Thanks Kathy for the update. I was wondering how you were doing. I have my sleeve done in 2 days. Right now I am not nervous just excited that in two days, my new life with the sleeve will begin. I hope I am as lucky as you are with the nausea and the pain. I am trying to remain very positive about that. Is the sipping hard with your swollen stomach? Good to hear you are back home and doing great. Hey, cute docs at Mt. Carmel in Columbus wouldn't hurt either Dawn

Nancy, thanks for doing this. This will be very helpful as the July Firecrackers joing the "Losers Bench". My surgery, however to pushed back to the 7th of July from the 5th. Dawn

Wow Bryn that is awesome. Welcome to the "July Firecrackers". You will be having surgery right after me. I am scheduled for the 7th. Move on over all of you on that "Losers Bench" Bryn and I are going to be on the losing side before you know it. Dawn

I am more than ready Just 8 more days!!! I am very excited and all but it is strange...... I have this calm that has come over me in the last couple of days. I am not at all nervous or scared. Upon going to my final surgeon's appointment, he was amazed how much knowledge I had and he stated that I had really done my homework. I told him, when you have been jumping through the hoops for 8 months, you have plenty of time to do all the research you need! Let's just say move over on that "Losers Bench" the July Firecrackers are coming!!! Dawn

KristinaRN, I have Cigna and my paperwork was submitted on Good Friday in the afternoon. I had my answer by Monday afternoon of the following week. I am still waiting for my surgery, however, as my surgeon is just so busy his first open appointment was July 5 which has now been pushed back to July 7th. Dawn

Hi Carrierae, Welcome to the Forum. I too have Cigna insurance. You must do 6 visits, so you should be able to be done by 11/1. My PCP sat down right after my visit and he and his wonderful nurse got all of the information together and faxed it that very afternoon to my Surgeon's office. The surgeon then submitted the paperwork on the Friday of that week (which was Good Friday) about 3:30 pm. They called on Monday morning to let me know I had been approved. My problem was after approval getting on my surgeon's calendar for a surgery date. He is so busy, his first available date was July 5th, so I had to wait 2-1/2 to 3 months...... Good luck, I see some people only wait a week or so to get their surgery. Dawn

I have Cigna and they required a 6 month Physician assisted weight loss program. Dawn

Tara, I am getting sleeved July 5th by Dr. Philip Price at Mount Carmel Medical Center and you? I started this process last August, finally got approved in April and have to wait until July to get worked into the surgery schedule -- he's just that busy. So far I don't have to do the 3 week liquid only pre-op diet. Do you? Dawn
