cannot gulp down drink in the summer?

While I am not aware how far you are from surgery, you may eventually be able to gulp again. I know post op I was unable to gulp at all, sipping was a chore really. From what I remember at about a year out, I could take a few gulps. Now, I can drink an entire small bottle of Water in one long drink. So, if you can't gulp you need to be very aware when you are working out. Sip often and frequently. This should not be an excuse not to exercise. Really it just makes you more aware of your body and its needs. Hang in there. Just like your capacity of how much you eat, what you can eat changes, so does the amount of water you can consume at one time. No regrets, I love my sleeve.

    Bad breath

Yep, ketosis. Celebrate. But, sip water often and get a tongue brush.

    Help!

Hate to say this...but suck it up. Agree the pre op diet is torture and inhumane but it does benefit you in the long run by shrinking a fatty liver. Less likely hood that a surgeon might nick your stomach when performing VSG. Now, what I did was at the end of the day I "rewarded" myself with 1 oz only of turkey jerkey to chew on at night. Confident you can do this. Hang in there, you surgery is just around the corner. Remember your goal.

    Just Got Approved

You must be thrilled. Doing a happy dance for you!
  7. Eat to survive, not for what your head wants. Give your body what is really needs. Protein. You can do this! The more you change your thinking and chant, "eat to sustain" rather than "oh, that sounds good" you will improve your choices and increase your well being. Hugs, you can do this!!!
  8. Awesome NSV! So cute. Don't agonize over when the right time to tell him might be. This will come naturally. Honey, he is going to notice that you are losing weight. Eventually he might even see your scars. Two plus two = WLS If he is the man you think he is, he will only be happy that you took charge of your own health. Thanks for making me smile tonight!
  9. No, I haven't been in your shoes. But I know you already aware of how to lose the weight. Never give up, you can do this. Have you thought of the 5 day pouch test? Don't think you need to lose this in a month. Most post pregnancy women take a few months to lose, so don't be discouraged. You have the sleeve to help you out with quantity. Congratulations on your precious newborn!

    Onderland! Wonderful!

Take each day as a success and don't consider your self a long way off. You are so much closer than you were to goal. Congratulations!
  11. Wishing you both a speedy recovery. Remember to sip often and walk as able. ...and an early welcome to the losers bench.
  12. Two things: Maybe consult a different bariatric surgeon. If two dilatations did not work then maybe something else is on the horizon. What does your surgeon say? Or is could be physiological. I was unable to eat for 5 weeks because I was afraid of regaining weight. Anything I put down came right back up too. So, have you tried applesauce? One teaspoon, that is all. Let it sit for a hour before you put in one more. If this works then try a tablespoon later. If you are good with that next day try a teaspoon of cottage cheese. Move up to a tablespoon. If you can do this, next blend the (*&^ out of some Protein packed Soup. Once you are okay with keeping down, leave a few very small chunks. Slow and easy. Good luck, I hope you find resolution soon.

    Vsg With Bmi Under 35

33 BMI prior to VSG surgery and I too had no comorbidities. But, did I want to wait for my health to start to fail which was sure to happen? My knees already were sore and exercise did not come easily. So, I was in a downward spiral and decided to stop and reset. So with a "measly" 60 lbs why should you do this? Can you do it on your own without surgical intervention? If yes, do it. But I suspect you are like most of us who can't do this without help. I needed VSG to have victory over my weight. Where will I be in five years? I hope just as I am today. VSG is only new in the fact as it being used for WLS. Taking out part of the stomach has been done for years without serious long term effects. As long as you can take your supplements for life and eat healthy, you should be good to go. I love my sleeve and have no regrets.

