Trouble Getting Rid Of All My Plus Size Clothes
Georgia replied to Ellie4me's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
How much did u lose and now at 3 years what are you finding about maintenance, re-gain, restriction etc? I am right at 2 years now. -
I could not comfortably eat ANY bead til about a year out. I can now eat all kinds in small Amts. Usually can eat half sandwich or burger with usually one side of the bread. But, boy, earlier on I had some really "slimy" moments after ANY food.

Stomach Size 1 Year Out..
Georgia replied to Dizzle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm with M2G. I'm 22 mos out and today I had a half In N Out Burger (my 1st!!!) with one bun removed and a very few fries for lunch. I can eat much more (and did for a few weeks) of slider food- cookies, crackers, candy etc. which is where you REALLY have to practice self control but to this day can still only eat a very small amt of dense protein (chicken, beef, etc). So you must eat good food first. The restriction is still there and with your guidelines WORKS! But it IS only a tool and once you get to goal and maintain you still have choices that must be up to you. I've gone back to watching carbs closely and don't intend to regain! -

Trouble Getting Rid Of All My Plus Size Clothes
Georgia replied to Ellie4me's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
M2G, you are a girl after my own heart! I am like you. Thinner or fatter ( mostly fatter) always had nice clothes and shoes accessories so I was very excited when I took my clothes to this nice resale shop close to me. I made SEVERAL hundred $$$$! I couldn't believe it. Everytime I went to check my balance, I'd pick up a check!!!! So. All of you holding on find a good place. GOOD plus size clothes are in HIGH demand!! -
Walking into Talbots and coming out with MEDIUM size tops and completely ignoring the Plus Sizes!!!! That's what I'm talking about.

Why Diet For Some But Not All?
Georgia replied to neeve's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every surgeon is different. I was one of the lucky ??) ones who had NO pre-surgery diet plan. -

The Thought Of Some Food Making Me Sick
Georgia replied to urbandecayno5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh, yes! I cannot tell you how many tubs of yogurt, muscle milk , and other stuff I threw out! The very smell of them would make me want to hurl! Lol. This too shall pass. ( still can't stand any of the above). -
I wasn't told anything about it other than to wait til later on. I don't like coffee and stopped diet coke so didn't get much until later. I di use crystal light citrus splash Focus that has a small amt of caffeine. Don't think it is an issue

How rude of him!!! lol And I would LOVE a tummy tuck and lifestyle lift on face but $$$$$$ right now! ha! After two C Sections, Hysterectomy and 100lb weight loss, there is NOO hope for regaining any thing else from this skin but like you, I don't think they would approve the panni for me. I sure would love to have TT and "other things" yanked up and trimmed and tightened! lol

Guess How Much They Billed My Insurance...
Georgia replied to wannabb08's topic in Insurance & Financing
Same thing happened to me ($37,000) I had already paid my $200 hospital co-pay and $150/surgeon copay. But waiting and watching that $37,000 sitting, sitting, sitting there was VERY nerve wracking, but ALL was paid. Fed BCBS. -
Here's my experience - at the very start, I had to crush pills that I was still on (BP, ect) Within a few weeks, didn't need any of them BUT I take a small dose Anti-depressant (menopause - no hormones!!! get the idea!!!!) MAKE SURE YOU DRINK A LOT OF FLUID WHEN TAKING ANY PILLS! Trust me - I have learned the hard way. You think it's down with a small amount of fluid and you WILL regret it! Spent half the night one night TRYING to throw up to get the half dissolved (very gross!!!) pill out of my small pouch/throat/something on VACAY! A couple of times since then I hae experienced the same sensation - this is at night when I would take, swallow a couple drinks of water and then go to bed! NADA! As to vitamins, what are those? I'm bad! Took for a while - can't stomach them and haven't in a few months. Going to do bloodwork soon so I will see if I am off track or not. Hope that helps. Antibiotics are fine but make sure you drink, drink, drink .

I Recieved The Call For My Insurance Approval
Georgia replied to jewels1227's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Way to go!!!! You will be so thankful once you have VSG! What's next depends on your Dr. Everyone I've seen/read about is somewhat different. Some require preop diet (mine didn't!) Some require mental health eval (mine didnt!) I did have to see NUT ONE time! Then wham bam, thank you ma'm, I was sleeved!!!!!!! Good luck to you! You will do great! -
Used C-Pap machine for severe sleep apnea for probably 5-7 years! After VSG, no sleep apnea, no machine. Yayy!! Now, if I lay flat on my back, and am really tired, my husband says I snore - but who doesn't ??? At 58, I would anyhow! lol I just know that completely breathless feeling when I even laid down on the couch to take a nap left never to return!!!! JOY!!!!
-
Less than a week now and you will have begun your new journey!!!!!!! I had my VSG on a Wed too. I can remember every detail! lol DON'T REGRET ONE THING! ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! Keep us posted.

YAAY! Day two done and gone! Down 4 lbs! Yes, I know a lot is water but it's water I carried in lbs.! lol Anyway, doing bootcamp is really helping me get refocused on living healthier. I truly don't want to be a slave to scales and aren't at this point but when my little size skirts start getting tight, well..... ( And MegNOLA, I understand what you mean about weight. I catch myself comparing to others weight and they are about 5 inches shorter than me! I'm 5' 7.5" and have always looked lighter than I was because of my height. But at almost 2 years out, I can tell my "new body" is shifting in areas I don't want it to shift! So lowering my carbs helps the "muffin" top that I lost completely and DON'T want back. I tend to carry my weight all up top, no bottom, butt or thighs! But face, middle and stomach, well.... enough said. YAAY, US!!!! Go, girls, go Team VSG!!!
-
Okay, took me a couple of weeks to get motivated! Lol isn't day down of bootcamp! And I feel so much better ( well, it could be that I shopped at Marshalls, Ross! penneys and Burlington today too! Ha!) seriously, it was super easy. I was READYto get serious again. Gonna take off these regains! Sent from my iPad using VST
