    Frustration

Yes! Yes! Yes! Up protein, drink more water, and exercise! Stalls suck! I just came off of a stall too! Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 230 GW: 155 Heather in Texas
  2. It is a stall!!! That is the good news! 3 women in my family have been sleeved and all 3 have stalled 1-3 weeks out for 2-5 weeks! I was a revision from a band and I stalled at 1 week for 2 more weeks. I have since lost 10 lbs in 8 days once my stall stopped! Both sisters have been successful with the sleeve. 150 lbs and 70 lbs lost by each. You may double check and look at your calories. Once I started eating more Protein and veggies (I was on any an all foods at 3 weeks!) and exercising (which you are already doing!!) then I dropped it! Keep on going. If you are following what the dr says with food, Water, protein, exercise, then you should be golden. Research the "3 week stall" because it is supposedly a thing. It has happened with 3 out of 3 sleeves in my house! Good luck! You have got this! Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 230 GW: 155 Heather in Texas
  3. I think mentally my goal has always been "onederland" but I know I would be in a good healthy range at 145. I just want to feel good. I want to walk into any store at any time and find clothes that fit me! I want to take many flights of stairs or break into a run without feeling winded! (I have reached this goal, but I can always get stronger!). I want to sit in a coach airplane seat and not contort myself so as to not crowd the person next to me! I want to be a Zumba instructor! When I reach those goals, I will be happy with my weight. I was 180 in the 8th grade, at 5'4" so I have never been thin. I don't have a place to "get back to!" I am already surpassing my weight from college so I have to go by feeling!! Everyone is different, but the scale can be harsh... When to stop eating

For me, there isn't really a physical feeling until I stack too much and I can feel it coming up. (I have made that huge mistake a few times!) I eat 2-4 bites of something then stop. If my body gives me actual hunger later, I will have a few more bites. I, like you, don't feel hungry so I also don't feel full. I can tell that my body is hungry because I get stomach cramping and feel light headed. I think you get to a point where you know when enough is enough! Why Would't The Band Work?

I'm 6 years out....I have lots of opinions on the band. I, personally couldn't reach the green area with fills after 2 years out. DON'T eat whatever you want. Eat what the dr tells you to eat. EXERCISE!!!! I lost 75 lbs in the first 9 months, but gained 50 back because I stopped eating the right foods and started eating whatever I wanted! I lost the 50 plus 25 more when I got back on track. I had problems with the band being too tight during my TOM and pain when I ate any meat or veggies. I had my band removed and went to sleeve 1 month ago. Completely different! The band can work if you are disciplined, track your food, EXERCISE, stay on top of your fills (you may need lots for many years to come!) and work the tool you have been given! Congrats on the surgery!! Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 235. GW: 155 Heather in Texas

    I HAD MY SURGERY YESTERDAY!

I had mine almost 1 month ago. The craziest realization for me was how much better EVERYTHING is with the sleeve over the band. I can eat meat and veggies without the pain that I always had from the restriction of the band. It is also nice to not have the hunger. I only feel "hungry" when I need to eat! Good luck on your journey! Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 235. GW: 155 Heather in Texas

    Stall for 2 weeks!

I just got off of a 2 week stall that happened 1 week after surgery! Talk about disappointing! I upped my activity, focused on Protein and Water and dropped 7 lbs in the last week. Stalls happen, but don't let it discourage you. I think people in general are not too observant and not many hand out compliments. I go by how I feel. I feel great! My knees and hips don't hurt and my skin looks great so I know loss is in my future! Keep on keeping on! Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 235. GW: 155 Heather in Texas

    Cookies!

Don't go down the cookie path!!! Once you start eating sugar and carbs from slider foods (foods that go down easy like Cookies, crackers and chips) that can be the beginning of the end. I have only been sleeved for almost 4 weeks but I don't really crave slider foods because I haven't really been eating any slider foods. Stop now and try to get back on track. I was banded in 2010 and lost 75 lbs, but gained 50 back when I started to eat sliders. I lost the 50 plus 25 more when I got back on track! I got sleeved when I started to have band issues and had a hard time keeping food down. I refuse to let that happen this time. I have heard that sometimes acid medication can help control what you think are cravings. It is all completely psychological, but it is TOUGH! I understand completely! You can do this and you have a great tool to help you get there! Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 235. GW: 155 Heather in Texas

    Meal ideas

If you like coconut cream pie, I use non fat Greek yogurt (6-8oz), sugar free instant vanilla pudding mix (1tbs), 1 scoop Protein powder, some coconut extract, unsweetened almond milk to get it the consistency that you can eat, and a small amount of toasted coconut on the top. I'm 3 weeks out so I'm still eating this because it is very low sugar, high protein, and tastes great. Be careful with the toasted coconut and make sure that your doctor will allow it. Toasted coconut breaks down when you chew it, but shredded coconut doesn't! This mixture lasts me 4-5 meals. Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 235. GW: 155 Heather in Texas

    Meal ideas

I have lots of ideas!!! What stage exactly are you in? Soft solids? Or does your doctor make you do purée? I was on anything I wanted 2 weeks out, but I have a few suggestions for all stages. Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 235. GW: 155 Heather in Texas

    Do you eat breakfast?

