    Slow Losers - Unite!

Hi, i was banded january 2007 and was pretty freaked out about fills as i thought the pain of food getting stuck would just get worse. turns out, it helped - my first fill was to 4cc and a week later to 7.2cc using fluoro - i feel great, food is stuck less, losing steady. i think fluoro is important - the needle is inserted and you drink a thick liquid in slow sips then watch it go down. the dr. injects more saline and the liquid slows more etc etc until you have a nice full pouch and slow emptying. i just couldn't look down at the needle but it was painfree with a topic freezing. also, i live in canada and no one near me does fills so i go back to puerto vallarta for them - thank goodness i have family living in the area. i really wanted the fill to make a difference, and to last. so far, three months, 30 lbs. it's just getting nice here so biking and walking are good. good luck denise ella dr joya.com
  4. hi, i live in winnipeg and am scheduled for january 24 in puerto vallarta with dr joya. i know of a few people who have been to him and he is excellent. i am talking with my gp here about doing fills but dr joya offers free fills for life, as long as i get down there!!! not too hard to imagine as it is - 48 today!!!! am doing the two week liquids only and not finding it hard at all but i am really ready for this and i think a mind body spirit connection is what i need to be successful. something just clicked and i know this is right for me. good luck. ella

    sushi?

thanks for the info - i am realizing as i read more of this site, that the answer is never yes or no, it's more of a 'think it through and find the way it will work for me'! appreciate the feedback, ella
  6. Hi all, nice to be here. i am planning on getting pregnant but don't want to wait another year or so to get banded. i have read a few positive experiences from women who have kept their band and had healthy babies - any other comments? on a personal note, since going clean and sober 14 years ago, the pounds have gone up every year - scrawny addict in 93, 275 lbs today. right now, i feel like i did when i gave up using - like something in my head has finally clicked and i know what i have to do to live a strong and healthy life. back then, i didn't know how to ask for help and now, i know how to ask and receive it. plan is to travel to PV and have Dr Joya do the procedure January 25. i have family and my partner allison is coming with me. i have shed all the emotional and spiritual baggage i can and now it is time for the physical to go. i feel like i am walking around carrying all this scar tissue from the past. pounds and pounds of it. the only fear i have is about feeling vulnerable without all this fat between me and the world!!! HA - bring it on!!!!!!!!! thanks for listening ella
