Oh, I guarantee that if you eat and follow all the guidelines you will fill the restriction still very strongly. I do. The difference is we are "grazing" around it. ???? Probably also, Chelenka, coming off the holidays you have managed to start a carb/sugar addiction as I have! I don't get really fatigued but that sounds like how I feel once I try to cut carbs/sugar out for the first few days. Make sure you are eating enough protein and include maybe a high protein/low carb shake like EAS carb control only a 110 cals but 17 grams protein. A few almonds or an egg/cheese so that you are not "empty" feeling and depleted. Might not be for you but I'd give it a few more days of committed fasts first. It does work for most.

I strongly agree, Denise! LOL

Are you kidding? One tire goes bad and you have to have a new SET??

That's Exactly it! All my regain (well, most) is Now I have a "hangover" in the middle that I Did not have! Now, it worries me that with my age I'm going to really have this hangy skin by losing and regaining etc. Even if it is only 10-12 pounds! What a huge difference!

Well, it's Friday. Managed to end up about 630 cals yesterday. I soooo wanted to eat nuts until I ate the whole can but stopped with a small hand full of almonds and few peanuts and that's why my cals were over but I'm claiming victory since I did Stop myself. ????. Finally the fourth pound I can count as solid loss and another 1/2, but dear lord, that's 4 1/2 pounds in four weeks! Certainly not the best but I'll take it and keep going. I lost really well last round but I was also much more actively pursuing too. Leaving to go fast walk with a friend so that will help today. Got to be more active! Happy wknd, Gang!

I'm trying to visualize what really made the difference and how we psyched ourselves up last time. Think it was because it was all "new and shiny?" ????. Whatever. I'm GOING to get these pounds back down. I want to be back at goal by spring/early summer. Sigh.

Yuck! that you could feel ANY kinda makes me nauseous. ???? Well, one fast day done (Tuesday) and I did much better. Ended up about 590 and got 6 miles in on my recumbent bike and 5000 steps so was able to hang on and not over snack! Was rewarded this morning with a break below the pounds I've been gaining and losing so I'm hoping end of the week I'll have a solid extra loss of 1-2 pounds which would put me at about 5 lost over last four weeks or so (can't remember exactly but know it was after New Years). My key is going to be getting more movement/exercise in and eating more cleanly on off days. Plus I started taking my Omeprazole (Prilosec generic) today and going to for a while to see if it makes a difference with seeming to be hungry constantly or feeling the need to Graze! Anyway, hope all are faring well. Happy Hump Day!!

I love my Fitbits. Just to keep me moving (61 years old, not too active so everything helps! lol) I wore a Fitbit One for a year then I got a new Fitbit Charge. Boy, did I really like and thought, "Man, I am really stepping!!!" Then one day it was so inflated I knew something was WAAAAAYYY off! I wear on what I THOUGHT was my non-dominant wrist. I'm a leftie, but do everything else right handed so I switched the setting and amazingly enough, I was not "stepping" nearly as much as I thought! Ha! Now, with adjustments I really like the Charge because it tracks sleep, etc and has Caller ID.

Lordy! I had to delete about 100 episodes of crap last night from my DVR because it was 92% full! LOL I love all things TV - well, mostly. Anything to do with DIY, HGTV, ALASKA, (buying, building, living I'm obsessed with!) FAV SHOWS - The Good Wife, Suits (yes, Alex, I have to catch up so I can watch the new season), Stalker, State of Affairs (love!), Madam Secretary, Major Crimes (still miss Closer), Any and all crime shows ( real or fake) and Dateline, 2020, 48 hours. Oh, all the Say Yes to the Dress, I found the Gown, etc. I'm sure I left out some since I am all over the place on my likes.

How do we convince MFP we're not anorexic?
Georgia replied to MisforMimi's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Did you go to "goals" and reduce the amount of calories per day? I get a kick out of the "you should weigh …… in 4 weeks…." cause I know that's NOT going to happen!! Ha! But it makes me happy some times. Hee Hee. -

I saw part of the Today Show interview this morning with Hoda. Very interesting. -
MichiganChic, well, now I know. Doesn't sound too fun, I agree! Hopefully, this will be easily dealt with and you will be up and at 'em quickly. Best to you!

Coops, sorry you are feeling low - I know that feeling. I believe we actually start to "grieve" when our parents begin to deteriorate. I felt that sense of "loss" somewhat for a long while before I lost my Mom. I'm hoping you get her into the Physician's office soon. And your point about our bodies needing good nutrition and hunger makes sense to me too!

