First day back to work
samantha209 replied to Michelle Cicerello's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Glad u had a good first day! it'll get better -
not quite but after having attended a function 3 weekends in a row, I have realized that I am a dessert junkie I can pass up the carbs (rice, Pasta, macaroni etc) I can pass up the liquor, heck I made Sangria for the cookout yesterday, and didn't taste it, drank Water all nite but when the red velvet cake, cheese cake, and chocolate mousse came out, just like last week with the cannoli's I caved ughhhhhhhh It's funny, when I had surgery, my mother commented that i may have to fore go all the social functions I love to attend, and I told her no i didnt, that my sleeve would stop me from over-eating, and that I had to re-learn how to be in these settings....but is she right??? I can do fine with my meals, but once the dessert comes out it's a whole new ballgame i try to rationalize it by saying that i am still eating significantly less than I have in the past, and that i have been on point all week....but i also feel its too early (7 wks) and with my stall and everything to fall off the wagon....I will weigh tomorrow and see what the impact is I am willing to accept all opinions...what say you???

The cookie monster....
samantha209 replied to samantha209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
it was very coincidental. 2 baby showers back to back, and then the memorial day bbq....it wouldnt typically be every weekend, and I can bypass these things in the store, I wont buy them or bring them home, I can bypass them at work, but in these social settings with friends, i lose it almost...but as with the cannoli fiasco last week, I have gotten back on track today... -

Pre-surgery anxiety, jitters normal?!?!?
samantha209 replied to mnbsleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Happy to help!!! This is one of, if not THE most important decisions you will make in your life. Also surgery is no small undertaking...it involves risk, so to be cavalier and nonchalant would be totally abnormal. I thank God everyday that I went in and came out OK, and pray it continues to be that way. Good luck when your day comes! If you look back and look at some of my current posts, you will see that I was/am an emotional wreck. on my last day at work before the pre-op diet my asst bought me red velvet cupcakes and i broke down bawling at work....its totally normal. -

Pre-surgery anxiety, jitters normal?!?!?
samantha209 replied to mnbsleeve's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Totally normal...i broke down crying, I second guessed my decision...i was nervous right up until the oxygen mask went over my nose i was telling my bff on Wednesday that sometimes I am just sitting down and I cant believe I actually did it. Just make sure you've researched, your doctor, and Pray. You'll be fine! -

I am with applesaucy...try doubling up on your scoops until you can increase your intake. That'll help you keep your protein and calories up. -

samantha209 replied to doggz109's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
someone posted an appeal letter on here before...I think I saved it on my home computer in case I needed it. Or try searching appeal and see what comes up. I believe it was in the Insurance forum. Good luck! -
i had my first non decaf coffee this week and i am 6 wks out...it was iced coffee, with skim milk and tons of ice...so i figured it couldnt be that bad....still haven't had liquor yet i am making my popular white wine sangria for an annual bbq this weekend, I wonder if I will be able to pass it up

how did ur attitude change after your weightloss
samantha209 replied to livinglifelikeitsgolden's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
One thing that I will say...I have had this conversation with a male friend of mine, and he always claimed that weight is irrelevent as long as you're confident. And I told him i disagree...I have always exuded confidence, but no matter how confident you are in yourself, if society doesn't reflect that, you start to second guess and wonder how much of a role your weight plays in things. I have always wondered what role my weight plays in career advancement, and relationships etc...i just hope that losing weight means my inside will match my outside in these aspects -
On my 3rd week stall... so Disappointed :(
samantha209 replied to Starry's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you're doing great....don't let anyone pressure u. I have been moaning and groaning as well about my stall...i guess they really are part of the process. I also agree with applesaucy...i dont really monitor my fats...only Proteins and carbs...for the most part if your carbs and proteins are in line, then your fats will fall in line also. I upped my Water yesterday to over 80 ozs and my proteins were over 80 and my carbs at 30...my calories yesterday were about 750. my stall lasted about a week and a half...
