Hello everyone, I havent posted in while, its been 7 months since I have been banded Ive lost a total of 50 lbs. I WISH it was ALOT more, but I cant seem to get anymore weight off. My restrictions pretty good, I can still eat a little more than I think I should with the band but I dont want to be toooooo tight. I must say I do eat a little fast that I know I should still be working on. But im wondering how people get to like 120 lbs lost lol. Im really really curious. Any idea insight, suggestions advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you! & by the way the 50 lbs lost Ive only went down two pant sizes which I wish would have been a lot more.

Weight Loss Has Slowed Down =(
armywife1129 replied to armywife1129's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Thanks everyone for the insight I do appreciate it. My exercising should be bumped up a bit I do agree, I try to exercise as often as possible but i am not on a regular routine I have a 4 year old thats keeps me on my toes & when he naps or goes to bed early Im able to get it in. My husbands coming home from a deployment shortly so I know ill be able to make trips to the gym on a daily basis which im really really excited about. I think i just need to get back into a routine & keep pushing im sure ill get over this slump shortly. I had some fluid removed from my last fill because I was so tight I couldnt even get water down, I was in so much pain just from the water trying to pass they had to remove fluid, I am able to eat about a cup and half of food at meal time, so im going to kick up my will power & eat less & get my butt back in the gym. thanks all =D -
Okay. So I haven't posted in a while. I have been banded since April 7 2011 I started at 271 and I'm at 248 that was mostly lost during preop dieting. I have got one fill which I do have restriction but can eat a lot still. I have been working out daily, I do Zumba an hour a day Monday thru Friday, I'm not the most careful person watching what I eat but I do do my best and try. I havent lost a pound since my fill a month ago and it's very very discouraging. I see people say the weight drops off fast for them but I'm completely stuck. I have 1 pound that completely just goes up one day down one day and so fourth. I have another fill next week. I hate being discouraged but it's not easy to be happy about not loosing. When I go for a fill and they see I haven't lost is depressing. Any suggestions. Do you count calories or cabs. Ect. Any help I'd appreciate as well as advice.

Thanks for the advice. I definitely will change it up. I'm hoping after another fill that will be the kick in the butt. What's better calorie counting or carb counting? -
So. I was banded April 7th. When this all started I was 271 lbs I am now 244 lbs but now it's kinda jus came to a halt. I will admit I don't always eat the healthiest I do not snack though and stay away from sweets I eat out alot (more so restraunt like) which I need to stop. I don't have much motivation to work out or eat healthier. I'm fed up with being this weight but were do you find the encouragement and determination to take this band head on and just work your butt off Ect. I jus need a kick in the hiney I'm guessing lol.

I had some mashed potatoes today which dr said was ok and my shoulder pain is so severe I actually had watery eyes from the pain. When I breath In it stings, nothing reliefs the pain, gas-x, tried baby gas drops, tums, I also tried a Mexican remedy my mother I'n law did on me and nothing worked. I'm 5 days post op. It's like heartburn and air at the same time help. Any suggestions

How did your relationship change?
armywife1129 replied to pamela3782's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A friend of mine her husband was unsupportive he was so use to her being overweight he felt threatened that she would find someone else after weight loss. After her surgery they were just fine though she has shown him that she doesn't want anyone else and he is happy with her results. My husband has been supportive since I first discussed getting the band with him. I'm insecure about how I look and he's looking forward to the day were I feel happy and good about myself because for song long I've hate everything about the excess weight. GL with everything wish you and your husband all the best -

armywife1129 replied to Woodslass's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 5 days post op and still I'n alot of pain. Last night I had pain I'n my shoulder that felt like I wanted to vomin from it hurting so much. That I'n assuming is the gas. I have went thru alot of gas-x chews and strips nothings working. My pain Meds dont work either. I have a hard time taking a deep breath and have to lay practically sitting up. The biggest pain factor for me is my hunger pains when my stomach growls I tighten up and bend over to put pressure but the pains are more then awful. Hope I feel better sooner than later. As well as everyone else whose having pain -

armywife1129 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So my doctor just called me to check up on how i have been. which i thought was very nice lol. & he asked if ive thrown up and been able to drink more than 4oz in an hour and i have been able to. I did mention my hunger pains when my stomach growls it hurts extreeeemllyyyy bad! So he said i can throw in some pureed stuff, anything thats not completly solid but more of a liquid form, im supposed to be on liquids for 2 weeks and im only 3 days post op. He said i can have chicken noodle soup as long as the noodles are soft. I know its best to leave it up to doctor and follow his rules i juts was wondering if anyone else was able to consume noodles at only 3 days post op. and chicken noodle soup noodles are VERY VERY soft they mash up in my mouth very easy. -

I'm just scared of stretching my stomach from eating mushies to soon. Is that possible I never have more than 2-3oz of food at a time even though I could eat alot more I'm limiting myself to only that -
Btw my nutritionist NeVER calls me back. I left message and called numerous times and she don't answe so I did mashe potatoes on my own since I needed to do something and she wasnt there to help

I'm pretty weak to. I think it has to do with the food intake. I' Was banded on Thursday and I feel light headed alot an often. I wasn't supposed to start mushie mushies but I did have some mashed potatoes since then I have a small bowl like a about 2oz and it jus totake the hunger pain away and it has helped I feel tired still just not as tired.

