Yes, I am at "goal" - goal was 150-55 and I am at 153. I think you look fantastic! Have looked at your profile pic before and think you look so classy! I am told over and over by husband and my daughter that I don't need to lose anymore but like you, I would really like to be around 140 or so. I was really surprised to be in a size 8 skirt comfortably since I really thought I would wind up around a size 12. Always thought I was "large boned" or framed. NOw, I realize I am really medium frame! ha! Still having a hard time wrapping my mind around where I am at weight-wise. Tend to think as a "fat person" as I am sure you do too! I am doing the same thing you do - snack some in the afternoon - since I have evolved into eating smaller meals more often. Still 3 main meals a day but have found that I am probably still eating too fast and only can eat a small amount when I should and wind up hungry a couple of hours later! I am working on slowing myself down and going back to no liquids during meals. It is truly amazing. I wish this had been around 10 years ago! Again, you look fantastic!

7 months out & my sleep apnea is cured!
Georgia replied to eriadne's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats! I also had severe sleep apnea with a cpap. I am also free of it now! I am also seven months out and reached goal 2wks ago with 95lbs gone, -
I am glad to see this thread. Was going to start one with questions/concerns. Reached goal a few weeks ago and have continued to lose a few more pounds much more slowly. My main concern is this: Eating every 3 hours or so. It seems that I now want to eat smaller but more meals in a day. Still have great restriction and like tiffykins said, have found the things that I can easily slide down. ( like Cheezits!). I REALLY don't think this is head hunger. I figured that one out very early on but get really hungry now much quicker. Any thoughts on this? I sure don't want to have lost only to start gaining again! And yes, you do have to make wise choices. I do not deny myself anything other than the reLly obvious high calorie high fat stuff! Don't eat ice cream, milk shakes anything like that but have been known to eat a 100 calorie bar and like I said, Cheezits,

Are there any SIZE Goal sleevers out there?
Georgia replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh when I started on this journey, I thought I would be happy in a size 14 (5'8" and look nice there!) but that came and flew by and I really starting getting size oriented! Ha! Since having been on a diet since 4th grade I don't think I ever wore a size 10 ( well, maybe in the 3rd grade).when I put that first size 10 skirt on and it easily fit, well, you can imagine the big smile on my face! Lol. Never, NEVER, would I have thought I would be here! So LilMissDiva, I am with you, size matters! Lol -
I agree with tifykins. Cornbread, any kind, sticks in me! Was so looking forward to cornbread dressing at holidays which was one of my FAVS! Nope, not gonna happen. 6 mos out in Dec and still not going down. Oh well. But, sure not griping, 7 mos out, hit goal, last week and down 97 lbs. 2 below goal, Have noticed I seem to have to put something in me about every 3 hours or get really empty and low blood sugar. Plus I have developed a real liking for Cheez it's. Bad!

Official Ongoing Gastric Sleeve Maintenance Thread
Georgia replied to Oregondaisy's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Okay, I am basically "at goal" since goal was 155 for me (5' 8") but will probably continue to lose to around 140 or so (whatever my body wants to do). Was sleeved in June 2010 and have lost 93 lbs. Saw my Dr for 6 mo visit end of December and he TOLD me to "snack more"! Ha! Now THAT was eye opening! We were discussing blood sugar drops (mine seems to be going low at times). Anybody else bothered with this? Also, someone mentioned getting dizzy and light headed. Most ANYTIME I get up suddenly or get up from bed I have to stand perfectly still for a couple of seconds to make sure I have my balance/bearings or I will get totally light headed. Just had blood work and everything perfect but a litlte low on Vitamin D so all in al looks good. As to maintenance, I dont envision any problems right now. Since I can't eat much at a setting (maybe 3-4 bites of a sandwich or 1/2 small chilli or small bowl of soup) and even if snacking, can't each much at a time so I think it is just choices, choices, choices! And I agree with all of you - sometimes you just need to go ahead and have a bite or two and not deny yourself the "pleasure" knowing that it can't be a habit. Glad to have a "community" of people to share with! Sick 'em, sleevers! -
OMG. Let me preface this by saying I am a serial shopper! Lol. Really. I had 3 walk in closets of clothes from sizes 14 to 22. Expensive stuff. Had my sleeve 7 mos ago as of 1/2/11 and have lost 93 lbs at 157 and 2 lbs from goal. Well, l found this Really good resale shop and took load after load as I lost weight and have profited over 1000 dollars! Lol. Now life has a way of throwing us spme curves and my wonderful 34 YO daughter and 2 gorgeous grandgirls are moving in with us for 2 1/2 years while she goes to nursing school sooooo... those closets got emptied, I made a few bucks, lost weight and got healthy and best of all I HAVE ONE CLOSET! Ha! Oh BTW I am 57 and 5'8" So my worst problem is face! Much wrinkles. Truly. But I can live with that (for a while) while I wear my size 10 clothes Go Sleeve Team Go!

