    stomach "growlies"

It is not so much my stomach that does it, but my throat! Soon as i eat or drink anything it gurgles and sounds like a kitchen sink trying to drain. It is so annoying! I am on 17 days out, but Will it ever stop? Kelly

    I feel fat today

Diva gurl! You are HAWT!! Rockin' them size 8's are you kidding me? FAT??? Paleese! Where? Your big toe? HAHAHAH Seriously tho, our minds play with us and make us think things that aren't true. You have done a fantastic job. You are NOT FAT. You are slim and beautiful and should be very proud of your acomplishments! I am sure this is just a temporary thing, as you are usually so upbeat and happy about your weight loss! Drink some extra Water today and I am sure you will feel better tomorrow! Hugs, Kelly
  3. HA HA HA HA !!! I just noticed that you and I have the exact same ticker! How ironic!! Kelly

Red Velvet Gang- How Ya Doing?

Everyday does get better! I remember thinking there is no way I can drink that much, I can pretty much take normal drinks now. You will too!! I am 17 days out and I feel pretty much normal....except I can't eat or drink much at one time!! I still sound like a kitchen sink draining when I eat or drink anything too. It gurgles almost like you are trying to burp but don't. WEIRD and SOOO ANNOYING! Kelly
  6. I agree with MBMOM. I too have Kaiser, I followed their pre-op diet and lost 55lbs. I started it as soon as it was given to me. I was told I only had to lose 20lbs, but lost way more than that. I did that diet for 5 months faithfully until the day of my surgery. I believe that is what made my surgery so successful and my recovery time such a breeze. Be kind to yourself and do what you can to lose as much as you can before surgery, it will only benefit you! Best of luck! Kelly

    Ultra Low Carb?

Tiffy is everyone's idol!! YOU ROCK!! Kelly
  10. YAY! I am glad that your visit went so well! I sent you a personal email yesterday, did you get it? I wondered if you would even read it, I think you were the one that said you didn't know how to work it. Anyway, it is at the top by the part that says "signed in as" next to that is a drop down arrow with a number next to it. If there is a number there, that means you have a new message. you can click on that arrow and it will take you to your email. Just an FYI! I am so glad you are doing so well and get to eat "real food"!! My first experience with real food was uneventful as I told you all. The chicken salad felt stuck, so I didn't eat it again! BOO! Then I did egg salad and was afraid to eat it after everyone told me to be careful! I am just finding this eating thing to be a chore! I did make that ricotta bake and ate that for the past 2 days and it went well. I am going to have it for Breakfast again today and then that is gone! I made tuna salad for my lunch today and pureed the hell out of it. It is kinda runny. I hope it goes well. I think it should, it is kinda soupy! LOL I also took a bite last night and felt fine after eating it, so fingers crossed. I always get scared trying somthing new! How exciting that your Dr. wants you to speak to others about your experience. What an honor!! He must think highly of you and your achievement!! That is great!! :D :D GOOD FOR YOU!! I weighed this morning and lost another 1.5lbs!! I think the Protein I am now allowed to eat is helping! I still am not eating much. About 1/2-3/4 c a day, but it is def. making a difference on the scale. I had to stop drinking the Protein drinks. Those things not only gag the crap outta me, that is what was giving me the shits! Man, that was insane! If you are having the squirts, I bet it is those drinks! Those thinks SUCK! I am so happy for you and Michelle. We all are doing so well. It makes me Have a great day!! Hugs, Kelly
  11. You don't have to tell them anything. Just that you have to have a procedure and that is it! I didn't tell them I was having WLS, just that I was having hernia repair. I had that too! LOL It is nobody's business and with all of the HIPPA laws now a days, you don't have to say a word! That is so nice!! Best of luck to you! I will save a spot for you on the loser's bench! Kelly