I ate some chicken noodle soup unblended but I mushed the noodles up and chewed really good to were it wpuldve got thru a straw. It filled me up so fast and I can't explain how delicious it was. I may add some mashed potatoe soup today it's thicker than the chicken noodle but I'm going to try and make it more liquidy this time. The hunger pains are sooo bad if I'm standing the growling will make me shaky and light headed so I have to have something in my stomach. I am watching my calories and drinking 3 protein shakes a day with lots of water and dr said crystal light was fine -
I'm 2 days post op an wondering if anyone has any ideas of good tasting liquids. Can we blend stuff and drink it. I been drinking the juice from a cambells chicken noodle soup. And eating Popsicles and jell-o but does anyone have any other suggestions I'm starting to feel the hunger pains.

Anyone experience almost no pain after surgery
armywife1129 replied to newme4611's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Im the opposite and I had surgery the same dateZ I'm experiencing alot of pain. Your lucky, Everyones body is different I'd still take it easy if I were you. -
So I'm having hunger pains that are pretty extreme and they are causing me to be in more pain cause my stomach is growling really loud and it is hurting my port area. Is that normal? Is there supposed to be resitiction right now on drinks? After a few sips of water I tend to get a stomach ache and it comes an goes kinda like little contractions. Ok really sore and trying to rest but also move around a bit. Just want to know if these things are normal. Thanks.

Pain.... Stomach pains
armywife1129 replied to armywife1129's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks. It hasn't gotten any better I'm in ALOT of pain and all I was given is Tylenol with codeine I wish they wouldn't gave me vicodin or something cause the Tylenol just isn't cutting it. I been taking gas x strips those help a little but my left shoulder has some MAJOR air/gas stuck in it. That's making it somewhat hard to take a deep breath. My hunger is bad but after I drink a protein shake it kinda goes away a bit. My family had mcdonalds today I didn't have no temptation I was proud of myself I didn't care for it but I'm more worried about not having pain. -
Someone HELP! Im getting sick & surgerys TOMORROW!
armywife1129 posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I wake up at 1 am with a stuffy nose and a somewhat sore throat. I feel the cold coming on and my surgery is tomorrow. Today I am on my no protein or bars just clear liquids because tomorrow morning is my surgery. Im very upset that im getting sick now. I have been on a 2 week liquid diet that was extremly hard on me and I dont want to postpone this surgery because im going to have to extend the liquid diet and whats worse is my mom and sister both took time off that they put in for a long time ago for my surgery. They wont be able to change the days they took off since it starts tomorrow and I wont have anyone to take my 3 year old son to school or help me with him during recovery. Any suggestions? i cant take any meds today, my diet today consists of clear liquids and lime jello ONLY and nothing after midnight tonight. Idk what to do, im going to call my doctor when they open in 3 hours but I wish they would have done the surgery today so that tomorrow im not more sick , cause my colds barely coming on i want to fight it off before it gets worse, or do the surgery before it gets bad. Any suggestions? -
A couple hours post op I have a few ??s
armywife1129 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I did end up having surgery this morning. All went well. I do have some hunger and so far I'm only able to hold about 2-3 teaspoons of water or juice and I have to take 3 teaspoons of Tylenol with codein how am I supposed to drink all that if I feel like i want to vomit after 2 teaspoons? Anyone else have pain breathing in on the port, I'm guessing it's gas. -
I was barely banded today, i also have left shoulder pain, my dr. said it should go away in a day or two, im guessing its from the air they pump inside of you. I took some tums 2 of them and it has seemed to go away.

armywife1129 replied to armywife1129's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks I'm hoping they don't call it a cold because just sneezing an a somewhat running nose don't feel like a cold to me anymore. Once the sore throat went away I started feeling better. Hope all goes well tomorrow I'm going to be a nervous wreck until then -

armywife1129 replied to armywife1129's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well the days been going and I'm starting to believe it's allergies and sinus rather than a cold my throat went away with a halls that my doc said I can take and they did advice if I had an upper respitory or infection they will postpone it two weeks. Which means starting my two week liquid diet OVER no babysitter for my son and no one to help me thru recovery. So I am going to go in tomorrow morning hoping it's only allergies cause they did say allergies are no problem. I have no phlegm or cough just some sneezing and some mucus in my nose.
