I took some Nyquil last night coz I am fighting a head cold and man I woke up hungry today! I hope I don't feel starved all day. I bet it's thirst and not hunger. I have never felt hungry in the mornings. I usually can't heat until about 9:30.

Am I the only one truly struggling with this?
tnt21705 replied to cheleand3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree. I keep thinking that I did not go thru a surgery for nothing. I don't ever want to feel that pain of a stomach surgery again. The gas was terrible. That puts me right back on track if I think of cheating. Plus I am scared to death of vomiting. -

I am the same way. I "cheated" at the end of the 2nd week with hummas (licked off a spoon) and pimenta cheese off a spoon. Very small baby spoon, just to get a taste. I also did cottage cheese. The danactive yogurt drinks are really good, The vanilla is great. Try that too. I did V-8 juice too. It's a little thicker juice to it would tide me over. I just wanted to chew something so bad. I get it. I never thought of cream of wheat but I bet that would be good. Eat slow, slow, slow. Hope this helps. -
Sorry to hear about your band but I hope you feel better soon. Try Weight Watchers they have a really good support system. I hope it all works out for you.

When I go to solid foods for good I am thinking about using WW. I really like it. I think that the points will be too much to eat but I like all the other stuff about WW.

Has anyone ever tried these noodles or heard of them? My friend was telling me today about them. They have no calories or carbs and they are not made of any flour. I wonder if they will work for lapband people?

My Band has a MIND of its OWN!!!!!!!
tnt21705 replied to Princess_Gottalose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am finding out that my band is the same way. Seems on sundays it lets me eat what I want and then come Monday and Tuesday back to really small meals if it even lets me eat. Weird -
On my second week I tested the waters and ate something mushy before my diet said I could and I felt fine that day but the next two days where not good. I had to go back to Clear Liquids until my stomach felt better. I am very careful about moving forward with the food. I am on mushies now and some days are great the then some days are not. Weird how that works. Stomach must still be healing. My belly was swollen too but that is going down. Incisions are very itchy too.

Beans are okay, right (as long as you get your protein too)? Eaten in moderation.

I love beans. I know to cut out all white flour products but the thought of giving up beans too! I'll have to do them in moderation.

tnt21705 replied to tnt21705's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
maybe a combo of eating too fast and maybe too much. I am still learning. -
My band is very tight in the am and I can't even eat until around 10 - 10:30. I do hot tea in the morning. If I try to eat then I find it makes me feel bad for the rest of the day.

Lots of burping anyone?
tnt21705 replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The exact same thing is happening to me. Like a stuck burp. I can feel the liquid move over the air bubble. I have my husband pat me on the back (like a baby)...... just have to wait for it to come up -
I am on my 8th day and I am feeling worse this week then from last week. I am trying to eat thicker liquids but I have so much gas in my stomach. I take gas X as much as I can and barely get any relief. I am wondering what have I done and will this ever get better. It's like I have a stuck burp in my throat. I do all the tricks the dr's office has told me to do. Very very little relief. Has anyone had a ruff couple of weeks and then have it turn around for them? Gosh I hope so.

I used Dr. Reilly on 04/11/11 and so far as I can tell everything is fine. The good thing about him is that he does not really have a weight loss restriction in order to do the surgery. Some dr make you lose 10 lbs or they cancel. Not him. Just as long as you lose something he still performs the surgery. I lost 5 lbs before my surgery. I am only 9 days post op so I have not had my 1 month appt yet. But all in all I think he is fine.

Thanks! I am not in any pain just the feeling of a stuck burp. I do think that I have alot of swelling left. I did see the dr for a check up on tuesday and he said small sips no straws no cold liquids. everything hot warm or room temp. I just need to give it time. My stomach must still be sensative.

Ahh I hope this is the case for me. I would hate to think it will be like this forever. I was starting to doubt my decision for the lapband.
