Great pic... you go girl! -
Hello Sleevers, I've been sleeved now for one year, I hit my goal weight six months after surgery. Here's my issue when I was wearing 18/22 I would look at the size 4/ 6 in the department store and say wow that's really tiny. Now that I wear a size 4/6 I look at my jeans and say wow these look pretty big to me, it's like in my mind if I'm wearing it...it's got to be huge or large not small or tiny. My therapist says this is normal my mind is still processing the new me and in time I will see what every one else sees. When I see individuals that I've not seen in a long time they say things like "Don't lose any more weight" or "Wow your so tiny" I've attached a picture of me in a pair of new jeans, this is my screen saver on my cellphone, my therapist believes this will help me train my mind to see the true me. My question, have any other sleevers had this issue? and how are you dealing with it? Take Care

Now I drink boost everyday since it's not lactose free I get my Protein and I stay regular. You can also try, miralax or try eating Protein Bars that are high in Fiber. Hope this helps Take Care -

"you Don't Need Gastric Sleeve Surgery" Is What Everyone Keeps Telling Me
YOLANDA240 replied to CHELL's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Welcome! The main reason I told no one I was having surgery was because I did not want to hear that statement " You don't need this surgery" Remember you are doing this for yourself and no one else the insurance company would not have approved you if there was not need. Tell everyone, thanks for your concern, but your not in my shoes then smile and walk away. Take Care -

One Year Gastric Sleeved Hooooooray! Did Not Hit Surgeons Goal Of 135... No Worries
YOLANDA240 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Hello Everyone, My one year office visit with my surgeon is this Tuesday and I know he's going to ask why I did not work harder to reach his goal. I'm '5"4 and my current weight 150 lbs, I'm not built like others I can wear a size 4 jean. So my plan is to explain to him that I love being 150 and I can maintain this weight for the rest of my life and I also plan on wearing my size 4 skinny jeans to my appointment....lol When I weighed 170 I was wearing a size 6 and now all of my size 6 pants and skirts are to big. Are their any other sleevers out their whose weight on the scale and clothes size look odd? What I would like to know also, was it wrong for me not to meet my surgeons goal? I wanted WLS to save my life and to be happy currently I'm very happy with the energy I have to play with my daughter, and my ablity to workout for an hour and not feel like I'm having a heart attack. People I've not seen for a long time are amazed and they keep telling me how skinny I look and please don't lose anymore weight....I usually respond I'll keep that in mind thanks. I do plan on having implants and my bat wings removed but again I'm doing what makes me happy. How many sleevers are fustrated because they have not met the goal set by their surgeon and have not realized or enjoyed the weight loss accomplishments they have achieved. Take Care -

I Need A Little Encouragement... Words Of Wisdom My Gastric Sleeve Friends?
YOLANDA240 replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Coops, I understand were you're coming from, the day I threw my scale in the back of my closet the goals set by my doctors went out of my head. I no longer focused on the scale, but living healthy and getting active. The next important item was I had my doctor put me on hormone replacements once the night sweats, and mood swings went away I had more energy to walk my 3 miles a day with out taking a nap after...lol My advice is to take it one day at a time focus only on the weight you have lost which is huge and as stated in one of the post take a vacation from the scale and the goal set by your doctor. I've lost the most weight when I was not thinking about it, then when I was tracking every day it could work the same for you. Take Care -
