What's weird with me is at my TRUE GOAL (150) my face "falls in on itself" That's my way of putting it. My neck looks better but one side of my face developes this true saggy fold. When I'm up about 5-10 pounds my face looks better but I don't feel good at that weight and my neck looks worse! Lol. And at close to 60, I would dearly love to have a Lifeslyle Lift and may later. I can deal with the small apron and somewhat handy arms but my face/ neck really bugs me. You, younguns. Be SOO happy you found this early on in life!, your skin has the elasticity that will really aid you and after months of weight loss really does rebound I've been told.

I was told brisk walking is one of the best overall exercises. Especially, for oldies like me. (59 1/2 . And yes, I count it. MFP says its exercise and we KNOW it can't be wrong!

You know, at 3 years out I threw up a week ago after eating dense chicken breast and grilled asparagus. I think the asparagus set me up for the "issue". And again, I eat too fast!

a maintenance victory - do I have a chance at doing this for the long haul?
Georgia replied to CowgirlJane's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Maintenance, to me, is by far much harder work than losing ever was. At 3 years out, I had to learn the hard way that junk food is and does go down just as easily as it did pre-sleeve and I can gain weight easily. So back within eyeball of goal line. Sitting at 158 and actively pursuing 150 which is where I want to stay THIS TIME. Didn't hold that number long enough for my body to accept that set point. Thankfully, I realized what I had to do and am pursuing maintenance this time. Glad I have a group of people who face the same issues to discuss things with. -

I'm thinking I wish I had the strength to weigh once a week because I know by now what to expect but when I see the "bounce" it tends to depressed me of I allow it. I usually don't BUT it does keepu mind on WHAT is going in my mouth! Two pounds up after three feast days but by the end of week I will be back down and hopefully, down another 1-2 also. That's how it works for me. I count my "loss" on Friday morning each week.

My take is... We are losing well. Not having very much difficulty. And managing within a healthy calorie field on feast days. As WLS it would have to be different for us anyhoo. I was interested in the BBC video that it said he needed to have a LOWER Protein diet. That kinda flies in the face of sleeve diet structure. I really not getting in as much protein as I need to most days probably but all my blood work was good and I feel good so I'm just not worrying about it at the moment. More focused on healthy choices within caloric boundaries and 5:2 eating plan. I think as long as I take my Vitamins, eat good protein choices like chicken, turkey and some very lean beef I am okay.

Feed, I read the whole article and it seems to me to reach one conclusion and then say well, it May Be worse or it May increase desire for sugar but really we don't know yet. I have read other studies that say Art sweeteners tend to increase sugar desire and can reduce weight loss. Also, that aspartame, the leading sweetener in things now can increase Alzheimer's risk and yet I continue to use it. I honestly cannot imagine drinking plain Water. It makes me nauseous. Flat out. And adding lemon doesn't do it for me. I guess I could try to train myself AGAIN to do without. Sniff sniff. What about truvia/stevia? Isn't it made from real sugar so would be better ? -

I am at 1200 now on Feast days. MFP dropped me from 1300 to 1200 a few weeks into 5:2 after losing some pounds. I had set it up to reach goal of 150. I know this. If I eat anywhere above 1300 I gain weight!!! I era rely ever even get to the 1200 and if I don't exercise and watch WHAT I eat on the feast days I will gain. I am eating very clean these days. No fast food, no junk food and healthy Snacks like fruit, SF Popsicles, or the occasional Fiver One 90 calorie bar.

What I fou d I there's ting is that if had seen Mosley I would have felt he was normal weight and was healthy. Sigh. Makes me feel kinda fat. Lol. And VERY interesting that duri g the Great Depression life expectancy increased by six years! Amazing. Really like that we have found something beneficial in more ways than one. Weight loss as well as improving LDL and triglycerides and blood glucose -
I'm finding myself eating more snack food this weekend. Healthy snack food but none the less snacks. Total cals always under goal but.... Hope I'm not gaining. ???? Also, walking today so that helps