Well, if you had told me 6 months ago I would be talking about this and down 90lbs I would not have believed it! My mind still tells me that I need That larger size and wind up taking things back. Have already taken many loads to the resale shop and have more to go. At this point, I am about 7 lbs from original goal but think I will be losing a little more. So thankful, grateful and feel so blessed to have been able to have this surgery. Also, while on the subject has fed bc bs stopped covering vsf? Had a friend just told that. Sent from my iPad

Body image changes after WLS
Georgia replied to BlackBerryJuice's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
AJW, I know just what you mean! I have lost 90 lbs and wearing a size 10 right now. I am about 7 lbs from goal but think I will continue to slowly lose. I am 5'8" and large framed so I look thin now. In fact, my husband said today "Are you still losing weight and when will you stop?". Lol. And I am almost 57 so I am really fixated on all the wrinkles that appear each day! My face seems to be falling in on itself! Ha! So now I definitely see fillers and possibly plastics in my future! BUT lovin the thin part! -
I wake up each day thinking - "Unbelieveable!" VSG on 6-2, down 83 lbs with 17 to goal! Have gone from size 20-22 to size 10-12 skirts (REGULAR SIZE NOT WOMENS!) and Large top! Just going into "normal" (sorry if that sounds rude but you guys know what I mean) stores and putting on a size 12 skirt and thinking, "Maybe I need a 10" is totally mind boggling! Would do it all again today if I had to - utterly amazing! Haven't had any major issues other than extreme light headedness and low blood pressure at times and have to watch how quickly I jump up out of bed. (knoced myself out and cut my lip open early on!!!) But sooooo thankful! Congrats to all my fellow "sleevers!"
-
We are almost identical in time, weight and weight loss! VSG on 6-2-10, Weight 250, Current 167! To goal 17 - 150 lbs. How tall are you? I am 5' 8" so wondering if your goal weight is less because of height. Congrats!!!!!!!!!!! LIfe changing!

Four months out and reality has kicked in
Georgia replied to Estrellita's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
As I read this, I feel sad - really sad for those of you who have not had the expected changes you anticipated and have experienced depression, etc. For me, the experience has been just the opposite - no (or very little) hunger, quick weight loss results, and only some light headedness at times. I was already on a low dose of an anti-depressant for menopause prior so that might have helped with any feelings I might have experienced otherwise. I just want all of you to know that I truly feel for each of you and do believe that the overall effects you will experience as to gradual weight loss, and healthier living will be of great benefit to you. I know for me, it was all about trying to be healthy. Watched my Mom die last Christmas day from a stroke - she took 13 meds a day and had a host of ailments. That made up my mind for me. I had the sleeve done June 2nd and have lost 83 lbs. I am only 17 lbs from goal weight now. Started at 250 lbs. Hang in there! God bless! -
Oh, my goodness! That sounds so yummy and easy. Been fretting trying to find different "concoctions" to eat at 3 mos out so both versions (string cheese and sliced w/veggies) sounds great! Anybody done the slice turkey or ham with low-fat cream chesse spread? I saw that somewhere and wondered about it.

I know I know....it wasn't the healthiest...
Georgia replied to DDUKES's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
Let's don't talk about Whataburger! Making me very hungry for a big juicy burger and fries! lol Of course, I couldn't eat 2 bites now but... (smile) -
2wks Post-Op, Losing too quickly?
Georgia replied to thegeek's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Actually, I think that is great! I lost very quickly (as a woman) and if memory serves me, I had lost close to 20 lbs in about 2-3 wks. I am 3 months out now and have lost 62 lbs so I think it varies from person to person. I have always lost weight quickly on diets so thankful that continued BUT also thankful that this time, I have such a greater chance of KEEPING IT OFF! lol Good luch and congratulations! -
I like the Pure Protein bars (also lactose intolerant!) which have 20 grams of protein, less than 2 gr sugar and about 160 calories. Several flavors (chocolate and PB/chocolate the best!) You can buy at WalMart. You find them where the protein power, etc is found.

Hi guys! Just introducing myself...
Georgia replied to Hailey D.'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome, Hailey! And for me, let me tell you VSG is a wonderful thing! You won't regret choosing it! I was roughly at your exact height and weight (5'7", 250) Had sleeve 6/2 and since then have lost 56 lbs. Some days you struggle to find the "right food" mix for you and that improves as you go along. It has been such a life changing thing for me. I'm sure it will be for you too!!!! -
I can truly relate to all of you!!! Cleaned out my clothes closets (yes, more than one, I am a "clothes horse!") and took about 200 pieces to resale shop! Then I had to go find something for a wedding I am singing in soon. Well, it was truly amazing! No longer in the plus sizes and could shop "off the rack" in exclusive stores - skirt size 12-14!!!! Regular womens! I can hardly believe it! It's happened so fast that as one friend said, "You're going to have to stop thinking like a "big girl" which is really hard. Do you agree? I still want to migrate to the loose baggy tops to "hide!"
