    Eating Slowly

What i found really helped me in the begining was timing myself between bites. I HATE to throw up and was so scared of doing so that made me eat slowly!! I looked at the clock and would wait 1 minute between my bites and chew and chew!! BORING i know, but it worked for me. Now that I am 3 months out, i just eat slowly now and have NEVER gotten sick!! So, it worked for me!! Try it!! Kelly

    Vertigo

I had the exact same thing after surgery. Do you take blood pressure meds??? If so, you may need to see your primary dr. to come off them as you may not need them any more. That was a problem for me. I also was SEVERLY anemic after surgery and that was a big reason I was so dizzy!! A simple blood test will show that. It is worth a trip to your dr. to see what is going on. Kelly
  4. My surgeon said there isn't anything that can be done about the hair loss. It will fall out no matter what. It WILL grow back! AND.............I should think of my hair loss as a "TROPHY" So, that is what I do everytime a get a handfull!! LOL Kelly

    Protein 4 months out

It is sooo much better to EAT your Protein and not DRINK it. It stays in your tummy longer. Try eating meat, fish, eggs, and cheese as your protein source and not drinking it. You will be much more satisfied. Kelly

  9. So tomorrow is my 3 month sleeveversary!! WOO HOO. I wanted to give an update on my progress to everyone and my RED VELVET's!! As of tomorrow, I can officially have a "regular" diet and eat anything I wish. Within reason of course. Just meaning, nothing is off limits like before. I am soooo looking forward to having a salad and have bought all my stuff for it!! YAY! I have done really well. I have not had any nausea or vomiting. Have not overeaten or felt ill from eating and am happy about that. I actually undereat my sleeve for fear of this!! I exercise daily and eat according to my plan. As of today, I have lost 95lbs!! WOOP. 40lbs since surgery 3 months ago and 55lbs pre-op!! I have gone from 280 to 185 and a 43.2 bmi to a 28.1!!! I have not taken my bp or diabetic medication since one week after surgery and my blood sugars are in the 80-90's daily!! I am soooo happy about that. I went from a 22/24 clothing size and now wear a loose 12. I really can't say enough good things about my sleeve. I love it! I would love to hear how my Red Velvet's and other's are doing!!! Kelly

    3 months sleeved!!

Thanks!! I am supposed to eat 1/2 c three times a day right now, but I can not do that. When I do, I only consume around 300-400 calories and that does not work for me! So, I eat my three meals and a snack or two depending on my calorie count for the day. I use my fitness pal to track my calories, but really that is all I pay attention to. I don't count carbs at all. B- 2-2.5 oz Protein (chicken, fish, trukey burger) or scrambled/boiled egg S-Light cheese stick L- 2-2.5 oz protein (tuna, chicken, trukey, meatballs, lunchmeat) S- 1 oz. Jerky or 1oz nuts or pure Protein shake or bar D- 2-2.5 oz protein (salmon, steak, tri-tip, chicken) a couple green Beans. I rarely can eat all my meat at meal times. I can eat more steak and fish than chicken. I have not eaten any "bad carbs" rice, bread, Pasta, etc. I have had a couple bites of baked yams and some cooked veggies, but that is about it. I do not eat sweets at all. I exercise pretty much everyday. I walk mostly at a very fast pace about 3-4 miles. I try to keep my calories between 750-850 daily. Kelly

  17. Have you tried the drinkable yogurt? It is filling. Unfortuantly there really isnt much to eat on full-liquids. Hang in there. It DOES get better!! Kelly
  18. I am 12 weeks out tomorrow and have not eaten anything I am not supposed to as of today. The thought of eating fast food, bread, pizza, carbs of any type really make me feel weird. I have not had a cookie, cake ice cream choclote or piece of pie since months before surgery and really don't miss them! I was afraid in the begining to try them for fear of them making me sick, but now, I really don't want to. For the things I have tried that I didn't like: The only thing I have eaten that was weird for me was YOGURT. I use to love it and eat it daily. Now, it tastes so nasty to me! I was so upset during my full-liquid stage. I bought lots of it and different brands, but I just couldn't eat it. I tried a bite of my husbands yesterday morning and it still tasted like poo to me! Kelly

I am so mad at myself

It is all so overwhelming in the begining and hard to do everything perfect. I am a rule follower and follow instructions to a "T" and it was hard for me to do everything perfect the first 4 weeks!! If you are able to eat more, it just means your swelling has gone down faster than most. That is great, but you really should do what your plan calls for. Don't beat yourself up too much over it, just do what you are supposed to do and you will be fine. I am 12 weeks out tomorrow and still learning. It definatley is a learning curve. Hugs, Kelly

    Tired!

Have you tried MIO?? It is flavored enhancer for water. I love it because you can put a little or alot in your water. It is NOT super sweet like Crystal Lite. I hate that stuff! The Pomegrante Berry is my favorite, but they have lots of other flavors. It is in the isle with the juices and crstal lite. Try it, it make the water drinking so much easier and no calories are in it! Kelly
  21. And that is another thing, I weigh 185 and wear a loose size 12. You would think I would wear a much bigger size at that weight. I am sure some of my weight is my height. Kelly

  24. I did not tell a sole except for my husband and probably would not have told him if i didn't have to!! LOL People are just so ignorant when it comes to this subject and I chose not to tell anyone. I think it depends on each person and how they want to live. If you want people to know, then tell. If you don't, then don't! You will have temtation EVERWHERE with food and not just at work. Don't expect people to change for you. You need to change your behaviors! I still make cakes and take them to work for my co-worker's, but I don't eat them. Kelly
  25. My surgeon said the same thing. After the 4th week, your stomach is healed, therefore, you shouldn't experience a leak! Kelly
