    Seriously?

In my opinion it is wise to search for the topic you are interested in learning -- first. I just did that today in fact!!! I wanted to know if i was going to waste my money by getting a pedicure. Guess what??? There was a thread on that very topic... on page FIVE. I am a member of two online forums and it is super annoying to have a bazillion threads that are the same fricken question!!!! I also find it annoying when people turn the topic into their own mini -sub conversation and divert from the original topic... such as I am doing now. I am doling out forum etiquette instead of answering how to get past a VSG stall. Which I have no advice to give. The advice I can give, however: ***Marathon not sprint *** patience is a virtue (took me years to get fat so... gonna take a while to make me un-fat) *** don't type angry *** More bee's with honey

Its all good. In the end what do you really want out of this??? You just want to finish the race with"relative" ease/ less difficulty ...right? Do you really have to be one of the first ones across the finish line???? Thanks for the post... it gives me a chance to prepare mentally for possible frustrations such as you are experiencing right now. I have 10 days to gooooooo

    Sleeved on Thursday

I haven't tried it yet... but I got liquid vitamin and calcium from costco. I felt it would be easier to get down plus better absorption. The real kicker was it seemed to have a lot more vitamins in the liquid vs the gummie/chewable ones.

    April Sleevers?

Thanks Katmagmom! Thanks Beadingnurse! Better to have been answered twice than not at all
  15. Its the weight loss that is making you cold. Trust me if you put on a 20 pound coat of fat you would be nice and toasty. In the last few years I have been the hot one amongst all the cold and comfortable people. The last few years i have also been at my heaviest weight. I have recently lost 25 lbs and am starting to notice the cold. Thank god i live in southern california not so sunny recently... Anyhow, I know several people who have had the bypass and they ALL are annoyingly cold. You just have to "climatize" yourself all over again. The feak that wears a sweatshirt in summer while everyone else is in shorts. Heck when i lived in the desert and then went to lake tahoe in late june I was the one wearing the sweatshirt. I also sat in the backseat on the trip cuz the ac was too cold. I looked pretty strange when we filled up at a gas station in the middle of the mojave desert and never took off the sweatshirt.

    I have the flu! Help!

Have you tried an herbal tea to calm the dry heaves? My Mother would always give us kids lemon tea when the dry heaves started. I loved/hated lemon tea I knew it WOULD come back up again ...but it was always the last thing. Also ginger and peppermint are good for calming the stomach.
  17. two weeks and a weekend to go...yikes its getting closer.

  18. thanks for the help... yikes i was talking to my mom today ad i was like ...ahhh! two weeks and a weekend to go :)

  19. Shoot my BCBS took the full three weeks. It was submitted on Feb 23rd too!!!! Sure wish mine had come back in 24 hrs I more than likely would be POST OP instead of still pre -op. Oh well I do have a surgery date. So it is all good. So how did your surgery go???
  20. So did you get your approval for your sleeve from BCBS?

  21. Goofyspice

The Waiting Is the Hardest Part

You can totally ask the surgeon's office of Aetna insurance timeline. My timeframe for BCBS was up to 3 weeks for authorization and then the surgery schedule was roughly 2-3 weeks out. I was notified by my insurance on 3-9-11 exactly 3 weeks after submission. The surgery coordinator called me 3-14-11 (3 business days and the whole weekend i waited...ahhh) My surgery date is set for April 11th... first date that fit's into my sisters schedule. I wanted her there and she well... demanded to be there Otherwise I would have gotten it done april first (cool date) due to a cancellation. In the end 10 days won't make much of a difference (i keep telling myself) So total wait time was/is 6.5 weeks... GEEZ that seems a lifetime when i put that way.

    Do they know???

LOL I totally went around my PCP since I have PPO insurance and it does not require referrals (the bonus of PPO). Anyhow I avoided my PCP simply due to the fact she made a comment regarding her not being a fan of WLS. So I did everything I needed without her. Well come to find out I did need "history" from my PCP. I made an appointment for my yearly physical and while I was there told her of my pending surgery. To my surprise she was supportive (things can change in 2 yrs). I ended up educating her about VSG since she was only familiar with the band and bypass. She also said she never sees her patients after they have had bypass I think you should at least tell your PCP, it is another professional who's business it is... is to see to your good health.

    April Sleevers?

Monday April 11th is my big day Also how do you make friends in this forum? I can't figure out how to negotiate that in this particular forum. I would like to befriend the other April 11 surgery dates. There seems to be a handful of us.

    So frustrated

Oopsseedaisy is correct. Insurance approvals are very specific when it comes to the doctor preforming the surgery. my weightloss program is thru a huge hospital and ya they do go to a review board. Its weird I know and I don't know why specifically could only hazzard a guess. My advice is hound them!!!! And tell them they can still put in for the review board before the classes start!!! My Doctor wanted to wait and see how my newly diagnosed low thyroid would do with meds and after 5 weeks then submit for authorization. I just about flipped my lid especially when she just got done saying a thyroid problem would(n't) be a reason not to do surgery. So she went ahead and submitted the papers. I have had my surgery date scheduled for 4-11-11 since 3-15-11. I just had my follow up appointment today 3-23-11 (one day shy of the "5" weeks ) regarding my thyroid and other low Vitamins... and everything was normal. by bad i didn't communicate that well. dr said thyroid would not keep me from having the surgery. Thats why i was freaking out when it looked like she wanted to wait and see how the meds worked before submitting to the review board and insurance company

Am I wrong to feel this way?

People including family are just ignorant sometimes or self absorbed hard to tell It goes past just WLS. Years ago at a desk job we celebrated everyones birthday. It was nice... you knew your cubicle would be done up somehow, you'd get a group card, a small thoughtful gift or giftcard. AND you would get a "birthday" cake. Well we all decided since it was OUR birthday we should be able to dictate just what kind of "b-day cake" we wanted. We had quite the variety: rootbeer floats, cheesecake and mine was brownies. For my birthday my boss brought it a lime Jello mold cake!!! . It gets better... Someone did bring in some brownies and guess who ate 1/4 of them??? Yep the boss after her chow down there wasn't enough for everyone... one person was going to miss out...ONE!!! ME!!! To add insult to injury she didn't even touch the lime jello cake she was so proud of. I was pissed. I hate Jello. I say the only thing jello is good for is jello shooters LOL!!! Cant have those for a while So hopefully your Sis in law will get a clue soon!!! Also whats up with not at least getting you a red velvet cake yogurt. They have them you know and they are quite tasty.