    4 month surgiversary

GOod JOB!! Keep rockin' that sleeve!! Kelly
  14. I wasn't hungry the first couple days after surgery, but then it came back. I am 16 days out today and still get hungry. It doesn't seem to be that ravenous hunger like before, but my stomach still gowles and tells me when to eat. I can go much longer without eating than before too. So, don't get too discouraged, give it some time. I find everyday, my hunger issues get better and better! Good luck to you in your journey!! Kelly

    Reward for 50 lbs lost?

i would treat myself to a spa day. don't buy clothes, they will not fit you in a few weeks anyway! go get a massage or a facial. very relaxing and rewarding!! GOOD JOB YOU!!! Kelly
  18. Yeah, the surgery itself is really not painful. I had no issues at all except for the GAS. That was horrible!! Welcome to the other side!! Best of luck to you! Kelly

I ate some melted cheese last night

That must be torture to be on liquids for that long!! My plan is much like b190's. Clears for 3 days, full liquids for 2 weeks, pureed for 2 weeks, soft foods for 3 weeks, then normal foods. It is so weird how everyone's plan varies so drastically! Be careful eating something not within your guidelines, it can really cause trouble! Kelly

    Started pureed food

Hey Meggie!! Thanks for the warning!! Now I am afraid to eat my egg salad!! I am a so afraid of getting sick and undereat the way it is and take tiny bites of everything. I am nervous!! When my nut called me on Monday, she advised that egg salad was O.K, but not scrambled. I don't know. Should I wait? I don't want to get sick. I made and ate Eggface's Ricotta Bake last night. It was really good. If you get a chance, make it!! It is yummy. I only ate 1/4 c., but I really liked it. I brought more for my lunch today! Might have it now for b-fast, since I was going to have eggsalad!! LOL I weighed this a.m. and lost another 2lbs!! YAY!! Must have been the ricotta bake! Have a great day! Hugs, Kelly

    Those Crazies...

No, they totally discourage the Protein shakes. They don't want you to worry about protein in the liquid stages. Just to stay hydrated. You are only on liquids after surgery for 2 weeks and then you can eat protein. They want you to eat it and not drink it. I did do Isopure Water, but just a few days, that stuff is nasty. The Atkins drinks give me the runs and protein mixes are just nasty in general! I was glad they didn't want us to drink them, I couldn't!! That pre-op diet that is in your binder REALLY WORKS!! Do it!! I lost 55lbs in 5 months doing it. They will require you to lose some weight anyway, so start now. They weighed you today and will go off that weight, so anything you lose from now until your surgeon visit will be counted. Best of luck to you!! Kelly

    Those Crazies...

Congrats on your orientation. I too, used Kaiser Richmond. I am surprised that Robin (the nutritonist) did not throw that lady out!! They are all a no-nonsense type of group!! Kaiser is super good about teaching you everything that you need to know. You will be well informed by the time you have your surgery. I had my surgery 15 days ago with Dr. Fisher, he is THA BOMB!! Good luck to you in your journey!! Kelly

    Started pureed food

I don't seem to feel sick or anything. It is just the feeling like it is stuck in my thoat or a lump is there or something. I have not been sick (thank goodness), I also gurgle like a kitchen sink draining from my thoat. It is soooooo annoying! I think I will try the Ricotta bake tonight and maybe egg salad when that is gone. I just didn't think the chicken salad being so smushy would give me issues. I am bummed. I wonder if tuna will do the same? I guess one day it will cease! Kelly

    Day 15 Post Op

Hi Michelle, I love, love, love Rascal Flatts. They are so awesome. Gary Levox is my boyfriend!! LOL Don't worry about the gain gurl! You seriously could not have done ANYTHING to gain 4lbs!!! Probably just your body rebelling. I gained .8 today too! Wow, us Red Velvert's sure do a lot of the same crazy stuff! Could just be we are adjusting. Who knows, but I do know that I did not eat anything to warrant that and you didn't either, so don't worry about it! Keep on keepin on. It will come off , it has to! I am eating my pureed chicken salad right now and it is like a lump in my thoat, but I am doing it. I too am very happy that I was given this gift. It is a HUGE learning curve, but I am glad to be on the receiving end! Hugs, Kelly
