    Is this normal?

Well thats just the thing. I have been losing weight, slowly yes, but still losing. Its just that I am in college and this is my spring break. I have been PBing about 5 times a day and I dont keep down 90% of my meals. I just am afraid of having to go out to dinner and keep getting up to go PB. Does that sound like a good quality of life. But on the other hand, I want to lose a lot of weight so do I suck it up and continue to PB or not eat at all or do I just go at a snails pace of weight loss? I am sure once you get a fill things will start dropping again and you will realize that you can do this too. Hopefully that little voice that says you can't do this either will be forever silenced when you look in the mirror!

    Is this normal?

Thanks guys for all of your advice. I did indeed call my surgeon and tell him what was going on. I moved up my appointment for my second fill and I went in today to get some removed. I felt like I was pulling teeth trying to get him to understand that I was in pain. He only took out .2 ccs but since he put in 1.8 in the first place, I think thats better then nothing right? How many do most people get put in? He said I should be losing more weight faster by now but taking out part of the fill is going to slow me down. I just feel a little down right now since I left the office. How do you guys cope with it?

    Is this normal?

Thats just it though. When I went in for my fill I told him that I wasnt keep things down and he said that was normal. And I have had two CT scans in the past 9 weeks and both show that everything is normal.
  5. Hi there. So I am 9 weeks post op and I am having some serious digestive issues. After every meal, and it doesnt matter what I eat, I throw up. I chew my food really well and I wait between bites which means it takes about an hour to eat one chicken breast. Even after strawberries, a bite of noodles, grapefruit, anything, I find myself running to the bathroom. I had my fill two weeks ago, but this was happening even before that. Now it is just more often. What do I do? Am I doing something wrong? PLEASE HELP!!!! :cry

    Severe Pain

I go in tomorrow to get my 2 week check up with my Surgeon. I am just hoping he can tell me what is going on. I really hope I dont get the "this is normal" speech. My surgeon is the one who ordered all the tests and the ER doctor was like why? But they came back normal...figures...has any one else delt with this much severe pain? I am a pretty active student and I guess I didn't realize it until now. Does anyone know what it could be?

    Severe Pain

Hi there. So I was banded almost two weeks ago and I have to say that I am pretty happy with my weight loss. The last time I checked I was down 21 lbs. Which is great! However, ever since the surgery I have been gettin severe stabbing pain at the port area and no matter what it wont stop. At first it was a stabbing pain, but now it alternates between that and well to describe it being elbowed in the boob times 10 but at the port site. I called my surgeon and went to the ER as instructed. They did a CT scan and blood work and didnt find anything. After I got to deal with the jerk doctor there who told me none of the surgeons would want to touch me and lectured me on the band and its "horror stories" he sent me home with vicoden. That doesnt help. I am a student and I drive to school so I can't be on them when I do. Thats 8 hours of pain. Has anyone else gone through this? The band feels fine. I dont even notice it. Its the PORT that I want to cry over. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Terms

Hi there. So I have been reading some posts and there are some terms that, maybe I am just being silly, but I dont know what they mean. The two that stand out in my mind are PB and DH. What are those? Maybe I am missing something but I just thought I would ask! Thanks!:paranoid

How many times to eat a day

Do you guys still have to have your protein shakes daily? I am starting to look at what my doctor gave me to do and I must say I am kind of frustrated. Its 4 wks clear liquid-no sugar no caffine, then 2 wks pureed food, 2 wks soft food, and finally solid food. But I am so HUNGRY! I have snuck in some yogurt just to try to make it through the day but I am pretty active and I burn it up pretty fast. I still have to have 2 shakes a day that are 30gms protein each. How fast did it take you guys to actually eat? Would it be terrible if I ate some eggs or something soft even though its been like 2 wks? THanks!

Highly offended by the ladies of "The View"

Has anyone received a response yet? I would like to know what they have to say. I really dont watch that show, but maybe they should do a segment on WLS and all the struggles we have.
  11. Hi there. So I am new to this whole forum and I have to say that I am so glad I have found it. I had the surgery done in Seattle, Washington over christmas break and now I am back at school 5 hours away. There are no support groups here, there is no one who really understands what I am going through. I was banded January 2nd, 2007 about a week ago and ever since then I have been constantly week, feeling nauseated and have pains in my stomach. I threw up for the first time last night and missed my first day of classes because I was so nauseated. I dont see my doctor till next week for my check up, but already I am begining to regret this decision. I am just so tired of being tired. I don't do anything because I lose my spark after an hour. I am 21 for god's sake! I should be out enjoying life not hiding in my apartment laying in bed! I have been without food for 9 days. I had a 10 day pre op that was all liquid and I did cheat a few times, but apparently that is normal. I have another three weeks before I can have soft mush food and another 8 until solid. Did anyone else feel like this? How do you know if your body is rejecting the band? Ugh and I am also tired of the lack of BMs and the ones that I get...this may sound gross...I feel as though I am merely peeing rather than passing anything solid. Is any of this normal? :phanvan
