Sounds similar to mine! Love my surgeon - highly respected - but it's a 5 minute "you are doing great, see you in a year!" He does do blookwork but not much support at all. Glad for VST community!

I have been there. It's not complacency so much as mindset to me. You DID reach size 14 and feel good about it. So our poor "fatty" brains feel good about it and now "Let's celebrate!" Too much work to keep on. I wouldn't "linger" there because you will lose motivation and regain some loss. If you've picked up junk foods, quit cold turkey! Go back to basics for 5 days or so strictly. Cravings will end and you will be encouraged because you will feel the REAL sleeve restriction again and have a sense of accomplishment. Go, Girl! You got this!!!!

Oh, yes! There is something about getting down below that 200 # that feels like "we have arrived" for a while! I actually was losing so quickly that I went right on by it but when I got to REAL GOAL, I immediately went into this mindset that says, "I DID IT! NOW LET'S EAT AND CELEBRATE!" lol Needless to say, I kept at goal for several months and then gradually sugar addiction crept back up and I gained about 20 lbs over the 2nd year, FINALLY, stopped myself and with encouragement from other sleevers and mentally "taking myself in hand", I found something to work for me and have lost the weight and back on maintenance/losing track! As all have said, COLD TURKEY! Moderation does NOT work and especially since you are not at goal. Too hard to relose the weight once it comes back! You can do it!!!!!

If I were younger, I would probably really pursue body plastics but at my age (59) I'm really more interested in face/neck. Has anybody gotten pricing on something like the Lifestyle Lift or similar. Not really interested in full facelift stuff. I'm too scared of the outcome! LOL

Yep, I'm sweating next week - Leaving for vacay early Monday morning and be "out of my element" all week until the following Monday. Since we are going to the mountains, I'm hoping A LOT OF HIKING will help keep me on track but I intend to have a good time - come what may!

Your start date and start weight for the 5:2 method
Georgia replied to No game's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I SOO know what you mean, FYE, Laura and M2G. One of my biggest thrills is when I could honestly tell my husband that I weighed less than him! LOL He is a 5'10" skinny person so He loses like EVERY WEEK! Without trying. He also never thought of me as "fat" and always made me feel pretty. Finally convinced him of surgery need when my Mom passed away. I think just being able now to say my weight outloud is amazing. (Not that I do it often!) LOL -

This is so funny to me - in a strange way! I was in NOLA this past weekend for the BD of my 3 year old Granddaughter. She stayed in my hotel all three nights and slept between me and my 10 year old Grand. All night she rubbed her hand up and down my arms and squeezed them! I would laugh at her and she would just grin!!! I know she liked the "squishy", Supersweetums!!! LOL

Well I'll take the sick since I ended my fast last night At 400 cal went to sleep at 7 PM. Weighed this morning back down to low. Hopefully I'll see a new low This week.

I have a "crusier" bike copy! Old style bike but new. Love to ride it. Only problem is that I live up on the side of a small mountain and have to transport down the hill and good area to ride unless I go somewhere else! It manages to deter me frequently from riding as much as I would like.

Lisa's Hope, you might research 5:2 eating. Google it and read up on it. Seems to be working for me right now.

husband, family, sig others...and the 5:2 lifestyle
Georgia replied to feedyoureye's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh, I thought ALL husbands had to "think it up" themselves! LOL Mine too, FYE! My dear Hubs has NEVER had to lose weight. when I married him he weighed 125 lbs!!!!! But for the last few years has had to watch sugar because he found out he is Type 2 Diabetic which is truly weird because nobody in his family is and he is not overweight! Anyway, trying to get it through his head that CARBS turn into SUGAR is laughable. He tends to eat lightly in the morning and mid day and then sit down at night and eat, snack, shack, shack, and then snack! HA! My kids are grown and nobody at home but me and him now but I have two Grands every weekend and sometimes during the week. They are all used to me eating differently just as Laura said. I do tend to most of the time eat a variation of what I fix for them and the good thing is my husband would rather eat salad, stirfry and stuff like that than anything else!! -
What are your favorite low calorie snacks
Georgia replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Mine is def Mini Babybel Light Cheese. As well as 90 calorie FiberOne PB Bar. Also, love (if we are going that high 100) 100 cal guacamole pouches, either Wholly brand or my fav is Marketside (Walmart) w/thin sliced cukes and red pepper slices. -

Is anyone doing the ADF version of 5:2?
Georgia replied to Globetrotter's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I did research it and bought the book prior to starting 5:2 but figured out that I didn't like that my "days" would change all the time. I have thought about doing it simply because I think mentally I would like not such a long gap between my last fast day of the week. I might try it and see what I think since I have kinda stalled at this body setpoint for the last two weeks. Research does show that it isn't really any more beneficial, though, as FYE said earlier. -
Half. Day. Done. 150 calories in. Feels kinda good to get back to this after a long four days of "freestyle" eating.

I think we all struggle with some of the same things you mentioned, BTB. We somehow make ourselves believe that once we "hit" the mark that magically, we are going to stay there without work when in reality, nobody really can do that. Normal, non-sleevers, have to work to maintain or else all these gajillion gyms and diet centers wouldn't be around! The hardest for me is knowing that I can MAYBE have a few special things at special times like BDs, parties, but I'm going to have to REALLY work to get back in line. Truly, one weekend of snacking/junk food can add back 3+ pounds quickly. Maybe it's that as "foodies" we still have that mentality and think we "deserve" to eat again?? I know in my past life (before VSG) once I hit a goal on a "diet" I would tend to then immediately let up and slowly or quickly depending on my mindset regain what was lost! Like your signature says, "You don't have your patience removed during surgery."
