None of any of this sounds like fun. I didn't even know a port could flip. How do they know that happens? A kink?! I never knew that was possible either.
-
I saw it. She only spotlighted a few people. I will miss her weight loss shows.

I hope this is temporary. They told me no restrictions on my food. I could eat what I want right after. I think that I will do liquids myself for the next 48 hrs just so it will feel better.

This is a major decision and you go with who makes you comfortable. Wear a sweat suit and tennis shoes when you weight in next time. You can get 5 lbs from clothes.
-
yes and so far I can keep the food down too.

Well I had my first fill yesterday and the needle wasn't long enough to reach my port so she had to get a longer needle! I got really nervous and almost started to hyperventalate! But she calmed me down and she gave me a numbing shot and then used the longer needle. After the numbing shot I did not feel a thing. To me the anticipation was worse then the actual fill it self. Now I know what to expect and she said to just remind them to use the longer needle and numbing shot.

OMGeeeee!!! When does this "TIGHT" feeling stop??
tnt21705 replied to Shoulderheart's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
try sipping hot broth and hot peppermint tea. Sip water. I have heard that when you get dehydrated that your band can get tight. Hot liquids work when I am tight. -
yes it will go away. I did not start feeling better until the 3rd week. I feel better everyday.
-
Yes I agree. It never goes away. Everytime I eat I get gas in my tummy. Peppermint tea helps. I also try to walk after I eat. That helps too.

Really struggling with this post-op diet!
tnt21705 replied to Wheeler5051's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
feel lucky you can eat. I feel like I can barely eat anything. Everything (expect mash potatos) makes my quesy. I go for a check up and maybe a fill on monday. I feel like I barely eat and feel like I am barely losing much. -
I know that white bread is out of the question and that's good I want it to be. So what do you eat with your tuna, chicken, and egg salads? Crackers? I have thought about maybe with a tomato or like a lettuce wrap. Any suggestions? Also, I see lots of recipes for potatoes but all my paperwork says not potatoes. Are potatoes out too?

All I got to say is gasX strips, hot tea, hot chicken broth, applesauce, and DanActive yogurt drinks. That's what I ate for the first two weeks. Follow the after surgery diet (don't jump ahead not matter how good you think you feel) Walk, walk , walk as much as comfortable after surgery to get the gas moving. Don't get discouraged if you feel terrible that first week. I did not feel better until my 9th or 10th day out. Everyday I feel better. Somedays my tummy feels good and some days not. On the days my tummy is bothering me I walk on the treadmill and that usually helps too. I find that I have gas in the tummy and it helps it work its way out. Hope this helps. -
pork rinds - lots of Protein and no carbs. I can eat them fine. Not many but I can eat them okay. When I really want a crunch that is what I turn to.
-
btw this happened to me too. I got ahead of myself and my tummy said "slow down".
-
try to go back to the clear liquids for couple of days. Hot tea and broth. Something might have irritated your tummy and it needs to settle down. That has happened to me too. Real eggs dont do good for me but for some reason egg beaters is okay. Chicken salad does okay but Tuna not so much. I think chicken might be the only meat I can eat so far. All others really hurt my tummy.

What does it feel like when something gets stuck?
tnt21705 replied to CharlotteCS's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a nurse tell me at pre-op that one of the surgeons thet he works with tells his people if they fill or think something is stuck to drink pineapple juice with meat tenderizer. I haven't been stuck yet (that I think) but I have the two on hand just in case. -
Hoping for sleep apnea. Am i a crazy person??!!

Kohl's is a great place for Men's clothes too!
-
I love Kohl's. Not sure where you are but if you have a Kohl's then def. hit them up. Very good deals.
-
my dr told me toddler size bites. So i eat really small bites and my food gets cold before the end of the meal but i am scared to death of being stuck so I'll just continue with the small bites.

Banded April26th and the gas pains OMG!!!!
tnt21705 replied to mstan76's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I did not feel better from my band day until the 9th day. I haven't had anymore gas pains since that day and every day I feel better. Drink hot tea or broth and take gas-x strips. That I think works wonders. I also had the hubby pat me on the back (like burping a baby) oh yeah and sit against on lay on a heating pad. That helps too. I hope you feel better soon.
