I bought a couple months supply of the Bariatric Advantage stuff. After that, I will just use stuff from Costco. I have read that others use them and their blood work is good. If mine isn't, then I will switch back. Kelly

I just got mine yesterday in the mail. I got the Chocolate Raspberry Tuffle. OMG!! So YUMMY!! I was impressed. No iron taste at all. They are really good. Kelly

True. THere are laws that protect your privacy and you do not have to give specifics. Just say you are having some medical issues and need to be out for a while. They can not pry. It is against the law. Hope this helps! Kelly

Hello and welcome!! I personally do not know what insurance you have, but I have Kaiser and live in N. California. They have a lot of requirements and as fast as you can reach goal weight and get thru your testing, you can have your surgery!! We are not required in N. Cali to do the 12 weeks of Options Classes like S. Cali is, thank goodness, but we still have to do a lot of stuff. I feel it is great that they make us take classes and meet nuts and learn stuff. That way we are prepared!! We know what is going to happen and how to eat afterwards. No surprises!! It has taken me a little over 5 months to get thru the program. I am scheduled for May 9th. YAY!! But, it has all been worth it. I have one more class next week to go to and one more test to do and I am done!! Best of luck to you. I would think that if it were o.k. to do it then go for it! Obviously your ob/gyn doesn't think that it is out of the question or he would not be talking to the bariatric surgeron about it. I think if they say you can and all your labs are fine, then go for it!! That way you only have to heal once! Why heal from the hysteroctmy and then have to heal later from the sleeve?? You may feel REALLY BAD for a while, but at least only once!! Best of luck to you! Kelly

I am not sure about this. I hear people say that they feel as if they get it, but not sure if it is really "dumping" or not. My dr. and case mgr say that sleevers don't get dumping. So, I don't know. Kelly

Thanks everyone! I guess I am just more concerned about the Fluoroscopy and why it was ordered. That freaks me out. If they know i have a hernia, why more tests? It just makes me think that there is something more they are not telling me! I just worry too much and make myself sick most times over nothing! I just emailed my surgeon and hopefully he will put me at ease! Kelly

I had the Pylori test done by blood. Maybe they do it this way too??? IDK, i am just really freaked out and the GI dr. ordered me to take the Fluoroscopy too, I just don't know why they need to do more x-rays and stuff if there isn't something wrong! UGHHH! Kelly

I don't think so. I mean they approve you on what you weigh now. If you do a diet to lose waiting to be sleeved and go below 40 bmi, they should still do it. My insurance does, I have Kaiser. I was 43 bmi and am now 34 bmi. I have lost 53lbs and my surgeon is THRILLED!! He said it will only help me post op and he will definatly still do the surgery. Besides, it will make me have a very short goal. Good luck to you! Kelly

So, I got my date, May 9th!! YAY. However, when I was in the dr.'s office they had me fill out my admitting paperwork so that when I show up to the hospital, I wont have to do it. On the back, they wanted my insurance info, now, Kaiser is it's own insurance and for those of you that don't know, they have their own everything. Dr.'s, nurses, hospitals, EVERYTHING. If you have Kaiser, you can only go to a Kaiser facility! They wanted to know who my insurance was through and what their phone number was. Well, it is my work, but shouldn't they know that? It is Kaiser for peets sake...they are their own insurance!!!! My question is this. I know that there are strict laws and HIPPA and stuff, but they are not going to call my work are they? I mean, I have told NOBODY that I work with about this!! And I would be devistated if they found out! The only person that knows is my husband at this point. I am really freaking out that they are going to call my work for some reason, but then again, I don't think that they can. Someone please tell me that they can't!! But, I don't know why they would ask for that information when they should know it, I guess I am just being paranoid because I am so afraid that my work is going to find out, only because some of the women I work with are such, well, you get the idea! i am not using an outside surgeon. I AM using their dr. at their facitliy. That is why I thought it was weird that they would ask for that information when they are their own everthing! Some people do use an outside facility when it is a cheaper option for them, maybe that is why? I, however, do not have to pay for my surgery. I don't know! It was the admitting paperwork for the hospital, so i don't have to do it when i show up to have the surgery. I will just ask next week when I go for the nutrition class. Certainally they will know! Well, on the form, they asked for my work name, address, phone #. I gave it to them, but gave them my direct line phone number! If they call, they will call me. I hope that they do not call, but if they do, they are going to call me! I know that they can always get the phone number to the office if they wanted it, but I think maybe they just want the information if there is a problem. I don't know.!!! I have to attend a nutrition class next week and my case manager will be there. I am going to ask her then why I had to fill the form out and my concerns about them contacting my work. I am sure that they will not and can not, I think I am just being paranoid because I fell as if I would just die if they found out! Thanks to both of you for your answers! Kelly
