Did Anyone Have To Gain Weight To Qualify?
Georgia replied to losingthefatt's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Somehow I find myself laughing out loud at this thread! Actually, I was riding along in my car today and remembering when my niece said (before WLS) "you'll never get approved!" And I said, "Oh, I could gain a few pounds if necessary!" LOL Well, by the time I made up my mind to pursue I met the 35 BMI and had several co-morbidities. 3 1/2 years later. 110 pounds lighter, wearing size 4/6 ( I'm 5'8"). And completely happy with my sleeve and the decision. NO meds or co morbidities today! Good luck to all of you! It's life changing! -
Sheila, I copied and pasted the list into my "notes" on my phone!!! LOL. THANKS! I have a 5 min fudge recipe that uses a box of powdered sugar instead of marshmallows, stick of butter and vanilla, I believe is all it takes. I'll look it up. Now, I REALLY want fudge! Look at this for lower carb no bake chocolate cookies. http://m.youtube.com/watch?list=UUa-ny9DY016_5002mojVYRg&feature=share&v=MK7a__UVtBU&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DMK7a__UVtBU%26feature%3Dshare%26list%3DUUa-ny9DY016_5002mojVYRg

Search for "The 5:2 Diet" thread. It has some links and info. Also, here is link to original website and the man who came up with. http://thefastdiet.co.uk Go to that thread on BP and we can "hook up" with advice, etc! I KNOW what it's like to regain. -
Oh, yes, CGJ! Hit new low today of 140! Lost all my regain plus additional ten pounds since June! I highly recommend!!!!!

Okay, in in a very happy place this morning. New low this morning and I do believe I am THERE! Well, I'd like to be one more pound down for vanity to be in the 130s! LOL. So thankful for 5:2 lifestyle and the control it has brought to my eating habits. I know all of us have different struggles right now and many of you have made or gotten back to goal while others are still in the journey. I will turn 60 (dear lord, just saying that makes me shudder!) in about 3 weeks and am trying very hard to be as healthy as possible since I am older now and don't have the luxury of TIME! I know at times I don't feel that I offer much to this group but love being included and really love all of you and your, um, exploits! Merry Christmas!

Yes and I would alternate with cold. I use heating pad and then a bag of frozen peas/veggies makes a great ice pack. Hope you feel better

I, too, am 3 1/2 years out. Lost 100 pounds in first 8 mos. and didn't develop a really good maintenance plan so over the next year and half gained about 27 pounds eating too many sliders and not being consistent. I finally, through 5:2 lifestyle, found a permanent maintenance plan that works for me and dropped the weight and an additional 9 lbs so far. One-2 lbs to go to final bounce ill be happy with. Feel great and sleeve is still very restrictive IF used correctly and your follow your program. Just go into it with the mindset that this is a Tool and not a magic bullet. It is work and will take determination. I have never been more pleased than when I get dressed in the morning and it's a size 4/6 and not 20/22! PLUS, no meds, no cpap, BMI of 22! -
That doesn't even seem remotely possible that those two are the same person!! Wowzers! You have really done well! Congrats. Congrats. Congrats!!!

I haven't "met" you but let me say, you are gorgeous! How far out are you?

One thing to consider is WHEN you are going to concentrate your calories. For example, they encourage eating all of your calories in an 8 hour or less period and have longer "fast" time for better results. For example, many of us eat earlier the night before a fast day and then delay until around noon or so to start consuming anything which gives a window of approximately 16-18 hours. When I first started 5:2, I did eat earlier but since have altered it and usually don't have anything til around noon such as babybel cheese or EAS 100 cal Protein shake and concentrate the bulk for dinner and a snack finishing early around 7 or so. Like today, I had babybel cheese around 11:30 or so. Had another one at 5pm and then Lean cuisine 270 calories so I am around 370 right now and will have a snack and Done! I do drink all day long, crystal light and Water. And yes, there is about 5 -10 calories per glass you should count but I don't now. . I'm one pound from where I want to ultimately "bounce" from. 140. I will also say, you will need to be sure you really continue to eat clean on non fast days even though higher cal. My TOP calorie days are still only between 1200-1300. That's what I can eat and not gain. Good luck! You should do well if you make up your mind that it can be a lifestyle and truly becomes that!!!

And you know what, I think your "skinnys" could be another size down and skinnier! You look amazing!!! Look at those neckbones! ( I am in love with them!).

A Whole Year Of Changes - Surgiversary!
Georgia replied to notmeanymore's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
So amazing what this surgery has done for you! I could have written this too! Same things wrong and at 3 1/2 years out, life is so different!!! Congrats! -
Boy, Cathy, do I know about "backs!" Don't they ALWAYS go "out" at the worst possible timing? I have to rely on heating pad and flexiril to get through it! Ha! And I'm with Cathy, Coops, I like the "little black dress" (and YOU DO look very widdle!) without the jacket. I'd just add some color bling and fancy/smancy makeup and hairdo and wear Red Heels!!! LOL

Wowzers!!! Amazing transformation, Girlfriend!

Girl, you need to get that stuff OUT of your head! If you never lose another pound, you are VERY THIN AND SMALL! As Kim said, a small normal woman! Quit beating yourself up. Really. We DONT lie! Well, not always
