Only because she followed that wish with "Starve myself to death"

LOTS of Excellent Clothes for Sale

Ebay is awesome for selling plus-size clothes!! You can get about $10 per item! I've sold tons of clothes this way, just figure it will cost you about 10% of the total sale in fees. And, btw, I was a recipient of SarahS's clothes, thanks!! I LOVE THEM!

    Diet After bariatric Surgery

This is a good guideline, however it's for Gastric Bypass, not Gastric Sleeve. My doc insisted you cannot stretch your sleeve as all the stretchy part was removed during surgery.

stuck at 178 for 5 weeks

Everybody is told something different. That's why I believe in doing what feels right and what works. A lot of people seem to believe the sleeve is a "jail sentence" and you can only do certain things. If you read lots of posts, you'll see everybody is told different. Just do what works for you and go by your doctor's guidelines. For heaven's sake this does not mean eat junkfood and anything that will harm your stomach, but it does mean try mixing things up to see what may work. Carb's are not a bad thing. Just make sure they are healthy carbs and not the junk ones. As for the stall, you weren't really that heavy when you started so you will lose slower. I'm sorry if that's not what you want to hear, but that is an average of 1.5 lbs a week--that's awesome! Could you have done that without the sleeve? My suggestion would be drink lots of fluid--sip it throughout the day, eat more protein, cut back on carbs, and go for a 30min walk per day. Not a stroll, but at a good clip. I've had some 2 week stalls which have brought terror to me, so I know what you're going through. Just hang in there and keep at it.

    Smell of Food

Yes, i agree...those first few weeks are really tough when you smell food. I am 2.5 months out and some smells of food still bother me. What I did at the beginning when that would happen is take a bite, chew it a few times and spit it out. It totally helped. I just had to be careful not to swallow. Also, it may be true (as in my case) that when you can eat it, you won't like it. I took a bite of a sugar cookie yesterday and about threw up. Your tastes may very well change.

    100 lbs. In 4 months?

Honestly I think that is stupid. Are you doing this to be healthy or to be skinny? It's not a race to see who gets there faster. Why on Earth would you want to "starve yourself to death" to get to that goal quicker? That statement makes me sad.

    Burning pain from left incision

It is a common "effect". I had the same thing, talked to my surgeon about it and it's something that just happens to some people. It took about 2 weeks for mine to get better. Did they give you an elastic girdle to wear? That REALLY helped! Just baby it and don't over do it and it'll heal.
  8. Vacation in the Carribean, wearing a bathing suit in public. Husband wants to do the nude beach...now THAT would be ballsy! LOL

best way to break a stall?

OH...and let me add....my hunger has kicked it making this even worse! Headaches and a growling belly do not keep me in a good mood nor a good attitude.

best way to break a stall?

I'm glad you posted this. I'm at 8 weeks and have hit a stall, too. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried. Those old feelings of "this won't work" are creeping up. How can it be that for the last week and a half, I've eaten between 800-1100 calories a day and have not lost a lb?? I lost .4 this week and the next day I stepped on the scale and it said I gained 2. NO SENSE! I'm just afraid my body is rebelling against me and here I am at my typical 40 lb weightloss and my body refuses to do anymore. It's always been this way. These are not happy days for me. My brain tells me that it will work, my heart is thinking otherwise.

    Going to Disney before Surgery

All of the roller coasters have "test" seats before you get in line. You can see if you fit before standing in line and then you won't waste your time or be humiliated. Disney IS very size-friendly...I fit on the little teacup ride w/ my 3 year old and I weighed 350 at that time. Granted, the middle spinny thing you hold onto rubbed my belly a bit, but all was good.

    HELP.....i got questions!

Eat jello....in large amounts. Jello will feel like you're full, but goes away fairly quickly, so eat more.
  17. 3 hours means it's time for a snack...cheese cubes, deli meat, hard boiled egg, anything protein you can eat in a little serving. I eat every 3 hours.

    Emotions

Or, if it's REALLY THAT BAD, taste it, chew it up, and spit it out. The first 3 weeks were really hard for me bc I was craving the junk. I did just that, and I was fine. Now, at 6 weeks, almost 7 weeks, I don't want it. Although I still do want chocolate...but now I'll eat just one taste. (Like one square of a chocolate bar, or one bite of a peanut butter cup) That suits me just fine.

    Food and life adjustments

I didn't know men wouldn't be hung anymore after surgery! (haha Rootman!!) I'm about the same as you as time out. food does taste a bit weird and every day it's something different. I may not have tolerated tuna fish last week, but this week it's all my belly will take. I'm not sweatin' it bc I knew there would be a ton of changes going on. As long as the scale keeps going downward, I'm a happy camper. I really don't miss food....well except popcorn. Gosh I miss that.
  20. BTW...if you have medical tests from a different doc outside of your insurances coverage, take the tests to your PP and ask him/her to sign the order. I was told by my doc that if she signs the order, then it becomes PRIMARY to her and secondary to the other doc. We did it this way for all of my pre-testing and it was covered. Ask your PCP to make sure.
  21. Totally with FOXBINS on this one...time for new PCP
  22. I can only add, cut back on the carbs. (I know, easier said than done) My doc said try to limit them to 15g per meal.

    Dr.Nick's Post-Op Diet

Dr. Nick is mean. LOL....he is the only doc I've seen that makes you stay on liquids that long! I was liquids while in hospital (2 days), full liquids for 2 weeks, mushies 1 week and then onto "real food".

    What am I doing wrong??

Read about the 3 weeks stall....it's all over this forum
  25. I ate (and well, still do) every 2-2.5 hours. It might be a few slices of deli meat and cheese or cottage cheese, just little snacky-type things. I have not had a real "meal" in over 6 weeks. I don't miss it.
