent work for!
  16. I had potato soup and added cheese like you did and some ham flavoring it it was the greatest!!!! That was about 1 week post op. I didn't have any pain from it.

    swollen belly???

I cheated BIG TIME!!!! I was about six days post op and ate rice beans and chicken taquitos...and hot sauce and lettuce and tomato. It wasn't painful at all, but I felt guilty as hell about it! I told my Dr and they didn't scold me too bad, just told me to stick to full liquids and move to mushies the next week. At this point I'm almost a month out and can eat what I want. Can't wait til I get my fill on the 2nd.

Had my 1st fill Wed. and I am so hungry!

I have my first fill on May 2nd and I cant wait! I was banded on March 31st and I have been able to eat anything I want since about a week and a half after surgery. I hope and pray I'll get some restriction from the fill. Does anyone know, If your having your fill and you dont feel much restriction can you request that the Dr. put in more in that same visit? Thanks! And best of luck to everyone!!!

    1st fill on Monday......

I have also been able to eat and drink whatever I want for the past two weeks, and your right, ITS NOT GOOD!! I get my first fill on May 2nd. I cant wait cause I am afraid to gain back everything I lost pre-op. I have actually been treating these two weeks like "last supper" meals of all my favorites. I know I shouldnt but...... Good Luck to you!!!

    Alcohol Consumption

I was banded on 3-31 and I had several glasses of wine within a week of surgery. There were no problems at all. I dont have any fill in my band so if you do it might be different. I hope this helps!

    Beer.....

I'm not a beer drinker, but I can say wine goes down just fine!!! (and I mean a lot can go down fine!!! )

    Banded April 12

The minute you feel gas, walk and take gas-x! This will be the norm for about 3 days. Your stomach is swollen so it's hard to drink water and protein shakes and medicine, but do it! You'll be a bit tired in the middle of the day, rest! Good luck! I'm 2 weeks post op today so it wasn't so long ago that I've forgotten the first few days!
  25. Hey! I'm 13 days post op and I feel great! I'm supposed to be on full liquids but yesterday I slipped up and ate A LOT of regular food...( chicken flautas rice beans sour cream and hit sauce) I felt terrible mentally but physically everything went down and I still felt fine. I have my post op appt tomorrow so I will see what's up! Keep up the good work and good luck with your weight loss!
