    when does this get better?

I have heard warm liquids feel better in the beginning.
  5. Very similar experience for me I saw a surgeon for six months and went to a Psych eval they set up. Only to find out from my insurance later that that psych did not have a doctorate (so I had to do it again). And that the surgeon was not associated with a center of excellence so I had to switch to a new surgeon.
  6. You always have positive comments and very thought out replies for those of us that are not where you are yet. You have done the work and you deserve all the happiness I just saw on your face as you were dancing. CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!

    Bobbie the Impatient

Hi Bobbie! I am impatient and have UHC too. Have you registered and been assigned a nurse case manager yet? Your case manager should answer most of your questions. And send you information by mail. I have even found some discrepancies on the printed materials. Such as you need a 5 year weight documentation (which I didn't) and the Psych evaluation could be performed by a social worker (later to find out that the person had to have a doctorate degree). Point is to ask, read, and ask some more. You don't want to do something only to find out you now have to do it again (only better). That being said, when I submitted to insurance for approval, I was approved the same day.

    Approved!

    Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. My schedule looks just like Humpty's. I started in July 2010 and hopefully will have surgery March or April 2011. I am glad to have insurance but there are requirements.

    Waiting for UHC Approval

I hope you get approved too. Maybe it won't take as long as you think.

    Denied UHC!! ***in tears***

I have UHC but did not need the five year weight documentation. I had it so we sent it in anyway. If they are looking for a 5 year history, you can appeal or try again in Jan 2012. That way you no longer need 2007 BMI to qualify. They are not looking for 5 full years just a date at sometime in the calendar year(2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012). I hope that makes sense. I know once you make the decision you are ready to take action, but it is an option.
  16. Your avatar picture is looking slim! GREAT work on the 70 pounds!

    Count down

    Very best luck to you
  18. I was in the same situation so I changed my surgeon to Dr S Scott Davis Jr. he came recommended by my first surgeon and a member on VST. He is associated with Emory University -Midtown Atlanta. I met with him and really like him and his office. I think his scheduling did not meet my expectations though. I was approved by insurance on 2/17/11 and it took a week for the doctor's office to call and schedule my pre-op testing for 3/16/11 (three weeks later). I still need a 2nd's surgeon's appt and then they will schedule surgery. I have no idea when my surgery date will be. It just seems to be taking a long time.

    UHC Weigh Ins Policy

Have you taken your height measurement. If you are shorter than you thought your BMI goes up.
  22. Oopsseedaisy

    Super frustrated!!

Thanks guys. I think I just needed to hear that it's normal. When you're not sleeved, nearly 3 weeks of not losing weight usually means you're not doing something you should be or something ya know? My brain just keeps going back there and second guessing me. Daisy, my clothes were getting a little looser and measurements have dropped from preop but not since. I'm literally sitting my butt right here LOL. When's your sleeve date? I am going crazy waiting for my surgeon's office to schedule my: Pre-op testing -then 2nd surgeon visit -then Surgery They got insurance approval last Thursday. So long story I don't have my date yet, but am crossing my fingers for March.
