Caley, I look forward to meeting you! Your Hubby is having the surgery on the 13th right? My Hubby will be there too but for moral support. We can all groan together and make my Hubby walk with us! Lol

Real Life, Real Work, Real Eating????
ranchersdaughter posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello Everyone! I'm scheduled for Surgery on April 11th. I'm extremely excited, but feel like a fish out of Water flopping around between excitement, anxiety and nerves. I feel like a goofball asking this question, and maybe I'm the ONLY one who's in this particular situation, but.... How do you work and still hold to the 2 oz meal/liquids every 2 hrs after surgery?????? I work for Intel as a subcontractor and our regiment is EXTREMELY strict (we're not even allowed to keep water bottles with us, or any other consumable AT ALL). We start work at 6:00 AM, have a 15 minute break at 9 am, lunch is at 12:00 and then nothing until we get off at 4:30pm. I'm really not sure how I'm going to be able to uphold all the dietary necessities of this surgery once I return to work. I'm totally stressing about it and not even sure if I should have the surgery now..... Signed, Not Allowed To Open Your Mouth @ Intel (haha) Any input on how each of you makes it through a "TYPICAL" / "AVERAGE" day post-surgery would be TOTALLY helpful and appreciated!!!!! Christal -

I am only taking one week off of work after surgery, unless something goes wrong. But as a newbie I have idea what to expect at that point. -
No need for Reconstructive Surgeries
ranchersdaughter replied to dimples509's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'be gained and lost the same 100+ lbs at least 5 times in my life. When I am thin I still have the empty sacks my boobs came in. I also have what I call the reverse fanny pack belly and batwing thighs. Having lost any semblance of a "girlish" figure when I was only very young, I'm not at all ashamed to admit that I'm going to do whatever it takes to look good after my weight loss!! Full body list, tummy tuck, breast augmentation and maybe even a nip tuck on my throat. I WANT to feel good in a bikini for the first time in my life! I WANT to see lust in my husbands eyes! I want to experience what all the quote quote "normal" women do! I want to rock a pair of heels, a low cut shirt and a skinny mini and knock my husbands socks off!! Call me crazy but if im going to go to the length of cutting my stomach off.....I may as well have the whole package! It is most definitely a personal choice and I wish everyone the best of luck with whatever they choose!! -
April 11th with Dr Almanza. I'll start my preop diet on March 30th just because I want to give my body the BEST possible chance for a great surgery and recovery. I am also looking forward to the "clean' feeling you get from high Protein liquid diets. I've been on the lose weight gain weight diets pills fads extremes roller coaster for 16 years and I'm ready to cross the bridge to FREEDOM!!! I wish you the very best and look forward to hearing your results!! Christal

Have faith! Be open, honest and expect her to have a TON of questions! The more confident you appear to her about the procedure, the more confident she will feel and react to your decision to make a better life for yourself...and her!! I told my 14 yr old and 17 yr old a couple of months ago and they have been my best supporters! She's your daughter and you're not just doing this for you......it's for her too! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!

High volume Water and high Protein and Vitamins and mineral supplements are a must!!! It's true that if your body feels as though it's starving (and yes, 500 calories a day is starving), it will actually store anything you give it as fat, and then it will start eating it's own muscular system to gain the nutrients it needs! You have to feed and exercise your muscles in order to convince your body to burn fat as an excess energy source. I wish you the best of luck dropping off this plateau!

In 2011 I want to be able to.....
ranchersdaughter replied to jlo's topic in Gastric Plication Surgery Forum
My Surgery is tentatively scheduled for March of this year. In 2011 I'd like to start seeing a change in my body shape that makes me look less like a tick (big body....tiny head). -
