Egg, Chicken, And Tuna Salad...good To Go For You?
mst replied to Passionatehrt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i have a great recipe for egg salad : 1 hard boiled egg, 1 wedge of swiss laughing cow cheese, a squirt or two of Mustard and a small dill pcickle sliced up, Mix all together and it is delish! Super easy too! -
yes - it is happening to me too. I was banded in sept 2011 and it seemed mine started about the 4-5 month mark...it seemed to get better, but then I had to have a revision surgery in march and now I'm back to losing it again. it is frustrating becuase I've always had a ton of hair and now not so much! i've lost 57lbs, so I'm hoping when the wl settles down a bit the hair will come back.

Has anyone tried Visalus Protien shakes?
mst replied to mst's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
point taken, but considering what a big mac or any other kind of junk food does to your body long term I see this as the lesser of two evils. if I could have done it based on nutrition alone, obviously i would'nt be on this site looking for support. I have taken this to my doctor and nutritionist who both say it is a healthy alternative. I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this. -
the only one I found that I could drink consistently and really enjoyed was Visalus protien drink. I have heard a couple people say Click is also good (both have to be ordred online) but I haven't tried it yet. I blend my visalus with ice to make it like a frappacino consisentcy and it seems to taste much better!

Has anyone tried Visalus Protien shakes?

WOW- Frank166 bitter much?! I understand that they are not your cup of tea, fine, that is your opinion. In my honest opinion, they are wonderful. I drink them everyday, sometimes twice a day. Since my band surgery, they got me thru the liquid only phase and now I drink them for the extra protien. they are the only drink I've foudn that I can do continually on a daily basis. The product does not contain fillers, as most other protien drinks do. Like I said before, I'm not here to sell the product, i was just sharing something that I found to be VERY helpful in my weight loss journey! -
I am a bandster - banded on Sept 14 and I use the Body by Vi shakes. I happen to think they taste amazing. I am not trying to sell anyone anything. But just becuase someone wants to share something they happen to think works for them I don't think they should be "shamed". They are full of protien and taste really good...something i have not found with other protien shakes. I was banded the same time as 3 other people in my support group and I have lost the most weight...i attribute those to the body by vi shakes becuase they are something tastes really good that I can see myself doing the rest of my life.

i use Body by vi too. I love them - I don't know if I would have had as much success as I have had if it hadn't been for them. They were life savers during the liquid diet and the last month that I was in the red zone.

I got my second fill about 3 weeks ago - i had a total of 1 1/2cc in. I have been pretty much in the red zone the entire time. Anything solid food i ate I threw up. I had never puked before then. I had terrible acid reflux too. I've been living on strained soup, visalus protien drinks and cherry berry yogurt. I went yesterday for an unfill and they took the entire amount of fluid out and wanted to give my stomach a "rest". Has anyone else had this happen? I really just wanted the 1/2cc from my last fill taken out. I'm kinda panicked that I have no fluid at all.

I was banded in Sept and have only been stuck twice. It was on fried rice and popcorn. the popcorn had cranrasins in it, so I'm not 100% sure if it was teh popcorn or the dried cran-raisins....either way I'm staying away from both of them completly! I can eat breat in a few small bites, other than that nothing has really been hard for me to eat. I just eat about 1/8th of what I used to! What are foods that you have to stay away from?

I woke up today with a huge bruise near my port. it doens't hurt but i was wondering if anyone else had this happen? I had the surgery about 3 months ago.
-
Nope - no straws. It seems better tonight though.

I got my first fill this morning and he gave me a full 1cc. I was able to drink water fine. Now I've been burping alot - hadn't had that happen since a couple days after my surgery (sept14). Is that pretty normal? Also I feel like I have a sore throat - just developed this afternoon. Is that related as well? All I've had to eat/drink since my fill is water and a 1/2 cup coffee.
