  1. Ok, so since I have been back to work I have been noticing some alarming things. It seems like almost everything I eat makes me sick to my stomach and I have thrown up everyday since Friday. Its not even getting stuck, its just plain throwing up. I also feel a heaviness in my upper stomach area and its hard to take a deep breath. I'm also experiencing weird hiccup-like burps that are really painful. I have had a pretty easy time of it up until now and I'm wondering if I didn't make a HUGE mistake? Anyone else had any of this type of stuff?
  2. It seems to be any kind of food and now liquid. I'm just nauseous at all time and spent most of last night dry heaving. At this point the sight and smell of any food makes me sick and I'm having a hard time even keeping Water down. I'm going to call the Dr. this morning to see if they can give me something for the nausea. I'm hoping that all of the vomiting hasn't moved the band at all. Thanks for the replies.
  3. My surgery was 4/13/11 and I really had not problems until just recently. I don't know if it's what I'm trying to eat but I'm almost afraid to eat anything.
  4. I'm so glad that I found this thread as I am the same way. I'm 2 weeks and 1 day out and starving. I didn't get any real instructions when I left the hospital because the surgeon has only just begun doing them there again and they had nothing. I was told to stick to liquids until I saw him again which was on Tuesday and I couldn't do it. I lost 13.5 pretty quickly and it's not been about a week and the scale hasn't moved. I am ate a chicken nugget and 1/2 6 days out and have eaten little bits of different things here and there, but it's been all Protein so I don't understand why the standstill. I'm doing Protein shakes, but they don't keep me full for long. I really don't feel like I have much restriction but there must be some because I experienced "stuck" and it was not pleasant at all. I'm going to start amping up my walking, but I guess I just thought it would be different than it truly is. Any suggestions to get back on track? BTW...the Dr. told me Tues. I could eat whatever I can tolerate.

    Getting to Know You

Hi all! My name is Corey and I'm 40, married with a son and a daughter. I have been gaining weight steadily for a long time. I was a chubby kid, but when I got into my teens I got thin, then in my 20's, I started putting on weight. Once I had my son it just spiraled from there. Its hard to tell someone that you still haven't lost all of the "baby weight" when she is going to be 10, yah know? I went through a bunch of stress about 3 years ago and lost 45 lbs. and was going to the gym and working out and feeling great and then I just let it all go. I managed to gain about 60 back and I am the biggest I've ever been. It never really hit home until I saw a picture of my son and I together on his formal night and it was a definite - OMG moment. It was a couple of days after I had gone for my initial consultation and that did it for me right there. As nice as it would be to be the "Hot Mom", I will be happy to not be the mom that embarasses her kids by how big she is. I too would like to cross my legs and not worry about taking up too much space in my seat at a hockey game or at a movie. I would like to walk into a regular store and buy something because I like it and it's cute, not because it might fit and not make me look too terrible. (Ok seriously, who the hell designs clothes for plus size women?) I want to walk across the floor in our building (I work on one of the upper floors) and not feel like the ceiling is coming down on the people below. I'm getting my surgery on the 13th and I'm getting a little more excited by the day. I'm doing a self imposed liquid (mostly) diet to get ready and even though I'm a little scared, I can't wait to get this thing going in the right direction!

    Pre-Diet

@ Musarion - my information said that 2 days before surgery to do a Full liquid diet—Creamy soups, milkshakes, liquid Protein shakes, ice cream, and pudding. The day before is clear liquid - coffee, tea, broth, clear sodas. I'm voluntarily starting a liquid diet just to get used to it. My surgery is scheduled for the 13th, but I thought I'd better get a jump start. So far so good. I haven't cheated yet....yet!

    Any April bandsters out their???

I'm scheduled for the 13th too! I'm voluntarily doing liquids (day 2) and it's not easy but not nearly as tough as I thought it was going to be.
  8. Hi all! I've been lurking around the boards for a couple of months now and thought I'd post. I went for the intitial consult on 1/4/2011 and after all the evals & stuff, scheduled to have surgery on 4/13/2011. Because of my insurance, I have to use a Ctr. of Excellence and its Dr. Keshishian doing the surgery. I don't have to do any pre-op diet or anything other than 2 days before a liquid diet and Clear liquids the day before with the clean out drink as well. I'm considering starting a liquid diet 2 weeks prior to get myself ready and be used to it by the 13th. I have purchased a bunch of Protein samples to try and I'm looking forward to starting this journey.
