  1. Love reading about your success. Keep us motivated! Congrats on rocking your sleeve!
  2. Brave girl to post in honesty. Yes! My caloric intake is below yours on most days because we all are different, higher calories for me would mean weight gain. As you said, we all need to find where we are comfortable Congrats, you look amazing!
  3. Thank you for sharing your love story. Congrats on a beautiful wedding, gorgeous man inside and out, and rocking your sleeve. Hugs I love my sleeve and have no regrets

    Slow Looser

Wait, you can't compare yourself to others. When have you ever lost 40+ pounds FOREVER in a few months? Even starving at WW did I not hit this goal. Give yourself some credit and applause. At this rate, in under a year you will be at goal. That, my friend, is a miracle thanks to our sleeve. Hugs - and congrats on what you have lost.

Pretty before...gorgeous now. Amazing. Way to rock your sleeve!
  7. Remember, you don't have do defend your position or choice. People like your uncle are only trying to get a rise out of you. Know you are have VSG to become a new you, a healthy you, a skinny you, an exercising fool you and a smile ear to ear you. Hugs - and don't let the haters take you down. I love my sleeve and have no regrets.
  8. Look to join a group in your area because it is proven that those who have a support group after surgery lose more weight. Read all you can, most people here have good intentions and only want to help you through your journey. So take what you read with the idea that a lot on here is people's opinion. Success stories are a great place to go. Research on the internet outside of VST. Pay close attention to how people eat just after surgery and ask a lot of questions of your surgeon and NUT. Different doctor's perform VSG differently. Best wishes and congrats on your upcoming surgery date.

    Finally In Maintenance

Beautiful before, stunning afterwards photo. Thank you for reminding everyone that the hunger can come back. I get hungry now too, much to my dismay. Making bad choices can cause back weight gain. Hugs - and keep rocking your sleeve.

    Putting Off Surgery

ISV - nice to hear you are taking this slowly and know you will follow through later on. Think of how much you will know when your time comes around. Think of it like planning for a wedding. One month's notice is never enough but 9 months, how beautiful.
  11. Do you have a VSG diet plan? If not, call you surgeon and get yours. Plus agree, you should discuss your pain. Diet plan should outline what to eat/drink during each phase. If none, then google vsg diet plans so you know what to expect. Hope you feel better soon.
  12. Want to encourage you to hang in there, please. Today is not what your life will be like in 6 months, promise. Right now you are on a journey and now you are in the healing phase. Do everything you can to get in your Protein, take your supplements, drink enough Water and rest. Tomorrow is a new day. Won't promise things will change quickly but looking back you will agree that every day of struggle was worth it. Really. Hugs for you. I love my sleeve and have no regrets.
  13. Tick tock, tick tock Time for you to rock Okay, so prose is not my strong point. You are strong and can make the most of this sleeve. A new lease on life is just starting for you. Hugs and prayers for you.

    14/16

Don't need them, but wanted to say you look incredible!
  16. Only you can make this choice. The what if's are a killer. Personally, i wrote down why I needed to do this and read that list often. Daily or hourly sometimes. Confident you will make the right decision for your future. Hugs for you.

    Gastric Sleeve 10/24

Love the pic and enjoyed reading your posts. Know you will rock your new sleeve! I love my sleeve and have no regrets.
  18. Hate to state the obvious, but are you tracking your intake? I didn't see you mention this at all. Have your tried something like myfitnesspal to track what you are eating/drinking vs. exercise. This should help eliminate or reduce your .... insert excuses. Stick with your VSG diet plan, take your supplements, drink enough Water (do not drink your calories) and at least 60+ grams of Protein. Exercise is important for that flabby skin look and will help you feel better about yourself. Reflect and remember why you went to all the trouble of VSG each and every day. Maybe write down why you did this and post it on your refrigeration, bathroom mirror and car dashboard. Then do your best that one day to rock your sleeve. Hugs - know you can turn this around.
  19. I was a "low BMI" too. Was vigilant about taking supplements, low carb, 60+ gram of Protein and did a little bit of exercise to take off the weight. Recommend more exercise than I did, but I know you can do this much better than me. Remember each of us loses weight differently. What to expect? Expect to be amazed....I love my sleeve and have no regrets!
  20. Great information...thanks for sharing.
  21. Can I suggest each one of your write down top 10 reasons of why you are getting surgery? This will help you with your resolve and fears. I read my list over and over before surgery along with several times why I was losing weight to hit goal. Wishing each of you the best of luck! Looking forward to reading your updates.
  22. Double check with your surgeon, but you should be able to have the unjury Protein. Good luck to you both on your upcoming Start to VSG journey!
  23. Hi OD; Just because Aceves practices is Mexico does not make him somehow sub-par. Nowhere in this thread have I said or implied Aceves is sub par due to practicing medicine in Mexico. Next, I live in Southern California where a large portion (LA county is just about 50% Hispanic) of the population is of Mexician heritage, so without you knowing me or my nationality, you somehow imply I am racist and rallying against Aceves due to his nationality. Never. Nothing negative is said about Aceves. I only beg for substantiated facts. Also I do state I am comfortable with the fact he should be a decent surgeon since so many use him. But so incredibily tired of posts about Aceves that can not be backed up with outside resources. That is all I have asked of those of you advertising for your surgeon. Happy many have had great experiences with Aceves. Just don't lead others to believe statements of his grandeur which can not be verified. OD, your previous post above is null since you can't verify any of your statements about Aceves. To newbies considering surgery: This is your one body, don't believe those whom seem to be promoting their surgeon without citing links to their "facts." OD, as a nurse, you should be able to provide cited medical studies, mfg links (such as J&J as Suzanne claims is featuring Aceves) or medical journal articles supporting your previous post rather than providing blind information once again. I was able to site multiple outside sources to prove my surgeons INCREDIBLE bariatric pioneer status, in many different forms, where as you & Suzanne or others have posted....let me count...zero links Start off your post with...In my opinion or Aceves says he ...... Next, I went to IFSO website to verify & you're are wrong, Aceves is not the current secretary, so I think you are mixing up your tenses...he might have been secretary, yet this can not be verified on IFSO website either. Once again we are left without any facts. Next, if you had said Aceves was a member of ASMBS that would be great but Aceves name does not show with a simple search of the American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgeons. You mentioning Aceves is a a member of the FACS. Did you look to see the purpose of this group? Obviously not because looking at this group is only a general surgical association for many different type of surgeons (no emphasis on bariatric surgery) and joining this group does not enhance Aceves bariatric reputation. IMO those of you posting / promoting your surgeon "credentials" without providing independent back up or outside sources to these claims of "enhanced status" is nothing more than a wolf preying on sheep. Best wishes to each VST member in their own journey of WL. Together we are stronger, even if we don't agree on what constitutes fact vs. opinion. As RR once said, Trust, but verify.
  24. Big hugs for a new you tomorrow. Be sure to keep us updated on your progress.
