I can't wait to get to goal so I can start this journey too -
About to talk to my boss....
Deakay replied to NewMe86's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tell anybody and everybody.......lol I know it isn't really their business, but I don't really care I did this for me! -
ok, so what about a skin tag? I have one on my inner thigh I'm too chicken to cut off.........any suggestions?

I'm going to be 49 this year and have excessively dry skin.....my face flakes off in the winter and looks kind of puckery have battled it for a while but just found Bio Oil at Walmart. $12 and this stuff has saved me! I have a microderm abrasion thingy that I pretty much had to use every-other day and now I'm down to using it strictly for exfoliation rather than preparation for makeup. And as a bonus, I'm using it on my belly incisions to fade them out as well

years ago my ob/gyn burned mine off......and was making star wars blaster noises while he did it to make me laugh!

I add about 1/4 - 1/3 of the crystal light pre-measured water bottle packets. Looks like play dough, tastes lots better and I can do a variety of flavors or I use it in recipes and/or as a substitute for sour cream.

caffeine withdrawal??
Deakay replied to Forensikchic's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
had it bad, bad....but after my surgery. I drank my 1 cup a day through the pre-op -
And that seems to be the theme for today. I'm seeing my surgeon later today and may have to ask him about it. His nurse has dropped the ball and not sent the paperwork for any labs since my surgery, even though I have called twice to ask if they were planning on doing any follow-up. I mean why go visit the doctor just to get weighed and say "hi". I have huge bruises that just seem to appear from nowhere, I'm sure its a vitamin issue but have no idea which one I may be lacking. And I'm hormonal dammit! And headachy (which apparently isn't even a word). I need some male attention VERY SOON that doesn't involve batteries.......lol Did I mention I'm hormonal? One thing about getting older, my sex drive is insane! and it doesn't help that I live alone. Gawd, I'm getting depressed and bitchy just reading that. Ok, will manifest some positive energy On the upside, I have been going to free outdoor concerts with a girlfriend on Wednesday nights in Bay City......very fun! Sometimes its nice to get out in public and get your freak on! And I'm almost positive a VERY attractive man was hitting on me last night (and that wasn't just the hormones talking). My girlfriend noticed it too! But I'm not sure why he would be so blatant about it while still wearing his wedding ring But at least he wasn't trying to cover it up I suppose......and I guess some women may not care, but I couldn't go there, EVER. And it's a new moon on Saturday, I am soooo ready for the waxing moon to start. Time for growth! May have to make preparations for some ritual-type activity It couldn't hurt and may make me feel better......Happy Lùnastal everyone! It is a time to harvest! Someone needs to mention it to my tomatoes. lol

My dr. told me I could have a cup a day if I wanted.....and I did cuz the caffeine withdrawal headache (migraine) wasn't worth it. But...............after my surgery the liquid pain killer effectively took care of my headache. Never did use the stuff for any pain associated with my surgery. And low and behold, 4 months out and I'm still off the caffeine! I do have about a half cup occasionally, but it just doesn't taste the same Kinda makes me sad.....I really liked my coffee.

we seem to be on the same schedule And maybe your mom had more weight to lose than you did......I'm down 44 pounds at 4 months and happy with it!

From: Step by step guide to the VSG experience! (My FAVORITE VST post of all time!)

it was a lot more intense than my gall bladder surgery.....but I didn't experience a lot of pain. Of course I also slept for almost 3 days after -
scrambled with onion and cheese

Interest on the student loans is much higher than most credit cards and/or private loans......the only difference is they will defer principle payments until after graduation. The student loans my kids have taken out require repayment of interest for the duration of the loan. So if you aren't going to have to make interest payments, then these loans are subsidized. And how do you get subsidized loans without a financial need?

we all have doubts......I still think I am losing slowly, but I am convinced at least what I have lost is really and truly gone forever. And here is a really big secret.......I would lose more if I made more of an effort and actually got off my ass and exercised like I did before my surgery, but I'm NOT mentioning that to my surgeon. lol He is happy with my loss the way its going

This whole not drinking while eating...
Deakay replied to mythreechildren2001's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It was the hardest part and is still a struggle, but I am learning......mostly I don't do it because it hurts. Forget flushing food through, it just hurts. -
So I bought the Celebrate chewables before my surgery and have taken maybe 4 of them.......I just can't chew them and have switched to Flintstones! If anybody wants these, send me an address and I'll ship them out to you, they are the mountain berry flavor and I believe they have iron

Unsupportive mother :(
Deakay replied to VSG4aHealthierMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Stand firm and give her some time to come to terms with it. You know she only wants good things for you but it may take her a while, and then tell her you've done your homework, you are having the surgery, and you need her support. If that doesn't sway her, give her the same argument you just posted here.......tell her to trust you and to support your decision. I'm sure she is scared for you, but would she refuse to watch your children while you go down for the surgery if she doesn't agree with it? -
my son loves these! I also make them with green onion in the middle

I started measuring at about 3 weeks out........probably should have been sooner but I waited for my first stall. lol Anyway, am down over 18" from my various bits, and only a couple of those have been below the waist.......but I'm getting there
-
I had my surgery on a Monday, that Thursday I worked 1/2 day......went back to work full time the following monday. I think I was asleep every night by 8:00 at the latest, but it did get better after the 4th. week when I started mushies. I didn't have pain per se, but the energy level is not what it needed to be for productivity. Thank goodness I have a government desk job

We are similar, but I am shorter I started at 248 lbs and in a size 18, but in reality should have been a 20......but with the knit pants I wear mostly to work there was "flex room". Now I am down to 207 and still wearing ALL of the same clothes. I had a garage sale this weekend and got rid of almost all of my 1X sweaters because they were getting too big. But almost all of my pants fit fine. I've only ditched 1 pair of capris because they were too big. I bet I can go another 20lbs without going down a size in my pants. I will let you know...........but I'm very close to needing all new underwear, it just doesn't stay where its supposed to anymore

I asked my family dr. what he would recommend and he told me to use the "tried and true" corn syrup in water like you do for babies.......I bought miralax instead

March Role Call!!
Deakay replied to VSGandMe2011 (DisneyMomma)'s topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
yeah.....my hair started falling out about 3 weeks ago, not too bad yet but yikes! Am thinking about trying the vitamin someone else was talking about. -
I have and continue to wear thongs.....they are much more comfortable and tend to stay in place better than grannie panties And I'm sure in another couple of weeks I really should buy some smaller sizes