We’re excited to announce a brand new version of our free iOS & Android app!
Georgia replied to JustWatchMe's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
Just guessing since I have a "log in" - have you tried your facebook log in or is there a place ON the android app that says log in through FB? Update- okay I just logged off my app version (apple) and tried to log back on. There is not an option to login using FB on the mobile appl that I see. ????. If you haven't registered I would do so. More available and you can log in from site or mobile Appl -
You know, Sheryl, the more I think about it the more I am realizing that I MIGHT be wanting to "snack" graze all the time is because I feel HUNGRY all the time which I have interpreted from a sorta "burning" stomach feeling. I should have probably realized sooner that this might be acid since I'm four 1/2 years out! Ha! But I've NEVER had reflux or gastric acid issues before and totally am ignorant of symptoms but it makes sense now. Gonna try the old Omeprazole the Dr. gave me (PCP) who told me was a believer that everybody should take a low dose of something everyday as we age. Especially if we take any meds (which I don't now). I'm going to try it - cant hurt. I simply couldn't/cant understand why I felt hungry ALL THE TIME now! I truly want to lose this regain and learn to LIVE at 145-150. I feel so much better physically and emotionally. I'm like you - others think I "look fabulous" and cant tell any gain etc but I know how I feel and I like my size 8s which I can't fit into most of now. Florinda! Amazon! Sounds like it would be an awesome job/company. I, for one, am a true Amazon fanatic. Now, that's on the retail side! Ha! Like Kim said, maybe you need to explore opportunities that would allow you to "invest" yourself in something truly worthwhile and help get your mind in a better place while earning a living at this great opportunity in Seattle. Just a thought. Just to want to see you happier mentally and I believe, the physical will follow. Hugs to you! How's everybody else doing this week? Denise? Sarah (where art thou?) Cathy, Coops, Dee, Sheila, Dorrie, Lynda (where are you too?), Brown, Chimera? Check in time! I need a much better week since yesterday was an absolute disaster calorie-wise! Today is fast day #1.

here's what I found, Kim. Don't know her.

Sheryl, 14 pounds in same time frame?? Is this a "new" thing for her - dieting per se? Again, I just truly feel our metabolisms are truly altered. I know for me also, I'm not seeing the results I did first time around on 5:2 BUT I'm also not being very successful at eating as cleanly on NON-fast days either! I just cant seem to not want to snack all day! GRAZING! Glad to have you, Adargie! A bunch of us used 5:2 a year or so ago to lose/relose pounds as sleevers when we reached stalls or regains. As a whole, we found that around 500 calories a day worked best (sometimes up to 600) using a lower carb approach, lots of low carb veggies like my "go to" is chicken stirfry. I use the Birdseye Oriental frozen veggies (50 cals for a cup) and Tyson already cooked diced chicken (I believe 100 calories for 3 ounces) I cant even eat all of that on a fast day. That would be my dinner (at around 6-7pm) I try to wait until around 11 or so to EAT anything. This morning (my first fast day of week, I had a Butterball Turkey snack stick at about 10 (hungry!!) 20 calories and am "sipping" making it stretch a EAS Protein Shake with kcup of Caramel Drizzle coffee added and iced! (Feedmyeye gave me this option) 110 calories. I will sometimes eat thin sliced Oscar Mayer Turkey rolled up with 2% slice of cheese (3 pieces each of turkey to 1/2 slice of cheese for two roll ups) That's a total of 100 calories for a good healthy lunch or dinner option. I recommend you go to the 5:2 thread that gives all the "how tos" also. I will also sometimes have a boiled egg or apple if I get really hungry mid day (50 calories apple, 70 egg) Homemade veggie soup is a great option also. Hope that helps some. Good luck. Kim, I'm with you! I can do great during the week on fast days and have lost 3-4 pounds in the last 3 weeks but invariably, I will "lose it" on one of the wknd off days. Yesterday was a true disaster! LOL I laid on the couch all day and kept stuffing myself with snacks. Healthy, good ones but snacks and the calories were out the roof! HA! I know, as before, the only way this is going to work is to eat much more cleanly non-fast days! I'm not giving up either! I want this 12 pounds gone!!
-
Well, MichiganChic, at least you are having lower cal days. I'm going to try really hard to rein in the wknd food fest this wknd! ???? Strange fruit, that's ALSOME! As my hubs says. ????
-
I add broccoli to mine also. WW soup

Yeah, Sheryl, I'm in the same boat. I'm losing the same 3/4 pounds over and over and I know it's because I won't get with the exercise. ????. Just simply can't get my mojo on. Ha!! But I feel a lot better about my eating. And boy, the calories add up quickly. ???? Denise, infectious disease is def where you need to be. Sounds like a plan. I'm so sorry you are dealing with all this. I got kinda tickled when you said you were glad others were struggling and you weren't alone. Isn't that the truth? Lol. Misery loves company. At least we are all TRYING now. I'm praying this latest round of antibiotics does the trick!
