weight loss after vsg

I am in the same boat. I lost at first and now nothing. My surgery was 3/28. I have been exercising, and following the diet and the scale does not move! -
I ate too fast yesterday at lunch and supper and was horribly sick afterward. The pain in my chest and hot flashes was unbearable. After about an hour it went away. It sure is a learning pattern that I have not perfected yet. My head says EAT. My stomach says No Way!

I am doing well, down 12 lbs since I started the pre-op diet 2 weeks ago. I am having a hard time getting my Protein in and I only get about 32 oz of fluids in. I was able to walk at the mall tody without difficulty. I am just not interested in eating or drinking at all. -

One week of full liquid diet is the only requirement before the surgery. I am so excited, all the anticipation is hard. -

Thanks for all the replies! I start my liguid pre-op diet tomorrow. The sleeve sounded like a good in between surgery for me. I have friends who don't loose any weight long term with the band. And too many complications with the Ru and y. This website is a life saver, I read it multiple times and day and calms my nerves regarding the surgery. -

Thanks for the update. I am having surgery on the 28th and I am very nervous. Your experiences help. -
Hi there, After many months of doctor's appts, nut appts, etc. I am now finally approved to have my VSG. I have been calling my insurance company 3 times a day for a week to find out if I was approved. My surgery date is March 28th at 8am. That is a whole 5 weeks away and how am I going to sleep knowing I am going to have major surgery and is it really needed. Everyone says, Sheila you are not big enough to have surgery. But my BMI is 40 and how big do I need to be to have it done? I am so scared but also excited. I read this forum daily and everyone is such an inspiration. I need some support from all of you that I am doing the correct thing. Thanks so much for listening. Sheila

Thank you everyone for the supportive words of encouragement. It really does help. I am now trying to find out if I can have a tubal with the VSG. Anyone have any experience with this? -
Hi there, This is my first time posting a new topic. My question is: What protein drink out there is good with a ton of protein? I would like to purchase some before my surgery. Thanks, Sheila
