I have had the same episodes. In the first 6 months or so after surgery I would literally hold on to the walls as I walked until my "blackout" would pass. Come to find out I was EXTREMELY low in potassium! So low, my doctor wanted to hospitalize me to run it in through IV. I convinced him otherwise and immediately started on liquid potassium by prescription. I was truly amazed at the difference in energy, etc I had after taking it. Might check this out.

Yep, I get hiccups. But here's my weirdo thing - I start sneezing!!! Seriously!!!! When I reach the "magic bite" I will start sneezing and sneeze 7 or 8 times! It drives my daughter (grown daughter!!) and husband crazy! Ha! As if I can keep from doing it! But, yes, I also get hiccups on occassion right AFTER I eat.

I'm with you girls! I'm 57 and gravity had ALREADY begun the "down hill drag!" lol I found some really great bras at TJ Maxx and must have hit it on a delivery day because there were 4 or 5 in my new size. (36C-D down from 42 D). They are great and were not expensive at all. I had been paying around $30 a pop at Dillads so I was quite thrilled and REALLY thrilled to not have to be the double padded shoulder strap kind! (If you know what I mean! No more grooves! ha!) These are lilyette

Yummy protein bar I can not only tolerate...
Georgia replied to MegInNOLA's topic in Food and Nutrition
I'm with y'all. I never could get the protein shakes, protein stuff down without gagging AND I'm lactose intolerant. But I found Pure Protein which has like 27 grams of protein with only 2 grams sugar I believe. Chocolate Peanut Butter my fave but chocolate fudge is good too. -
yummy! Makes me want some right now!

Hey, Pauline! First, Congrats!!!! I can pretty much agree with you. It becomes easy to undo the good habits we have learned and committed to. I am battling the wanting to graze all day long right now myself. I DO know that if I am truly eating dense Protein my pouch will only hold small amounts but other stuff... well... I agree with you about thinking like a "fat person". Our minds play tricks on us and even though we have a great tool to help, ultimately, it is going to be up to us to change our thought patterns and eating habits. I am reading a good book right now called, "Made to Crave" by Lysa TerKeurst who is battling the same things and gives her perspective and God's perspective. Really good.

Poll and Questions for those already Sleeved:
Georgia replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will be honest here! At a year out, I am more hungry now than I was in the previous months. IF I handle my sleeve totally correctly - not drink before, during or after meals - eat Protein first, etc - I still cannot eat very much at all. BUT, I have found that about 1 1/2 to 2 hours later, I want to eat again. Something, anything. And because of that I have started to pick up some bad habits again. Snacks! I am at goal - lost 101 lbs and haven't regained (other than 2-3 up and down pounds) weighing around 150-153. Anybody else experienced this? Went through a bout with very low potassium and low blood sugar and still, at times, get that "shaky" feeling. I think some of this makes me "need" something quickly at times. I TRULY do not want to regain or put myself in a position to recreate old habits. Anybody else battled this? -

Aretha does NOT have cancer. That was a misreporting done by somebody in the press.

Okay, Luanne - here you go - Can cross my legs and love it! Can walk two or miles a day without having a heart attack! Can fit into size 8 clothes and love it! Can look myself in the mirror now (can't say I love it 'cause I STILL see the wrinkles! lol) without flinching! Can do anything I please without stopping to catch my breath every few seconds! Need I go on?? (smile) Also, I am almost 10 months out and can eat a small amount of most anything. Still can't do a lot of very dense Protein like steak or chicken breast unless very, very tender and easily digested. I am trying now to go back to low carb as much as possible because I went through a month or so of beginning to eat "junk" in small amounts and don't want to re-train my thought processes back to bad eating habits. Reached goal of 150 in late February with weight loss of 101 total now. Will probably lose another 10 pounds or so if I can manage it. Enough said? LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE my sleeve.

That is very interesting, Susanne. Very easy t understand. I have reached goal but noticed I have picked up lots of carbs and edged up a couple of pounds so this is very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Good Luck everyone!

Okay,I found my topic! Want to snack anytime I am sitting in my house relaxing. For a while I was hung up on reduced fat Cheezits Now it's graduated to whatever I find. So I have to go back to things like Tiff was talking about - less carbs more protein. Have moved up a couple of lbs and that's as far as it goes. Sure don't want to "undo" anything have learned and certainly want to make sure that I am not setting a pattern for myself for the future

Well, I am 57, at goal, lost 101 lbs, in 8 mos. And HAVE wrinkles! Face and neck. Really really noticeable to me. Others say not so much but there are groves and lines now due to WL. But, hey, I am a size 8 now. Can't have everything! Lol
-
NO regrets! None none none! Sleeved 6/2/10 and reached goal of 150 a month ago. From 250 lbs. I do realize that I want to snack more now and will have to continue to watch that. Otherwise, all good!

Georgia replied to juliarh's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look beautiful! Congrats! And I know what you mean - now that I am at goal, I am constantly "analyzing" "What's next?" And now I WORRY about regain! Ha! BUT I don't constantly think about food, I'm like you - active when I WANT to be (smile), and so blessed! Keep it up! 34lbs goes by fast!