Protein shake every morning has always helped with weight loss. I have only been sleeved for 3 weeks, but banded for 6 years. It is completely different now because I never want to eat, but I do my shake without fail! Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 235. GW: 155 Heather in Texas
  13. My dr says that VSGrs definitely dump! I haven't experienced it yet because I am only 3 weeks out, but it was discussed in my pre op classes! Banded 2010 weight:327 Sleeved 12/28/16 weight:253 CW: 235. GW: 155 Heather in Texas

    What Multi Vitamin best?

I take the BA capsule. I am 3 weeks out and have been taking it for 2 weeks. No taste, just point your face down when you swallow instead of your natural reflex to look up! The capsule floats so you have to drink more if you throw your head back! Take on an empty stomach then eat or drink a shake. 2 in morning, 1 at night! SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas

    I joined the losers bench!

My biggest suggestion is don't weigh for a month! Most of the people I have known have stalled about 1 week in and then dropped significantly about 1 month out! Don't focus on losing, focus on healing! Drink lots of liquids and walk as much as you can! I am 3 weeks out and it has been a breeze. I'm back to working out (just walking right now, but running soon!) and getting plenty of fluids. I feel great and my clothes are fitting just wonderfully! My big loss in my signature is from being banded previously. I had my revision on 12/28. Good luck! SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas

    2 weeks post op sleeve

Yep! I stalled 1 week in! No change for 2 weeks then I dropped 4 lbs over night! Focus on healing, not on loss! Both of my sisters stalled at the same point, but 1 has lost 70 lbs and 1 has lost 150 lbs. I have only been sleeved for a little over 3 weeks, but I'll let you know!! If you are eating what your dr says to eat and drinking Water, then you should be good! Keep the faith!! SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas

12 days post op and gaining?

@@ChunkyGirl79 Same issue here! I am 10 days out from my band to sleeve revision. I lost almost 18 lbs in the first week, but have gained 2-3 in the last 5 days! I have heard it is a stall. I'm trusting the process and the fact that I'm pretty active and only consuming 400-600 calls daily, so gain isn't actually possible. How have you been in the almost 2 weeks since this post? SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas

    Ice Cream Post Op

halo top is basically a frozen Protein shake. I would totally eat that. SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas

    Airport Security Curiosity

My skin always gets me groped by TSA. 100 lb loss but 90 more to go, so no surgery yet. I consider every grope a chance to tell someone about my weight loss. Hanging arms and knees (even though skin doesn't hang there) are my most groped areas! SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas

    Question for the 100+lb losers

Amen to @@Bufflehead tips and pointers!! I am 100 lbs down and kept most of it off for 6 years. I workout 4-5 days per week and kept high Protein 60-80g per day and lots of water! Very low carb! I did all of this with a band. When I started having a hard time with the band (slip and prolapse) I started eating carbs and bad foods because they were easier to stomach than the good foods. I stopped working out and gave up. I gained 25 lbs over the next few months. I had my band removed and was sleeved on 12/28. Doing great and back on track. Don't start with the bad foods. Don't have them in your house. A little leads to quite a bit in the future. If you cut sugar out then you don't crave it, in my experience. Once you start it again, it is the beginning of the end. Push the beginning stages adhering to the rules as much as possible at the beginning because it gets harder as you get farther out! Low carbs, high protein, exercise, exercise, exercise!!!! SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas
  22. How about some fat free refried Beans (I like the refried black beans) with some plain Greek yogurt (tastes like sour cream and has protein), salsa, some lean ground beef and a bit of cheese. Keep it lean with ingredients, but beans have protein! Maybe with a few "juicier" ingredients the bit of ground beef will sit better? I created a high Protein, low sugar custard-like dessert that tastes like coconut cream pie, if you are interested in sweet. Easily 10-15g protein in 1/4c. (I'm in soft solids stage so I'm working on recipes!) SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas
  23. I took 1 week off. At the end of that week I wanted to die or go back to work because I was so tired of laying around!!!! I run a resort, so not much lifting, just standing, walking and talking! I get a little tired from lack of calories, but overall pretty great! SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas

    1 day post open, home

So glad to hear you are feeling better!!! I forgot to mention that drinking hot liquids, broth, cider, hot tea, really helped any time I was feeling bloated. It sounds like you are in the right track! SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas

    Surgery and Menopause

I was banded in 2010. 8 days ago I got my band removed and had a sleeve. Since the band didn't remove any anatomy, it didn't change my hormones, PCOS actually improved! After sleeve, it's hot flash city!!! I lost 100 originally, but gained from complications....almost back to 100 down!! SW:327 CW:239 GW:155 Heather in Texas
