    What do you think?

Thanks for your replies. I think that maybe I was eating too little and I was "starving". I was getting only about 300-400 calories a day up to about 3-4 days ago. Now, I am trying to eat more by snacking (not supposed to)!! However, I am eating 600-700 now! I weighed this a.m. and lost 2 lbs. I think I just need to eat more. I am going to try that for a few weeks and see where it takes me. I will take the advice into play as well. thanks again! Kelly

    lab result came back bad

Yep! I had the Hpylori too! And I agree about the antibiotics, they are rough!! Made me feel sick for about 4 days. THEY ARE STRONG!! Have to take lots of them for 14 days and double up on my PPI too!! Better to clear it up before surgery tho! They will still operate tho if you get it cleared up! Don't worry, you will be fine! Expired products

Exp. dates are on things for a reason. I am sure it would not hurt you, but I am sure they are probably not as effective as fresh! Kelly
  5. My dr. said after 3-4 weeks your staple line is healed and you will not be at risk any longer. Kelly

    Red Lobster 4 Lunch Today

mmmmmm. yummmm! I love those little biscuts!! I think you did a good job. Just think of how much you would have eaten if you did not have your new tummy! GOOD JOB!! oh, and Happy Birthday!! Kelly
  7. Mine was high too and they said the same thing to me asking if I had been sick! Don't worry, my dr. explained that it was not a big deal and it just means that your immune system works GREAT!! And that your white blood cells are functioning good and are good at fighting off infection! And that is a GOOD thing! Kelly

    1.5 weeks out exercise

I too have walked everyday since my surgery-just about!!! I wanted to do so much more, but was limited until my 6 weeks check up. I wasn't allowed to lift over 10lbs and NOTHING abs at all!! After 6 weeks I could do whatever I wanted to do! Now, I jog and lift weights. Kelly
  9. It just becomes a routine and you do it. Like brushing your teeth, you just do it! I started my vites, calcium, Iron and b-12 a month before surgery, so I was used to taking them afterwards. I have been taking a PPI for 7 years, so I also am use to taking that when I get up. As for the Water, that is my hardest feat. I find it really difficult to get it all in. I drink and drink and still can't get in the 64oz. and I am 7 1/2 weeks out. I know it will get easier, but it is really hard!! I feel like I drink all damn day! I never had that issue before. I think not drinking before, during and after is the issue! I use to drink 3 glasses of tea with dinner! Not any more! I started losing hair at about 3 weeks out. Now, I lose lots everytime I wash and brush! It is GROSS!! But, I consider it my trophy! LOL It will become habit all of these things and you will just do it! You will do fine!! Kelly

    Warmed up G2?

YES!! Lovemyboys is correct. Please don't worry about Protein right now!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so hard to stay hydrated at this stage of the game!! Worry about that and not having to go to the ER to get fluids!! Seriously, don't even worry about protein until you are able to eat soft foods. I drove myself insane trying to do it all in the begining!! Just sip, sip, sip!! You will be fine! Kelly
  11. WOW!! Congrats to you! Kelly

what med did they give you post op?

I was on diluad pump in hospital and HIGH as a kite!! the next day, they swiched me over to liquid vicoden and sent me home with a HUGE bottle of it. I never even took it! Didn't need it. You will be fine!!! Your stomach doesn't have nerves in it like your fingers or toes. You will not feel where they cut it out! PROMISE!! You will be sore and might have gas. That was the worst pain for me was the gas, but the pain meds weren't going to help with that!! I felt like I did 2,000 crunches about 5 days after surgery and looked like I had been beat with a ball bat for a couple of weeks!! LOL I did take some liquid Tylenol a couple times for a headache, but overall, I was fine and most are too. Good luck to you! Kelly
  13. Me too!! I have been about the same weight give or take about 3lbs for 2 weeks. However, my new pants are already getting too big and everyday people tell me how skinny I look. So, I know the process is working!! Don't get too discouraged. Trust it, IT WORKS!! Kelly

    LOL!! Kelly
  15. Hi! I live 2 hours away from the nearest hospital that did my surgery. I have Kaiser for my insurance and was allowed to do all my needed testing at my home facilities. I only had to go to the needed appointments to see the surgeon and attend the seminars at the facility that was 2 hours away, oh and for the surgery too!!. Each program IS differnet and you should just ask them. Hope this helps. Kelly

Help - ??s on Sleeve "Rules"

Yes, you do need to chew, chew, and chew some more. I am almost 2 months out and my dr. advised me to NOT chew so well so the food stays in my tummy longer. I was worried it would make me sick, but it doesn't! I chew good, but not to liquid constancy like I did in the begining. If you eat past full, you WILL throw up or get the slimies. I haven't but there are a lot that do! Good luck to you! Kelly

    Avoiding Protein Shakes

I HATE Protein drinks. The smell the taste JUST AWFUL!! After surgery, they gave me the squirts too!! I have found one that is fairly good. Pure Protein vanilla you can get it at Target and Walmart. They also have the RTD cans at Vitamin Shoppe and Amazon. The strawberry Creame is SOOOO GOOD! And 35g of protein to boot! Kelly
  18. Good Job!! Isn't is so nice to put a one in front of your weight instead of a two?? CONGRATS!! Kelly

    Charlie Horses

Thanks everyone! I figured it was something to do with my new found belly and not getting enough of something, as I have never had these before! And have had 3 since surgery 5/9/11. I will try some of the suggestions and see how they help. If no help, I will tell my dr. I have blood tests next month for my 3 month marker. I am sure if there are deficincies they will show up! Thanks again! Kelly
  21. UGGG! For the past month, I have been having (3 and in the middle of the night) charlie horses in my left calf. I NEVER had them in my life pre-op and I was reading that lack of sodium, potassium, magnesium or Calcium can cause this and also dehydration. I drink like a fish, so I really do not think it is dehydration, I take calcium and lots of it. I am worried that I may have a deficiency of some sort. Anyone else have these? I am eating a banana now for potassium. Kelly
  22. man i waste A LOT of food!

How'd You Determine Your Goal Weight?

I am tall too! I went on the high side of what I "should" weigh. I will start there and see. I am afraid that will still be too thin for me tho, as I have been about 10 lbs heavier before and looked really good at that weight! I think it is a trial and error thing. I will just see. I am not going to be 140lbs just cuz they say I should if I look horrible at that weight! Kelly
  24. I think 4 weeks is SOOOO extreme. Unless you have some major complication! I was sleeved on a Monday and went back the following Monday. I was sore and tired, but was fine!! I didn't take any pain meds after I left the hospital and the only real pain I had was gas! You will be fine, but listen to your body. Everyone is different!! Kelly

    PRE OP DIET

My advice to you would be start dieting today!!!! The more you can lose pre-op the better off you will be. It will make your surgery go smoother and make your recovery time easier! My dr. wanted me to lose 20lbs and I lost 55lbs. He said he wished all his paitents would do the same. He had no problems and my surgery was a breeze for him. I did not have a single complication and went back to work in 7 days. I attribute my success to such a big weight loss pre-op. You are also setting yourself up for your life after surgery and the way you will eat forever. Put those habits into place now for success later!Plus, the more you lose, the less you will have to lose post-op! Good luck to you! Kelly
