  1. I'm surprised at your early stage you are eating 1100 calories. Most are eating around 800 or so to lose with VSG. Again, as others have said - you are going to confuse yourself at this early stage. Everyone goes through stalls (there are several threads talking about them) and then starts losing again. Your program through your surgeon will not line up with WW. You had surgery to finally lose what you needed. I would advise you to call your surgeon's office or nutritionist and get advice from them. Also, as someone else said, find a support group who are also sleevers. Wishing you the best! Keep us posted.

    The 5:2 Diet

That's been my pattern also. Lose a couple during week, bounce up on feast days and then in another few days HOLD that low. I did it all through weight loss with 5:2 and now in maintenance.

How was your 5:2 day today?

Love and hugs to all today. It's been raining all day here. Cold rain. I love rain but got an issue going on with daughter right now that has upset us so we all are feeling somewhat down today I think! This too shall pass! As Annie says, "The Sun will come out tomorrow..."

Is Susan's last name Lackey? I'm connected on Instagram with her and looks like she is doing WW.
  8. SnowDaisy"]During your stay in hospital, what would you say was standard with regards to your treatment? Is it standard to get the blood thinning injections during your stay (and some given for your return home)? Is it standard to get the blood clot prevention boots after the operation? (They are like huge blood pressure cuffs that squeeze your legs). What were you offered by way of food and drinks? Was it bullion type broth, just Water etc? Are you given any meds to go home with, and if so what? Were you given information packs for your future eating, drinking regime? Were you allowed to wear your panties during the operation? Maybe paper ones? Does your nail varnish have to come off? Finger, toes or both? Would be great if you could share your experiences. Thank you No blood thinners, yes, I had the boots for one day, viol lion and juice second day, painkillers but didn't use much. Info pack fr surgeons office, no panties, nail Polish stayed on.
  9. Thee should be a little drop down arrow by your post that allows you to edit I believe.
  10. You will not be a failure And I am so happy you are young and having this done! What a new life you are going to experience. ALL OF YOU! I'm a witness. At 56, I was sleeved 3 1/2 years ago and lost initial 100 pounds to goal of 150. Kept it off for three years and slowly gained about 27 pounds. Found excellent maintenance through 5:2 eating lifestyle and took off the regain over four months and lost an additional 10 pounds. So just know, take FULL advantage of the "honeymoon" phase. Follow your plan and squeeze every pound out you can, be zealous about it and them when you reach goal, figure out what works for you to maintain knowing that you DO have to work maintenance. Your sleeve is only a tool that will help you achieve and provide the needed willpower but you have to do it right. Junk food and bad eating habits will defeat you. Protein first, veggies and water/liquids plus exercise. Man, I'm so happy for all of you!!!

    sleep apnea?

I believe I am cured and don't feel tired when I wake up ( except right now I am having trouble sleeping at all!). At 3 1/2 years out, I went to Dr for another issue and said something about not needing Cpap etc and he said, "Are you sure you don't have it?" Now, I'm thinking I need to consider doing another sleep study ?? Haven't used machine in 3 years. What are y'all's thoughts?

How was your 5:2 day today?

Cathy, I feel your strength and encouragement you offer to us all. I, like you, believe in the power of prayer and offer them for the needs we all shoulder. As to the "cats!" LOL. I've had a "cat" hole since last January. The hubs retired and I am still working 3 days week. There he is sitting when I leave and when I get home. Ha! He does move and do stuff during the day but I tend to get irritated at times ( really it's probably jealousy because I would love to quit work completely) but he's five and half years older than me so I'll take this stage in life!!! Ha! Wish your hubs the best luck.

    Best Facial Firming Creams

I'm going to look for it!!! Let me know how it works for your Mom and you.
  16. You will ALWAYS eat a lot of slider food! You have to realize that those kinds of food allow to pass right through easily whereas dense protein and veggies cant, hence, more restriction. Go back to basics and discipline.

    Eating too much.

Are you taking an anti-acid/ acid reducer? A lot of times, you get much hungrier and it's really excess acid. I know for me it took me a whole to figure that out
  18. It's an individual thing to me. My surgeon said whatever I was comfortable with. I went back to work a week after surgery and worked half days wed-fri them full days next week
  19. To be honest, I did not have much NEED for help. I was in hospital 2 nights, came home with little/no pain per se, felt out of it and very weak for few days but went back to work a week later half day for three days and the. Full days next week. It wasn't a big deal other than learning how to deal with tiredness and weakness at first

    sleep apnea?

I had severe sleep apnea prior to WLS. I couldn't lay down without feeling I couldn't get my breath even napping. Also, I would wake my OWN self up by gasping or catching my breath. Also, as others said, felt hung over in the mor I g because of lack of sound sleep. I CRAVED my Cpap after getting it. It was like I didn't even know how much I actually could t breath and how many times a night I stopped breathing! But no longer!! Sleep apnea cured.

Body fat, TEE, and goal weight

Yep, me too. At my age, there's a Lot of flab! Ha!
  23. I wish I could have had it done at 40 instead of 57! I wish I didn't have wrinkles but man, I love wearing size 4/6! I wish I could get some of my other friends to consider it for health reasons.

Body fat, TEE, and goal weight

You know, Lynda, it is hard for me to comprehend that with a BMI less than 22 at 135 your BF is that high! You are skinny!!!!
  25. I was going to say, well, you NEVER RELAX! Ha! I'm 3 1/2 years out and relaxed at about 3 years and regained 27 pounds. Lol. I've worked hard to lose it and another 10 but just know, life doesn't reach a point where you can just forget about your sleeve and eating habits. At least fore it didn't. .
