Wowzers!!! You are good!! Love it all!!

Btw, peeps. If you have shopped at Target in the last three-4 weeks check your checking accounts and credit card accounts. Target was compromised nationwide at checkout card swipe machines from week of Thanskgiving til now. My bank account was cleaned out yesterday morning. My husband called to check balance and only $48. Should have been a lot more. I got online. There was an $811, and two $303 transactions all using MY DEBIT CARD ( an actual card but not the one I have in my wallet) AND my pin! We called bank, they searched. All transactions originated in Houston Tx. ATM withdrawals and used at Kroger! $1500 in a matter of minutes! We immediately went to bank, they blocked my card, disputed charges and are reissuing my debit card. I just checked and they have already credited back my funds!!!! Thank you Jesus! SOOO. Check you accounts if you shop Target for the next few weeks. It is ongoing and was on national news this morning. This is not from online transactions, it's check out lines!!!!

Love the portrait!!! PayPal is simple. Just go to paypal.com and set your preferences and add checking and/or credit card info. Here is a note. If you send or pay anything do it as "family and friends". You don't get charged a fee. If you do it as a service, the people you send money to will incur a fee. We use it all the time through our church website. I am Treasurer so I deal with it a lot. I love the ease of it.

Cathy, I can sort of relate. My husband retired last February and it really gripese some days having to get up and go to work (3 days week) while he is home BUT he's almost 6 years older than me so I'll take it! Ha! And he doesn't cook either! He will take out and put dishes in dishwasher now which I almost fell out the first time he did it! NEVER has done any housework. Also, now he starts the car and warms it up fore in the mornings! Ha! I laughed out loud because as I pulled out I thought of my Mom and Dad. Dad ALWAYS did that for Mom. Made me feel ancient! Ha! Now, if I could just get him to fix my lunch and have my dinner fixed when I get home like my Dad. .

Same here, Coops!!

Most def don't do this until checking with your Dr if you are Type 1.

Yes, I tend to freak out too!
-
Yeah, it will be rough for a few days but quickly get better! Proud of you.

Alex moved the letter for me. Thanks!

5:2 caused me and many others to be much less hungry on feast days! Enjoy! I believe that watching what you eat on non fast days increases your loss overall. Just get your protein in and don't go too low on cals or your body will adjust to it and slow down loss overall.

Science says the band stinks and the sleeve works.
Georgia replied to CoffeeGrinDR's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It is definitely a personal choice to be made well informed with your surgeon and fully understanding all options. While LB works for many, sleeve works for others and still other RNY. WL is not a "one size fits all". For me, I went to seminar for LB and came out enrolled for VSG. Has been great. Wish all the best in your WL journey. -

I'm 52, One year out and have lots of inflammation
Georgia replied to Bakergirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No, you won't always feel "amazing!" I went through a period where I felt great when I first lost the weight (100 pounds) and then about year and half in, started feeling crappy again! Joint pain, etc. I had also regained about 30 pounds. What I found for myself was that I was eating too much commercially prepared foods and not eating cleanly causing my body to revolt! Now that I have once again regained goal and actually, lost another 10 pounds, I am very careful how and WHEN I eat. Also, as an "older" sleever - it just serves to reason, that we are going to have more aches and pains as we go along. We are aging - whether fat or thinner! Just the facts of life - we are just doing all we can to be healthier as we age through the sleeve. Best to you!!!! -
Quirky things that can happen to post-menopausal women
Georgia replied to itsnevertoolate's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
OMW!!! If they EVER told me pregnancy was "indeterminate", shoot me now! HA! Of course, I'm 59 and had a full Hysto 10 years ago! LOL! And I'm sure, Nosey, will still ask questions. Good luck and "May your days be merry and bright!!!!" -
Okay, I'm an old woman! (59!) but a moderator for the age related support groups and can I just say, "Wow!" I am so proud of all of you! Wish I had had this option at such a young age! Good luck to all of you!!!!!!

Any success stories for the 50's group?
Georgia replied to MindfulWeightLoss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved 6-4-10 at age 56. Top weight 250, lost 100 pounds in eight months. Kept it all off for year and half - regained slowly over a year about 30 pounds. Started 5:2 alternate fasting (2 500 cal days a week) as a maintenance and lifestyle in June of 2013 and have lsot all 30 plus an additional 10 so I'm now at 140 pounds. I'm 5'8" tall and wearing size 4/6 skirt and medium top!! Thank you Sleeve and 5:2!~!! -
I'm 3 1/2 years out and still to this day, if I don't watch very carefully what I eat and HOW I eat (especially things like dense chicken breast, cornbread, dense stuff) I will inverably wind up getting the "slimes" and HOPEFULLY, (yes, I mean that) throwing it up because it is sheer misery otherwise! I have always eaten very fast and still dont take enough time and slowly eat. Sliming is the worst and as Mistysj said, it can be not only sliming but really feel sick like shaky, flushed, sweaty. Trust me - slow down - dont eat too fast - follow your program and it's all much better!

Have you thought about looking into a more comfortable eating plan, like 5:2 Alternate Fast Days? Here's what I know - we can get through a few days of almost starvation or liquid diet but overall, it's the maintenance that will do us in. I am 3 1/2 years out, regained about 30 pounds also. Finally found a method of maintenance that works as a lifestyle - many of us have accomplished re losing or getting to goal through this method. There is a thread out there and you can google Fastdiet 5:2 and see info but there is a LOT of info here and people who are willing to help. Long term it is the best thing I have done for myself. Lost the 30 pounds and an additional 10 since June 4th and maintaining it easily with 2 semi-fast days a week. Just a thought...

Since these were very similar threads covering the same topic, I merged them. I can remember being somewhat "blue" myself and prone to allow myself to get that way if I'm not feeling well. Here's what I know - THIS TOO SHALL PASS! Once you are feeling a little stronger, and able to really handle your newly sleeved self, life will look definitely brighter! Especially, when the scale starts moving swiftly down!!!!!! As they used to tell me, "Keep your double chin up!" LOL And if you have one, it will be GONE shortly!!!!!
-
Wow! what a transformation! Congrats to you!

There are many ways to add extra protein to your diet. I could not handle Protein Shakes at all so I would take SF pudding and add a scoop of protein powder or plain old powdered milk (excellent choice and cheap!) Also, you can add it to yogurt and double the amount of protein you get in one easy step. You need to work to get that protein in. It is crucial when in the "honeymoon" stage. Congrats on the choice to have the Sleeve. It is LIFE CHANGING!!

Are you on any acid reducer like Priolosec? Is it ONLY coffee? As Laura said, if it is creating pain for 2-3 hours, I'd stop drinking it for a while and see if you can get the "flare up" settled down and contact your Dr. immediately.
