Another stall??? 6wks out
samantha209 replied to apple-saucy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It seems our weight loss patterns are similar. I stalled at 6 weeks (2 weeks ago) also. This past week I lost 5 lbs. Dont give up. I definitely keep my Water above 80 ozs and carbs in the 30g or below range. I don't know if it's that, walking, or just the nature of the sleeve, but the scale is moving again. It will for you too! -

Discouraged and disappointed
samantha209 replied to apple-saucy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am down 69 lbs and still wearing the same clothes...i refuse to buy until i am in a noticeably new size. dont get me wrong I have to belt my pants and the booty is saggy but it isnt enough of a difference for me to start spending money yet. i too dont see it when I look in the mirror but definitely do in pics, and everyone comments on it so they see it. I agree with the exercise. Meggie I wish I had measured also -
Nothing really seems to be what I WANT to eat???
samantha209 replied to kids05's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i understand, I feel like I am eating the same things over and over...I say try variations of the same food...different types of chicken or fish prepared differently...that breaks up the monotony a lil -
Am I officially The Lowest Loser??
samantha209 replied to 1-4-Many's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with the starvation mode...500 cals seems too low...most ppl are 600-800 cals, and even my NUT told me that is to low for me, aim for 1000 but I still am somewhere between 750 and 900 -

Pre-op diet vs No Pre-op DIet
samantha209 replied to meggiep's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i started at 343 and I had to do a 6 mos diet....I lost about 28 before my 2 week liquid diet. I lost 16 on the liquid diet and started surgery at 299.3 (4/11) My post op visit was 9 days post op and I weighed in at 290 that was on 4/20. On 5/16 I was 280 and fluctuated between there and 282 until 5/27 when i weighed in at 279.8 as of yesterday 6/3 I was 276.8 In total I have lost 66.2 lbs. 44 pre op and about 22.2 post op in just under 8 weeks I am only aware of one stall...because the 3 weeks I was out of work, I only weighed myself that one time on 4/20 and I didn't weigh again until 5/2. But I do feel my weight loss has been slow. -
Do You Ever Feel Silly??
samantha209 replied to settebee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do because I have always been secretive about how much i weighed...especially being so close to 350lb...and i have lost almost 70 lbs but I am still huge. Ppl noticed that I have lost weight but i feel like if i tell people i have lost 60 something lbs they will be like really where -

STALL STALL STALL!!!!!!!!! OMG!
samantha209 replied to MSanti's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome back first of all. I was wondering about you! I had stalled also...a couple of ppl recommended getting the Proteins to at least 70, carbs to 30 or under and Water to at least 80 ozs...it did get the scale moving, albeit slowly...but moving nonetheless. i also track using fatsecret on my blackberry tracking can be annoying but at least you know you're hitting your mark. -

"Honeymoon" stage
samantha209 replied to To Be Thin 2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
that sounds like a low estimate to me...i had always heard 4-5 lbs....with a standard diet ppl are expected to lose 1-2 lbs a week....i would think it should be a little higher maybe 2-3 lbs a week having had surgery and taking in such a small amount of calories -

wow 100 g of carbs it really annoys me that there is so much variance in plans and success rates....i wish there was a formula to this. I am over 70g of protein, 30-40g of carbs, and over ozs of Water a day averaging around 1000 cals and i am losing but still rather slowly i think I gotta play with it some more....my next step is to try and keep the protein/carbs and water the same and drop the cals if possible -
It's funny there are people from all different circumstances and walks of life on this website. Some people whose highest weight isnt even as high as I am with 64 lbs lost and people who are 200lbs or more above where I am now. I also think it's interesting that there are people with no comorbities, tons of comorbidities, ppl who converted from sleeve to VSG etc so my question is what made you choose this, ultimately??? I can say that at 33 and weighing 343 lbs, I had always been relatively healthy, even though I'd been overweight my entire life. And even though I was always big, I was comfortable at 250lbs...still pretty active etc. But i think 350 was my fear...the closer I got to that, the more I realized I had to put a stop to this. Also some weight-related illness in family and the death of a family friend was a wake up call. I remember my aunt's ex boyfriend who was always overweight died of a heart attack last year, and she called me and begged me to lose weight. She told me to do what ever was necessary...and the irony is we were both named Sam. I remember i ended the conversation in tears, and thats when i resolved that no matter how afraid I was that I was more afraid to do nothing and die.