    Before And After Pic

Thank you for sharing such a wonderful success story with your pics. Makes me do the happy dance. YESSSS.
  18. Have you taken him to a surgery appointment? I did not involve my DH until I was 100% confident that this was for me. I think involving your DH will make him feel important part of this change. You need to get to his real fears. Sounds like he is afraid that you are not only going to be younger but hotter when skinny and see him differently. Old and overweight. We all have insecurities. Find out what his are regarding surgery and assure him that you & he will be the same....only better!! Congrats on your upcoming date. Hugs.
  19. Thank you Glittering Gold Paradox. I knew starting this would bring out the haters. Oregon Daisy...I adore you and followed you prior to my own surgery. Not hating on Dr Aceves. I only ask for outrageous "facts" suggest by a poster here are unsubstantiated and know that they can not be documented beyond Aceves own website. Onceagain....Dr. Quiqlie. HA HA HA HA. You mock because you can't substantiate reality. This whole deal is about Suzanne making up claims on Aceves which can not be proven nor found outside of his website. Wish you would actually read my complaint and not jump on the haters bandwagon without finding out what I seek...facts. I had VSG as outpatient surgery and Hoag, FV Regional & OCMed does not offer this service for VSG. Unlike Aceves I did not require a drain, pain pump, staples, cathedar, nurses waking me up all night after surgery and I was thrilled. You are another uneducated patient and did not read my posts. Read my posts and then come back with FACTS on Aceves. I can list numerous outside sources legitimizing my surgeons outstanding success unlike previous poster whom I questioned. So, rather than attacking me, get the facts. Just provide links and I will go away on this. This not about my surgeon vs. your surgeon, both are well qualified or we would not have chosen them. I SEEK TRUTH, not lies thrown around in the name of false advertisement. Once again...I find it disgusting that you feel it is OK to advertise for a surgeon as it is common practice...sick. Especially when several statements are FALSE. Do you really agree with lying to gain patients? Aceves is good enough and does not need all the lies on this site to get his patients. Shame on you. Enough said.
  20. HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!! Setting a goal and then making it happen does not occur by accident. You are amazing. Lisa...we all lose at different rates. You are not a slow loser. Remember, you have lost 75+ pounds forever. Give yourself a hand for all you have done. You will continue to lose, so don't give up or consider yourself flawed. Celebrating both of your incredible success stories. Looking forward to watching you succeed. I love my sleeve and have no regrets.

    Excersise

You can go for a walk, but they don't want you to pull anything. Be careful to follow surgeons advice. SOON you will be able to hit the gym. Soon. I admire your determination to do all you can to lose the weight!
  22. Welcome out from the shadows...congrats on your upcoming surgery date! Listen...with so many failures before (isn't that why we all are here?) it is natural to think YOU are the problem. VSG is a tool to help you lose the weight. Yes, you can lose the weight if you follow the diet plan and adjust as needed for your body. Fears are normal. Read up as much as you can, I like the success section of this site, picking up tips from others on how they lost the weight. Just remember not to compare yourself and notice that everyone loses differently. Really excited for you both! Congratulations on a big step to a new you. No regrets, I love my sleeve.
  23. Good luck. Make sure you take good notes when you do follow up. Names & phone #'s so you can see where you are in the process.

    How Much Can You Eat?

Everyone is different. At 2 1/2 months I was eating small amounts like you. But I supplemented with Protein shakes to ensure I was getting in my protein. Are you tracking your nutrients? I don't think I was eating "normal" until almost 7 months. It was like a light bulb as if I never had surgery, where I didn't watch every single bite nor monitor my nutrients like a hawk. Now, I probably eat a little over a cup. I still feel restriction but I can cheat...don't try this. Stay the course and keep on track. The weight will come off and you will learn your own limits, as this is a journey. Hugs.
  25. Surgeons actually have different procedures on how they suture the stomach during VSG. Others are overly cautious (mine is super cautious) and want the stomach to heal before introducing foods to digest. Others use different size bougie. So yes, many pre/post op diets are different. I would follow your own surgeon's plan, but address your concerns before you go into surgery. Write down all those questions. Also, my body didn't want solids for a while, even after surgeon said okay. Might have been a mind game with myself, but I didn't want to chew for almost 4 weeks. Congrats on your upcoming date! I love my sleeve and have no regrets.
